I've got to update my page for October...how did it get here that fast??

I took it easy yesterday after all the walking on Sunday and back to the gym today! Did cross training so it wouldn't all be on my legs. Tomorrow I'm going to breakfast with my mom and 2 neighbors (we play Bunco together). Then to the gym afterward!

Have a great week!!

Happy October! emoticon

Can't hardly believe it! Mike was just reading to me that we had over 7 inches of rain in September alone. Seriously, people......this is VERY uncommon for us. I would gladly send some to you Kim!

Stephanie- October 10th is my niece & nephews birthdays (twins). They turn 6 this year. Time goes so fast. I will keep them in my prayers for a smooth delivery!

Brenda-You keep it going girl! Way to rest your body when needed! You are my inspiration!!

Let's start OCTOBER off with a bang! WE CAN DO THIS!!

Wendi - I'm glad you took it easy...you needed it! Hope the rain lets up so the kids can play soccer!

Stephanie - How exciting to have a due date... it's so close! I'll keep her in my prayers!

I was so tired today after all the walking I did yesterday at the Safari Park...legs are stiff! I just relaxed and did little things today. Back to the gym and housework tomorrow!

Laken called this afternoon to let me know she's being induced next Thursday, October 10th.
emoticon emoticon emoticon
She had an ultrasound today, and the baby is weighing almost 9 pounds now. Her doctor believes it would be safer for her to have a c-section since she (Laken) has such a small frame. I'm very nervous and excited. I can't believe it's so close!

Please keep them close in your thoughts and prayers, if you don't mind. I would really appreciate it. I'll keep you posted!

Hey everyone!

Twas a busy week/weekend and now I'm starting all over again. I did absolutely nothing yesterday after I got home from church. It was good just to rest and catch up on tv. I really needed it. The last few nights have been 5 hrs again.....grrrr.....

Well it is raining again! We have broken the record (by far) for the wettest September in history. At least we didn't get snow like Montana did! That would not have set well with me! Soccer is cancelled yet again for today. They have only played 2 matches so far and next week is the last official week. We may be doing soccer every night if it dries up! Oh well. They got to play on the turf on Saturday so that was fun to watch, even though they lost 7-0.

Great job Stephanie! I'm getting down to business this week. I'm sick of hurting! Let's do this!!

Jules- yep, I'm with you......don't watch or listen to much news at all anymore. It is more like a bunch of middle schoolers with all the drama. Good grief!

Brenda- I love bagels.....might have to try those!

Well I better get my butt back to work. I NEED to get some things caught up. On my last load of laundry for now though! Yeah!

Stephanie - Congrats on your huge weight loss!! Great start - I've never done that! Good luck on continued success! Can't wait for you to become a grandma too!

We went to the San Diego Safari Park today and walked a ton! It was a beautiful day...sunny with a light breeze and mid-70's. I got over 11000 steps! I've only done that one other time (walked 5 miles which is huge for me). Fun day with hubby, Mom and sis.

Let's have a great week and keep pushing!

Good morning, friends! I hope you've had a good week. It seems like most of mine was spent running errands. Matthew and Laken are doing good. Laken is in her nesting phase and busy getting ready for the baby. Won't be long now! We're still waiting for the Marine recruiter to set a date for Jacob's physical. It seems like it's taking forever, and he's getting very frustrated. I hope we find out something this week.

I had my Weight Watchers meeting yesterday morning, and I lost 8 pounds this week. I normally lose a lot the first week, and I know it's mostly water weight, but I was still excited about it. Today I'm making a crockpot marinara sauce that I plan on using this week for my lunches. It has 0 WW Points, so you can eat as much as you want, and I plan on using it for pizzas and calzones.

Jill - I hope you're having a great time in Puerto Rico! How is your daughter-in-law doing?

Wendi - I know, as mom's, it's hard putting ourselves first, and I've struggled with that a really long time too, but I finally made myself accept the fact that I can't take care of anyone else if I don't take care of myself first. I have to constantly remind myself of that every time I start feeling guilty over going back to WW. ((HUGS)) to you. Shawn and I need to defrost our freezer. I don't believe we've ever done that in the 26 years we've been married. We may try that this week. I feel your pain on the vehicle repairs. Jacob's truck has been in the shop for two weeks now, and I'm dreading finding out what's wrong with it. I hope and pray it won't cost a fortune.

Kim - Good for you going back to the Y! That's awesome!

Tracy - I'm so glad the MRI went well. Keeping my fingers crossed you get some answers Tuesday. Keep us posted. LOVE your hair! I've been wanting highlights forever, but I keep chickening out. I don't know why. I've been eyeing a mini waffle maker on Amazon, and I put it in my wish list, so I can order it later on. Thanks for the chaffle recipe!

Brenda - I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dollar Tree! Seriously, I could stay in there all day and spend a fortune if I'm not careful. I watch a few YouTuber's who make DIY projects using Dollar Tree items, and I'm planning on making some fall and Christmas decorations. Thank you for the bagel recipe. I'm using the 2-ingredient dough for my pizzas and calzones this week. Can't wait to try it!

Dee - I'm so sorry you've been struggling. Sending a ton of hugs and prayers your way.

Jules - I agree with you about the news. I never watch it on TV or read it online. I used to all the time, but it wasn't good for my blood pressure (or my mindset).

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Hi Jules! I agree with the news... I hate to watch the turmoil. The bagels are delicious and very low cal compared to regular bagels! The onion rings and veggie idea is great! I'll have to try it!

Keep posting...I love hearing from you!

sound easy! love easy!

so easy peasy onion rings? emoticon
slice thick 1/4 inch rounds. cut rounds in 1/2 and separate into individual strips. then whip & dip in a couple egg whites... dredge in bread crumbs (panko or something like Italian herb spiced), spray Pam on a large baking sheet lay onion pieces haphazardly, single layer... broil a few mins until done... experiment/watch/check 1st time (it's been a while, but takes a few mins to cook but then turns quickly from al dente, to done, to burnt.)

same process for bell pepper strips! yum! emoticon

like to dip in things like salsa or tzatziki dips

Dee - Just do what you can! We're here for you!

Tracy - Glad you made it through your MRI. Hope you get results soon! Have a relaxing weekend!

Kim - Can't believe you have to drive 2.5 hours for work help! Glad you have your kiddos to help the stress go away!

Jill - I'm sorry you haven't been in the groove lately... it's hard sometimes to keep going. I had a hard time getting back to my low-cal routine after we went on vacation...it took me over a month to lose the 10 lbs I gained! Just make one better choice to start up again....after your fun in Puerto Rico!! Hope your daughter-in-law feels better with the noro and nobody else got it!

Wendi - Oh busy momma! I remember those days!! Then he graduated and it was all over! I can't believe you're going to have snow already! Amazing!

My sister and I made bagels tonight with a 2 ingredient dough that you can use for anything (pizza, donuts, bagels, etc). They are easy and delicious!! It's a WW dough...equal parts Fat Free Greek Yogurt and Self Rising Flour.... that's it! 1 cup of each will make a large pizza or 4 bagels (that's all we've tried so far). Here's the bagel directions we used:
lordbyronskitchen.com/weight-watcher

bagels/

WEIGHT WATCHERS BAGELS
Yogurt and flour is all you need to make these Weight Watchers Bagels! And the topping is totally up to you - everything seasoning, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, or just plain! (We made the everything bagel and a jalepeno & cheese bagel).
ONLY 3 POINTS PER BAGEL!
PREP TIME: 5 mins
COOK TIME: 25 mins
TOTAL TIME: 30 mins
Servings: 8 bagels
Calories: 174kcal

INGREDIENTS
2 cups 0% Greek yogurt
2 cups self-raising flour
4 tablespoons sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or everything seasoning
1 large egg, whisked

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. 2. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with a silicone liner or parchment paper. Set aside.
3. Add the yogurt and flour to a mixing bowl and using a firm rubber spatula, stir to combine.
4. Turn the mixture out onto a clean, lightly floured surface. Knead the dough until it forms a ball.
5. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.
6. Roll the portions into a cylinder shape measuring about 10 inches in length.
7. Join the ends together by pressing the forming into a ring. Lay the rings onto the baking sheet and set aside.
8. Brush the tops of each bagel with the egg.
9. Sprinkle over the seasoning or seed of choice (this is what I did). Or, pour the seeds/seasoning into a shallow bowl and dip the bagel (egg side down) into the seeds to fully coat.

MRI went good. I was good and only cried a little as the nurse was trying to figure out where she could put the iv. But she was really good and got it on the first try. I think I held my breath entirely too long..lol It is supposed to be reviewed by today as it was flagged for quick turnaround. I'm hoping my doctor will call me tomorrow and give me some idea of what's going on and not cause me all kinds of anxiety over the weekend. I see him Tuesday morning to discuss everything...but definitely wants some insight before then!
Woke up with back spasms this morning. woohoo..geez emoticon

We have a cold front moving in over the weekend with snow in the mountain passes already! I know we have had that by Halloween, but not in September that I can recall. My parents' town is at 2800 ft in elevation and they snow forecasted for Mon & Tues with lows of 30! Our low down here in the river valley will be in upper 30's and highs in mid 40's. crazy weather everywhere!!

Its nice and sunny out..think I will go to the park and nap in the my car on lunch break. Tired today. I slept much better but was awakened from dead sleep at 6:00 this morning by a dog scuffle on my bed emoticon Bella doesn't like sharing her space with Ginger, but Ginger wants to sleep with us too and be near both of us..so it's a battle of cranky senior vs energetic youngster. Ginger has gotten to where she stands up to Bella which just ticks her off even more..."kids"!

I hope everyone has a great day!!

Quick pass through! On my way to volunteer out our church's booth at the Hostfest (Scandinavian festival). I'm tired and it's raining so would rather curl up in a blankie and binge watch tv. (HA HA--you know I don't have time for that!)

So yesterday had to go to Mike's doc appt. His A1C was up and his cholesterol was high but he hasn't been taking his meds so duh! He was out and did't take the time to call the doc and get a refill. He just waited a month until his appt. MEN! They we stopped at Sam's Club and picked up a tray of cookies for the church meal that we had to get home and serve. Oldest came home as he is working the Hostfest as a security guard so he's staying with us. Also, had to take his car in because it sprung a leak. Found out he needs a new radiator. UGH to the tune of $600. This is just after Mike had tires put on his van because he could wait no longer. Another $750. UGH! I'm tired!

Today is volunteering from 3:30 until 9:30. Tomorrow is homecoming so Jack is marching in the parade and playing in the half time show. So a football game or at least half of one. The weather isn't looking very nice either. UGH!

I better get going. Feel better, be better, take care, and keep on pushing!!

Love the hair Tracy. Hope you found some answers today - sure Tuesday can't get here fast enough.

I have been in a real FUNK lately and not sure why. Cooler temps are always a positive but my total lack of motivation and eating nothing but garbage for the last week or so has me feeling so yucky. I know I need to make just one positive step and the others will follow but can't seem to get that 1st step. A big part of my mindset is that I will be away for the next few days (plane leaves at 11:44 p.m. Thursday and gets back midnight on Tuesday - guess it would actually be Wednesday morning) Been a roller coaster of going, not going, going, etc. due to hurricanes and of all things an earthquake near Puerto Rico. We finally decided to just go and praying we will all be safe. Then today my daughter-in-law went to the ER - they are thinking she has Norovirus. She helps with my bookwork and I am really hoping that I nor my grandkids get this. Guess it is highly contagious. While in there my son calls to tell me he talked to a friend of mine that was at the ER with his brother who happens to be very sick. The brother is a very close friend of ours and I had talked to him earlier in the day and he never said anything about being sick. Dang men.

OK Long Rant is over - everyone please take care of yourselves and I will be back on when I get back from PR.

Cute hair style Tracy, how did the MRI go today?

Brenda, I am with Dee, I want to come play bunco with you. Donít know how but I am a fast learner.

Dee, you be sure and take care of yourself as well my dear! So sad when we have to put our elders in a home especially when they donít want to go. Just remind her that there is people there that can help her if she needs it and there is most likely a common room so she can meet new friends.

Wendi, you are crazy busy my dear. Take time for you in all the craziness.

Been working like crazy with these stupid financials. And the boss lady is upset I havenít billed the clients yet but, I feel bad that I havenít got their statements to them yet. UGH I am going to go 2.5 hours away next week to one of our other at offices to get some help from a girl down there. Hopefully she can help me figure these out. Got to spend some time with my boys today, they just make my heart smile. They are truly my stress relief, we played games and watched ipads and just cuddled. Nothing like hearing them scream my name and come running when I pick them up daycare. Stephanie and Brenda I can't wait for you two to have this.

Lots of anxiety this morning. Have my MRI in a coupe of hours. I think the anxiety might be more for wondering how the inject the contrast dye emoticon We scheduled me review appt with my dr for next Tuesday morning.

Woke up this morning with my back killing me too. It hasn't been muscle spasms like in the past but more of severe joint type pain -- its a hard deep pain. Dr said I could explain that to him on Tuesday.

I love SP for my teams and friends here and accountability...but I haven't been a fan of the tracking. Last week I signed up with myfitnesspal premium. And I really like the tracking options and I've been doing good with my tracking consistency. When I finish each day's tracking it gives a report on where I could be in 5 weeks if I continued to eat that way. So in 5 weeks i could weigh xxx. I find that so helpful - I need something tangible like that to help keep me pointed in the right direction. Now I just need to keep it going for the long haul to make it worthwhile.

We have a fruit plate today for someone's birthday and a meat/cheese tray for this afternoon. Going to have some fruit this morning. emoticon emoticon

Tracy - love the new style. A hair cut can do so much for how we feel about ourselves.

Brenda - I want to play Bunco! Love your ongoing game with themes and prizes.

Wendi - I can't keep up with you. Busy, busy, busy!

Laura - Are you using all those new notebooks and pens? Good luck with your studies and your new job.

Sounds like we have an assorted group of gym goers and WW members. Here's to each of us finding what works for us and sharing ideas.

I haven't been tracking my meals. Too busy taking care of my aunt and making decisions and answering calls and worrying about her. Moving someone out of their home and into assisted living (especially when they don't want to go) is very emotional and really takes a toll on a person. I'm hanging in there and not totally giving up on my healthy & fit journey entirely. Just letting some things slip for right now.

The basic chaffle recipe I use is 1 egg, 2T almond flour, 1/2 t psyllium husk powder, 1/4t baking powder and 1/2 C shredded mozzarella cheese.

So this recipe is scaled down for the mini waffle maker - I got it on Amazon for $10 and its perfect because hubby likes pancakes over waffles. It makes 2 mini waffles, but if you doubled it, it would make a full size waffle. There all kinds of variations, you can add veggies or meats or other types of cheese.

I've seen a recipe that is just egg and cheese - but this one with the other items, it gives it a more traditional waffle texture and they can be reheated in the toaster and are freezable too.

Thanks...I am loving my hair cut too emoticon I get to wash it tomorrow...so curious to see if I can style it as good. I had to wait to wash it because of the toner he used...supposed to last longer if you wait for the first wash.

Fall colors are starting out in Leavenworth...its so beautiful

Good Morning!

Spent most of the morning getting basketball stuff done. I am the one that gets our team all signed up and paid for tournaments. We have 5 tourneys that we are doing this fall. 1 end of October, 3 in November and 1 in December. So now I need to do my bible study lesson for tonight and then maybe think about getting some actual work done! Hubby has a doctor's appointment tomorrow in Bismarck (110 miles away) so I think I'm taking the day off and riding with him. Will be good to get out of here. Still have to be back by 4ish so we can serve meals at the church.

Tracy- love the cut! What is your recipe for chaffles? I've seen all the hub bub but haven't tried them yet.

Kim- great job on getting to the Y. So glad you have someone to keep you accountable.

Brenda- I'm glad WW is working for you. You are right.....find what works for you and go with it! Everyone is different.

Well I better get busy! Gotta change the laundry 1st! Have a great day all!

Stephanie - Thanks for adding me to connect!

Jill - Have a great trip no matter where you are!

Wendi - You're a house of fire getting things done with work too! I know what you mean with the long list... I'm working on it one at a time! Keep pushing, you'll make headway!

Kim - Good for you going back to the Y! It's always easier going with someone...I go with my sister.

Tracy - Love your new haircut! It's too cute!

I tried WW a year ago and found it hard as well. I was used to Nutrisystem and eating lots of carbs. I rejoined WW after Nutrisystem wasn't really working (and too many carbs and sugar for my diabetes). I went through the holidays and gained, then decided I could do WW and make it work! I only do it online...no meetings. I'm relearning how to eat healthier. A good balance of carbs, low fat, and protein along with lots of fresh food, fruits & veggies instead of processed foods. It's a life long eating program and is doable for me. Everyone has to find what works for them. Whatever it is, don't give up and keep pushing forward!

Good luck with WW. I tried earlier this year, but couldn't do it..it set off too many food triggers for me. And I may not have been in the right head space either.

Love my hair!! I wanted something more suiting to my personality, something more edgy. And my stylist is so beautiful. My mom has the hots for him emoticon

So happy I took a chance on him. Worth every penny. He took so much time getting my color just right and getting rid of the orange brassy colors.

I was able to get out and Uber on Saturday. I did a couple local trips and it was ok...but I really enjoyed it once I got out to Leavenworth. Everyone there is just super nice or happy...of course they are on vacation..so that helps..lol. I didn't push too hard, and didn't make a lot of $...but it was so nice getting out there and doing what I like. Fall colors are starting to show out that way too.

I made my first chaffles yesterday...love them and the little waffle maker.. super cute and handy. I never used my full size maker - hubby prefers pancakes to waffles. I made enough for a couple breakfasts and will make some more tomorrow night..maybe add some different flavors.

I should have time to catch up on posts tomorrow morning as bosses are gone.

I am seriously considering joining WW again. We shall see.

Ohh Jill I hope that you are able to go on your trip. Fingers crossed for you.

Wendi, I know you did NOT use that S word. Itís entirely too soon for that stuff. Itís going to be in the 90s here all week. UGH I am ready for fall. But I am thinking we will go from Summer to Winter back to Summer. Oh and then you have to remind us that Christmas is coming what is wrong with you lady? LOL My weekend was good. A bit lazy yesterday afternoon but it was needed. Cleaned house then just vegged last night. Went to Lukieís Soccer game Sat morning. So cute watching the little ones play.

Brenda, you and Dee inspire me to keep going!

My son text me out of the blue the other day and said mom lets start back at the Y so we started back this morning. Meeting him there is giving me the get up and go to get it done.

Good Monday Morning!

The sun is shining!! It is looking and feeling like fall, except for the greener than green grass! We had another 1 1/2 inches of rain over the weekend. And chances again W, Th & F. Ugh! I guess it is better than snow which is a possibility as early as next week. NO! I guess, I can't control the weather!

Started cleaning and decluttering the basement. Got Jack's room done. I'm pretty sure he hasn't vacuumed in there for months. Vacuumed up a whole cat's worth of hair! Got the freezer defrosted and cleaned out. I hate that job but am thankful it is done! Now I know what I have and can meal plan accordingly. We lost power for about 2 hours on Saturday so that halted our basement cleaning for awhile.....little too dark!

I am overwhelmed with the amount of crap I need to do. I am trying to break things down into baby steps. This is so hard for me because I just want it done NOW! But I'm slower now than I used to be.

Jill- have a great time on your trip, wherever you end up!

Stephanie- good luck with weight watchers. I am really struggling with staying on track but I just don't have time or money to join any groups right now but I can see how that would help. I just need to make up my mind and remember I need to come first! Hardest part!

Brenda- You are doing great and we will get through the holidays with a losing streak! Only 3 months until Christmas!! AAAAAHHHHH!

Dee- Hope you are feeling better. You always inspire me. Keep going!

Tracy- Hope you had a good weekend and got in a little bit of driving without too much pain.

Kim- How was your weekend?

Hello to anyone I missed! Keep on going for it!! WE CAN DO THIS!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK ALL!

Things are going pretty good here. Made it through the past 4 days and was only 1 pound up. All the food and drink I thought I would be up a bunch.

Plan on leaving for Puerto Rico Thursday night with 4 other girl friends but looks like a hurricane is expected to hit there Wednesday and Thursday. Will have to see if we actually go or change plans and head somewhere else. Keeps life interesting.

Fall is kind of in the air - 80s most of the week but high of 69 Friday and then back up for the weekend. Only leaves lost so far has been those blasted by hail. Heard the mountains were starting to get a little color.

My plan is to get back to the gym a couple days before we leave and continue when I get back.

Have a great week to all of you.

Hello friends! I wish I had something exciting to report, but I don't. Just the same ole-same ole around here. I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but Laken was put on maternity leave because of her swelling. Hard to believe Baizley is due in less than a month now. So excited!

I decided to join Weight Watchers yesterday. I need the accountability of weighing in at a meeting, so I bit the bullet and joined. The leader was awesome, and everyone there was so nice. I don't like spending the extra money every month, but I can't do this on my own, because I make every excuse in the book when I don't have to weigh in front of someone. First Place for Health is a wonderful program, and I'll finish with the Bible study, but I don't plan on rejoining when it's over.

Dee - I hope you're feeling better!

Brenda - Do you use the Connect feature on WW? If you do, my username is wwstephanies. Shawn and I need to get on the ball and get a crib before the baby comes. I hope we get to babysit some before Matthew and Laken move to Starkville, MS in January. It's about 2.5 hours away.

Jill - How was the convention this week? I hope it wasn't too chaotic for you.

Kim - Glad you got your A/C fixed. I don't see how people lived without air conditioning. When Hurricane Katrina came through here and knocked out the power for two weeks, I thought I would melt. That's great the new medicine is working so well! Hope your cold goes away real soon.

Tracy - How was the hair appointment? I need to do something with mine. Continued prayers for your MRI this week! Please keep us posted.

Wendi - I wish you could send us some of your rain. It's sooooo dry here. A couple of days ago Jacob and I were out running some errands, and he said, "Look, mom. The leaves are falling. Maybe fall is almost here." And I replied, "No, sweetie. Those leaves are falling because they're dying from the heat." LOL! I didn't mean to be so blunt, but I don't think we'll see autumn around these parts for a few more weeks.

Laura - You take care of YOU! Hang in there! *HUGS*

Wishing you all a great week!

Stephanie

I'm thinking of going to Leavenworth tomorrow to Uber. There is a salmon festival going on and the place for the event is outside of town, so I'm thinking not everyone is going to want to drive and deal with parking. But it's beautiful out there this time of year. Rides would be short, but it would get me back out and about, which I'm really missing.

Going to meet my mom and oldest niece at India House today for lunch. They have the best lunch buffet....you get to try all kinds of different things and if no big deal if you don't like something. They have lots of yummy veggie dishes too. I love the complex spices.

I just scheduled a hair appointment for me on Sunday. So past due for a cut and my color needs attention too. Need to get back to Uber-ing so I can keep up my appearances emoticon

Have a great weekend!!!

Good Morning!

Dragging butt this morning. Slept great until 4. Then got up to go to the bathroom and couldn't get back to sleep after that. Ugh! Might have to sneak in a nap this afternoon.

Weekend looks to be low key here. With the rain we won't go to the lake so hoping to get some things done in the house. Everything is just a mess and it needs to be decluttered and cleaned. I'm attempting the basement (it is bad down there). Boys! Hopefully, I can get it in order and it can stay that way. How bad can it get with just one boy left??? emoticon

Brenda- Yay! Feels so good to be free of stuff!

Kim-so glad the medicine is helping. Sorry about the cold.

Laura-Hang in there and don't worry about us here. We will keep it going!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Tracy, jealous of your weather.

Wendi, you are being pounded with the rain that Is crazy.

Laura, you take care of you and what you need to do. We got your back here.

Brenda, I am so excited for you!

I am feeling so much better with this new medicine. Except I have managed to get Deeís cold. Luke was so very nice to share his with me. Poor little guy has been sick for over a week with this crap. But I would rather have a cold then deal with the other stuff I was dealing with.

What is everyones plans for the weekend? I am going to Lukieís soccer game in the morning then taking my cricut and all my toys to a place where I do bookkeeping for a client. Her 12 yr old really wants one and mom wants me to show her how it works. To see if she really likes it or if itís just something that she really wonít use. Then Sunday is going to be a low key day I think.

Have a great weekend all.

We're good Laura! Hang in there and get what you need to done!

I got all the baby clothes washed and am ready to donate most of it. It's been up in my attic since we moved. We thought we'd adopt another baby, but with the move and having to start another adoption, it just didn't happen.

It feels good to get rid of the excess stuff just sitting around in storage!

Tracy, Dee, Kim...hope you all get better soon!

Hi All! I'm coming to the conclusion that I should just admit that my MBA classes are kicking my booty and SP time is going to be a premium. Thank you to our core members for keeping things going. I'll try to catch up soon. I'm getting into countdown range - 11 weeks left. I'll try to catch up Friday or Saturday.

Keep it going ladies and please let me know if there is anything you all need.

Hey all!

Warming up here today.....around 80 but the humidity is up there so muggy. Rain is supposed to start tonight and go through Saturday. They are forecasting over 2 inches for here again. My back yard looks like a jungle of weeds. Ugh! Did get a little bit done in the house today. Caught up on dishes and doing laundry. But doing that I neglected the phone for the business. He is scheduled 2 weeks out right now and people get crabby.....ugh, I hate it. He is only one person people.......sorry!

My next job is uncovering my desk again. It seems to be a catch all and I'm sick of it!!

Tracy- I wish you could get some relief from the pain! Hopefully hubby will help!

Kim- We had 3 days of 90s....I hate hot plus higher humidity(which isn't really normal here in the tundra) but has been crazy this summer.

Brenda- I didn't save too much of the boys baby stuff. But I'm sure I would be a crying fool if I had to go through it. Just keep your most precious things. Good luck.

I'm ready to purge again. Where does all this stuff come from???

I guess I better get something done before the day is over. Have a great one all!

We are in the low 70's and upper 60's for the next week. I noticed some bushes starting to change colors, but not many trees yet. I suppose that could change quickly!

Glad you are feeling a little better Dee emoticon

Back is really hurting today again. It woke me up about 1am today and I tried getting back to sleep but couldn't...so I moved to my recliner and was able to fall asleep. So tired of the constant pain emoticon

I was super lazy last night and grabbed a cheapo little cesars pizza for dinner. it met the needs, but certainly wasn't any kind of healthy. Tonight I need to be in the kitchen again ....somehow I need to figure out how to get DH helping with cooking again.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Roll out the potatoes! I love a baked potato topped with chili or taco meat. I might add that to my menu plan.
The trees are beginning to change around here. I love the cooler temperatures and colorful leaves.
I still have a stuffy nose and yucky cough, but the worse is the sinus headache. Getting better. Thanks for checking on me.

I'm ready for some Happy Walking!

Fun weather Wendi! We're in the upper 70's and on the weekend it's supposed to get in the low '80's. Still sunny and nice!

We took out everything we had when Kevin was a baby and I'm washing everything. I've got to figure out what to keep and what to donate!

Hey everyone! I thought I had posted on here but must have just thought about it! lol! It has been crazy around here as usual. So after our almost 4 inches of rain last week it turned dang hot for 3 days! Showers and cooler today and more rain for the weekend. They are forecasting a late frost however, so that is good news. My grass is greener than it has been all summer! The tree across the street is losing its leaves though. I can't believe it is already into the second half of September! I'm so far behind on everything!! I got to get it together before basketball season starts the end of October! oof--I better find some ambition!

I just skimmed everyone's posts but hope everyone is doing well. I will try to keep up now!

Have a great day!

Kim - Glad you got your A/C back!

Dee - How's your cold? I hope you're feeling better.

Tracy - Hang in there!!

I love potatoes - especially with toppings! I want to go to potato days!! You'd have to roll me out...like a potato!

I finished my cruise photo album and washed all of Kevin's crib bumpers, quilt, etc, and bassinet skirt/liner that I made for him when he was born. I'm going to use them at my house when I start babysitting my grandbaby!

mm...love potatoes! too much..lol With the start of the school year, Stazia (teaching) they are passing colds around their home..boys get it and then she does and around it goes. Hope you feel better soon!

Wow...can I relate to emotional eating emoticon emoticon My mind is a horrible place to be sometimes! I have to find a way to disconnect the EE from the pain association. When my back is really hurting, which seems most of the time, I eat for comfort. How do you change a 40ish year habit like that?! I'm hoping that I will see some light at the end of this tunnel, my MRI is one week from today...so hoping that will get me on a treatment plan with some relief and my life can return to some form of normalcy.

I used to love bowling. Wasn't great but we always had fun...and thats what matters the most!

I hope everyone has a great day!!

Kim -- glad you're cool again. Although, you're always "cool" to us! emoticon
Brenda -- I saw episode one of the Brady House renovation. They sure are paying attention to every little detail. Fun to reminisce.

I have A/C thank you to my boyfriend. LOL he got home at 2:30 yesterday from vacation and had us fixed by 4. Gotta love friends. That was miserable for sure. Can someone please tell me how they did it before air?

Dee, oh no sorry you caught the kiddies cold that just stinks.

Stephanie, yep I sure did. Those boys make my heart smile that is for sure. Funny how we love our hubbyís just donít want them around all the time. LOL I totally understand. My husband gets bored after a couple of days and starts driving me nuts.

Jill, sounds as though you had a wonderful weekend.

Brenda, I was going to watch that and totally forgot I may have to get It on demand. I watched every episode when I was little as well. It amazes me that the house is actually a 1 story house and not 2. (heard on the radio).

Hello everyone! Hope everyone has a great day today!

Oh no, Dee! You're not supposed to get sick already! I hope it goes away quickly!

I haven't been bowling for years, but love it. We went bowling for fun, birthday parties, dates, etc. The most recent bowling is on my Wii... LOL

We're watching the first episode of "A Very Brady Renovation" on HGTV where they've bought the original house from the Brady Bunch and are transforming it back to the look of the show. Fascinating! I watched every episode when I was a kid, so it's fun to see.

Definitely not a steady bowler. Today I bowled a 166, 98, and a 134.
Saturday went to Zumba and then my girlfriend and I went to Potato Days. It is held at the Centennial Village in town and they serve baked potatoes with assorted toppings. We walked around and went through most of the historic buildings they have there. Felt sorry for the cavalrymen as it was 90+ degrees and they were dressed in wool but it was fun to watch their routine.
Sunday spent the day at the Moose Lodge with great friends, couple grandkids, daughter-in-law and my wonderful husband.

This week will be chaotic as it is the Moose State Convention at our Lodge.

Hoping those who are dealing with those dang colds, backs, and other health issues find some relief

Laura glad you are enjoying your new job.

Hi to the Gutter Queens on this team. emoticon emoticon

I hope everyone is safe from the storms. Tornadoes, hurricanes, hail, heat waves... something put Mother Nature in a bad mood.

I've been back to work for 9 days and already caught a horrible head cold. The dangers of working in an elementary school. I overate all weekend. Why do I believe that "feed a cold" myth? Emotional eating.

Stephanie - glad you found a support group. Laura - glad you found a little time to relax and chat. You are one busy lady. Tracy and Kim - take care of those health issues.

Let's head down the healthy and fit path!

Hello friends. Nothing new to report from my neck of the woods. Same ole-same ole. Shawn goes back to work tomorrow, and I'm SOOOOOO glad. I love the man, but I need my house back to myself. LOL.

Brenda - Are you doing WW online or going to meetings? That is so sweet about you going through Kevin's things for the baby. I need to do that with Matthew's things before Baizley gets here.

Laura - So glad work is going well and you had a good birthday! What movie did you see?

Cherrie - Thank you for the encouragement!

Wendi - Where did you watch the Getting Organized HQ Summit? I'm very OCD when it comes to organization. Drives Shawn crazy sometimes. LOL.

Kim - Did you have a good weekend with your babies? (That's a stupid question. I have no doubt you did). I hope the new medicine works well for you. Oh no about the A/C! Oh my gosh...I would DIE if ours went out. It's been over 100 degrees here all week. Fingers crossed you can get yours fixed quickly! *HUGS*

Tracy - I just have to ditto what Laura said. Hopefully, they will be able to find the least invasive way to deal with the mass. You're in my continued prayers.

Have a wonderful week!

Stephanie

Laura, you are going to love it. I am anxious to see what you make first and how much you are going to love it! I just dragged out my air fryer the other day, I forgot all about it. LOL I made some chicken nuggets with it so much quicker than oven baking and a lot tastier than frying them.

Jill, I would love to bowl but like Laura, I am a gutter ball queen. When I was little my parents use to bowl all the time with leagues. So we got to go once in a while and play at the alley. But, I never learned.

Tracy, donít take too much into reading the MRI yourself and googling. That is asking for stress on yourself. I did the same thing and the doc laughed at me and said you are making a mole hill into a mountain. I know I know itís hard to wait but sometimes waiting is better than trying to research ourselves. I have learned that with my recent health issues.

Brenda, the new meds are seeming to help. So like I thought in the beginning I believe it is acid reflux and indigestion. Thatís my story and I am sticking with it. LOL At least with the heart cath, we know my heart is good!

Our A/C went out yesterday and it was 90 yesterday and will be 90 again today. Doesnít make for fun sleeping. Why havenít we gotten it fixed yet? Well my A/C guy is on vacation till tomorrow. He is also our best friend so we get parts and labor free. He had one piece we needed at his house so we went and got it and put it in only to find out that the fan motor blew out as well. UGH so we are going to go and spend most of the day with the kids. Not that we need an excuse to do that but we have one lol Have a great day everyone!

Kim - Hope they figure out what's going on... sending prayers! Glad you got to unwind with your kiddos and have some fun!

Laura - Yep... that's my kitty Maui! She's a black Angora that we rescued. She'd love to have your kitties come play! In the pic she's sitting on her 3 story scratching post...plenty of room!

Tracy - So glad you got to unwind and camp with family! So sorry about the mass and am sending prayers that it gets taken care of easily!

My son & DIL had us, my mom, sis and her daughter & SIL over for dinner tonight. Tons of fun talking, laughing and sitting outside around the fire ring.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Happy Friday!!

I was able to take yesterday afternoon off and hubby and I went to visit my parents that were out camping this week. It was about an hour drive and it was so pretty up there. They were along a creek and in the woods. Perfect weather, mid 70's and sunny. They where is a beautiful canyon along the Wenatchee River, so its always a beautiful drive. It was so nice getting out of the house...been stuck inside too much with my back.

I am ready for the weekend. Tired of waking up to an alarm..lol Supposed to be mid 70's and partly cloudy moving to rain on Sun/Mon. I plan on cleaning my car at lunch time in hopes of being able to Uber some tomorrow.

Yesterday afternoon I was able to read the MRI report. Its slightly terrifying! I had to google some terms and stuff, but it scares the heck out of me to be honest. The mass on my spine is 8x8x13mm (13mm is just over 1/2"), so its there. And then where that mass is pressing on my spinal cord, the spinal canal is pressed down to only 3mm. After reading that the average size is about 15mm for the spinal canal. No wonder I'm having major issues!! Thanks for listening to me.....i'm sure I go on about this too much...but I keep too much in my mind

I hope everyone has a great day and fabulous weekend!

Catching up on all the posts I missed this week:

Dee - love the Fall Bucket List - maybe we should put that challenge out to everyone! I'm able to check off some already.

Tracy - we have the recliners too. I think they are just getting close to adding the food service to them. Love love love those seats. For the first time I don't feel cramped by the end of a movie.

Jill - hope the bowling was good. I am the gutter queen so I'd be the one watching you all bowl. However, I do think I bowl better when I'm drunk. LOL Enjoy it!

Stephanie - it amazes me the things they have come up with for babies these days. Thinking back to when we were kids, parents today would probably think parenting was tortuous for our parents. Baby wipes was a washcloth and some soap. Along with cloth diapers.

Dee - I'd love that outdoor party! Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes.

Stephanie - keep us posted on how First Place 4 Health goes for you. I haven't heard of that around here but that may not mean much.

Jill - I have a friend in Sioux Falls. She only had some minor stuff but her uncle had a huge tree come down on his garage effectively killing his brand new car inside. She said the devastation in some areas is unbelievable.

Hi Brenda - Cam Maui come out and play? Is that actually Maui in your profile pic?

Wendy - I'm hoping next week will be better for sleep as well. I have been making too many trips to the bathroom in the night. It is frustrating.

Kim - haven't gotten my Rootitoots cookbook yet but my cooker is being dropped off tonight so I'm going to try it out this weekend. Have to make some room on my counter for it. A taco pie sounds great.

emoticon Whew! I think I'm officially caught up! I'm loving all these postings!!!

Where did my post go? I swear I posted it? Hum I am going to go looking for it. LOL Found it it was under the wrong thread ugh.

Oh Laura, I am thinking about you. I know exactly how you feel my dear! Please Please take some time for yourself so you donít burn out. I am not sure what your first dish should be. What do you love to make that is time consuming? I think you said you ordered Rootitoots cookbook. If you like tacoís you should try her taco pie. I make it frequently. I do however add a lot more cheese!

Cherrie, Thanks for that I didnít know it was National Day of Encouragement.

Stephanie, Enjoy your time with hubby. I know that doesnít happen often.

Wendi and Jill darn weather !

Dee, great website. I am going to sign up for the emails right now.

Went to family doc today since we have ruled out my heart, we are going to try yet another anti acid pill and he upped my Effexor to see if stress is what is causing my issue. With looney toons and these stores my stress level is through the roof obviously. So fingers crossed this fixes the issues.

What is everyone up to this weekend? My babies invited me to go to dinner with them tomorrow evening While Papaw has a football game to attend (he works all the home high school games) so they are taking me to McDonalds. Ours demolished and rebuilt so they want to go. So I get to have wonderful hickdonlds as Lukie use to call it. I am telling your now, I will enjoy every minute. Just because they invited me and I will be with my 2 favorite boys! Then Saturday we have Soccer in the morning then football in the afternoon. Not sure what Sunday will bring but I am sure it will be low key.

Laura - So glad you love your new job! No worries about checking in here so much...take care of yourself first!

Cherrie - Thanks for the info on Encouragement Day!

Wendi - I'm still trying to clear things out and pare down! Every chance I get, I'm working on it! We can do this!

I finished my photo album from our cruise today. My mom and I both did two of them...she did hers and my brother's, and I did mine and my sister's!

Yesterday I pulled out everything from my hope chest that I saved from when Kevin was a baby. I made a crib quilt, bumper pads, a bassinet cover and skirt, etc. Going to figure out if anything can be used.

Good luck on weigh in... it's Friday Fun Day!!

GREAT JOB EVERYONE! KEEP IT UP!! emoticon emoticon

So it's still raining here......all day! Very soggy around here. Soup night!

Stephanie--I don't think there were any deaths or serious injuries. Still so scary and such a mess!

Laura-glad you are enjoying your job. Hope you get some more sleep! I have been doing better with sleep but I do have a harder time getting back to sleep after I get up to go to the bathroom. So frustrating.

Jill-glad your family was ok after the tornadoes.

I've been watching the Getting Organized HQ Summit this week and am getting some good tips for purging and organizing. I need to do it! But I really wish I could figure a system for parts in my office. Stuff gets piled in here and in the living room. Sick of boxes!! My husband is not very organized! So we shall see!

I better get busy and get something more done before I relax for the evening!

National Day of Encouragement in the United States is observed on September 12. It was first announced in 2007 and has been celebrated each year ever since.
National Day of Encouragement was launched by the Encouragement Foundation at Harding University, a private liberal arts Christian university in the city of Searcy, Arkansas. This day is dedicated to uplifting people around us and making a positive impact. On September 12, Americans are expected to make deliberate acts of encouragement, offering reassurance and inspiration to those who need it.
What exactly can you do on National Day of Encouragement to lift someone's spirits? You can high five at least three people, tell someone ďgreat jobĒ if they deserve it, contact a family member or a friend you haven't talked to for a while, help your friends along if they need it. And don't forget to smile because a sincere smile is one of the most encouraging things in the world.

Hi everyone! I am SO behind on everything!!! I think I know how Kim feels the week before April 15th. Finally taking a short work break to catch my breath and catch up for the week.

THANK YOU for such a warm outpouring of birthday wishes. I did make time for dinner and a movie out on Sunday, but that threw me behind for homework. I do have to say that the master's classes are so much more demanding than my previous courses. Lots of papers and presentations each week. 12 more weeks and I'm done.

Work is going great. Finally starting to get some projects to work on that are filling up my time. I'm really going to like working here and the co-workers are a wonderful group. Don't have a lot of time today to catch up on everyone's posts, but I'll have more time tomorrow and this weekend so forgive me. I hope everyone is well. I've been wanting to get on here all week - just didn't have time. Barely getting 5 hours of sleep most nights. Take care and will catch up tomorrow.
