Hello friends! Just wanted to stop by and wish you all a very happy and blessed new year! I don't know about you, but I'm ready to see this year come to an end. There's something exciting about a fresh new year - kind of like a clean slate, you know? I have no doubt we'll reach our goals in 2020. We can do this!

Stay safe if you'll be out celebrating tonight. Please don't drink and drive! I'll come back next year and catch up on the posts. *wink*

Good Morning How is everyone doing this weekend? Been pretty good here with eating but definitely need to move more.

I did make it to the gym one day and then we got snow. I do not drive when it is cold and icy. I have always lived in cold, snowy, icy weather and driven in it because of work and kidís stuff but now I donít have to so I donít. Also donít trust other drivers as so many go so fast and have no clue how to drive on ice or snow.

The year is fast coming to a close so enjoy the last days of 2019

Stephanie, Not my Circus, not my monkeys is a great mantra! I have been using it for a while now. It was my bosses mantra as well. Glad you had a great day with Baizley. And the kids of course. I am super proud of Kaitlyn. She has such a great heart.

Jill, darn it they need to move closer to you. Like down the road. We shouldnít have to put our babies on the plane. (I know not realistic, sounded good though). Have a great time at the moose!

Brenda, 2 babies in the family. You are about to have a loud fun filled life! Itís just no where near as fun when there arenít little ones around. Sorry you arenít feeling well, I hope that you are on the mend now.

We had a awesome Christmas. The boys totally made it a great day! Luke was so into opening everything! Where Leo opened the food papaw made him and he was done. He wanted to play said he didnít want anymore presents. He was so funny took us a good half hour to get him to open anything else. But he finally did and about lost his mind over the food truck. So needless to say we played. I had Beyblade battles with Lukie while Leo made us all kinds of food. I was super impressed with my son. He didnít touch his presents until an hour or so after the boys got all theirs opened up. HE was totally into them. Made my heart swell! We all waited or opened in between but Matthew totally waited till they were really into playing with something. And didnít need his help. It was such a great day!

Have a great last weekend of the year ladies!

Stephanie - I hope you had a good dinner with your mom and family. Loved "Not my circus - not my monkeys"... I'm going to have to use that one! Glad you had tons of fun with Baizley!

Tracy - So sorry you've had a bad year, but 2020 is a new start. We're here with you! Wishing you a happy and healthy year!

Jill - Sounds like you're having a fun weekend... enjoy!

We had a fun Christmas with the family - the last time with just adults. Next year we'll have 2 kiddos in the family...so much fun!

Yesterday I was down for the count with laryngitis...so tired that I couch surfed and slept on and off all day.

Today I felt better so we did a little after Christmas shopping. Deals, deals, deals!

Have a fun weekend!!

Stephanie really hope dinner went well with your mom last night. Will be nice to have Miss Baizley closer. I missed my little granddaughter before she even got on the plane to head home.

Tracy so sorry you have been having a crappy time. wishing you a much better 2020.

Going to be at the MOOSE Lodge most of 5he weekend. Potluck and Social Quarterís bingo tonight. That is always so much fun and definitely not for serious bingo players. Saturday is steak night and a Texas Hold ĎEm tournament

Been doing pretty good - been cleaning up my diet and moving more

Hello to all MIA steppers and have a great weekend.

I"m happy that the holidays are just about over. It was a pretty rough year and just didn't feel like Christmas and that continued when Christmas was postponed until Saturday because the grandkids are sick. emoticon It just sucked all the way around. We never put up any decorations either between hubby's severe depression and mine....no bueno. I hadn't realized how much I had been looking forward to our yearly tradition of dad's fancy birthday Christmas dinner and that time with family. Ended up having a big meltdown yesterday afternoon.

Today's a new day. Feeling tired but ready to move forward. I'm looking forward to getting back to the basics. I feel like I've been running at high speed and on auto pilot. I've eaten nothing but convenient garbage foods most of the year as I turned back to emotional eating. So I'm a hot mess right now and ready to get back to me.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Hello friends! I hope you all had a great Christmas! Other than some drama created by my mother Tuesday (long story), ours was good. We're having dinner with her, my stepdad and his family tonight, and I'm REALLY dreading it. I just want it over with. I know that may sound terrible, but she starts a lot of unnecessary drama (always has), and I'm just tired of it. I think my mantra for 2020 will be, "Not my circus - not my monkeys."

Anyway...moving on...

Baizley got a ton of gifts, and we had the best time celebrating with her. I'm kind of sad about them moving this weekend, but I'm thankful they'll be closer than Matthew was in Huntsville. Thank goodness for Facetime and Skype.

Wendi - Prayers for safe travels to Billings!

Brenda - I can't wait for you to cuddle your grandbaby next Christmas! It's an awesome feeling.

Kim - I know you must be so proud of Kaitlyn. What a wonderful thing she does for those families!

Jill - Totally agree. I tell you ladies things I never tell another soul. I think the world of all of you!

Hello Laura! *waving*

Has anyone heard from Dee? I'm worried about her.

Have a good weekend!

Stephanie

Hereís wishing you all the very Merriest of Christmases!!! I am so blessed to have you all as a part of my family. Though we have never and may never meet in person, I consider you all a part of my family! Thank you all for always being there when I need to come and vent. I truly enjoy coming on here and catching up with everyone!

Laura, thank you for making this a place for us to come and visit with each other! I am hoping your mouth is much better today!

Stephanie, enjoy Miss Baizley! Get all those hugs and kisses you can get. Kaitlyn will be here this evening. I am excited. She met her goal for the kettles this year $125,000 and she helped 957 Families with 3000 kids and still has toys in her warehouse! I am so proud of her! She is truly exhausted though that is for sure. Oh the meeting we shall see. I had a talk with the social worker after she walked out of the room and she agrees with me that my mom doesnít need to go home. So hopefully they can figure this out. My mother is bed bound by choice. She doesnít want to get up and move. It is so aggravating!

Wendi, Yay glad you got all your wrapping done. That is the worst chore. I love to shop and I love to bake goodies but wrapping is not my thing especially with Doug he is truly too anal when it comes to wrapping. And I get in the way. So let him do it. LOL

Brenda, I can hardly wait for next Christmas for you!!! I am telling you my dear your life is about to change by leaps and bounds and you are totally going to love it! And I will send Doug to help you wrap you are going to need him next year LOL

First, I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! I'm so glad I found this team 10+ years ago - you're all awesome! Wishing everyone a successful and Happy New Year!

I ran a few errands, prepped some of my food today, set the table, and had some fun making gingerbread houses with Mom and Belinda.

Tomorrow we're vacuuming, finishing wrapping a couple of things, and then going to Kevin & Ashley's for the 7 fishes dinner with her family. Busy!

Laura - Yes... I'm getting an implant since it's my first bicuspid and shows when I smile. Good luck with yours!

Kim - Have fun with your stinky boys! You're lucky that your hubby wraps the gifts...wish mine did!

Jill - Glad you had a great time with the kids! Good for you getting back on track right away... I'm going to do that too!

Stephanie - Have a great time cuddling that new grandbaby!

Wendi - Have a wonderful time celebrating with your family!

Just a quick hello. So busy trying to get things ready for Christmas and then to leave on Thursday to go to my folks. We are doing Christmas Eve day at Mike's folks with his sisters and nieces and nephews at noon tomorrow. We will probably go to church at 4:30 and then head back over to his folks. His one sister and the kids are leaving about 5 to go home. We are having Christmas day at our house for his folks and his sister and us. VERY laid back. Then we are planning on leaving Thursday morning for Billings. Will be there a week. I don't know how much I will be on but know I wish you all the MERRIEST OF CHRISTMASES!! Have a great one!

Kim- did get the wrapping done!
Brenda- the boys did the baking--peanut blossums, cake mix cookies and caramel corn, oh and almond bark pretzels.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Hello friends! Going to be another busy week. Matthew and Laken are coming to spend the night with us tomorrow. I'm SO glad they'll be here with us for Christmas. I can't wait to cuddle with Baizley again.

Wendi - I'm so glad your boys are home and doing well. I've heard about the Christian planner, and I believe I saw it on Amazon. I'll have to check again.

Brenda - Congrats on Motivator of the Day! That's awesome.

Jill - Love love love the pictures! Your grandchildren are adorable!

Laura - Ain't that the truth? Turning 50 definitely isn't for wimps. LOL!

Kim - How did the meeting go with the care team? Good, I hope. I know you and Kaitlyn will have the best time. Have fun shopping!

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! I'm so thankful I joined this group, and I'm looking forward to spending 2020 with you all and sharing our successes. Hugs and love!

Thank you all for your kind words - my grandkids are my world. Everyone went out for breakfast this morning before Grant, Sara, and Savannah left for the airport as they headed home to Texas today. I miss them already.

Had a great time but really enjoying the peace and quiet today. I worked in the office for a few hours catching up on stuff.

My plan is to run a few errands and hopefully go to the gym. My goal is to get back there at least 2x this week.

Wendi, Did you get your wrapping finished? Doug did all of ours. I was in his way. Didn't hurt my feelings at all. LOL Tubes would be a tremendous help for Leo but for whatever reason she just doesnít want too. Matthew had them when he was little and it made a massive difference for him.

Jill, I am so jealous. Look at all those babies you get to spoil!!! And I am sure you do every chance you get. I know I would They are adorable!! So very glad you get to spend this time with all of them!

Laura, bless your heart. You have been through the wringer with your tooth and then your back. You are suppose to be celebrating not in pain. The care team at the rehab/nursing home is meeting with the family today. Momís step husband didnít want us to know about it. But I seen the papers on a table in momís room so I read them. You can bet your bootie I will be there! I tried to make her a appointment to get her hair done and nails and she threw a fit like you wouldnít believe so nix that idea. Lasagna soup? Do share the recipe.

The boys spent the weekend in PA with their other grandparents so we were able to get all our gifts wrapped and put into their basement ready for santa to come. I canít wait! I still have to go and buy some new jammies. We wear jammies in the morning then come home and nap and then go back. Kaitlyn is coming home tomorrow. I canít wait to see her. She will be home till Friday so we are planning on doing some shopping while she is here.

Hubby did all the wrapping! He is anal about it and apparently, I was getting in his way soooo have at it big boy. LOL

So much to catch up on!

Oral sugeon went fine. He looked like Sheldon from Big Bang only with more hair. I couldn't look at him and keep a straight face. I'm assuming Brenda that you are having an implant put in. That will probably be the only remedy to fix this now that I lost an anchor tooth for the bridge. Will face that decision next year after this heals. You will have to let me know how that worked for you.

Km - glad that your mom is somewhere she can get the attention she needs. It always seems strange when we become the caregivers for our parents. Many hugs and prayers for your and your mom. Things will settle in soon. I finally started my wrapping yesterday so I hear you on that one.

Wendi - I have a card table set up with all my baking stuff piled on it. Haven't started yet. Don't really need much for Xmas day but my family xmas will be on the 29th so I have all week to bake. What did you end up making this weekend?

Jill - I need to come to your house. I love crab! Don't get too much here in Iowa. I think that everyone has their own traditions for holiday dinners. On hubby's side, we just get together for a luncheon with his sisters and mom. Usually pulled pork and we all bring sides. Since there are only 6 of us, we don't usually make too much. On my side, my mom used to try to do a big dinner like thanksgiving, but we finally convinced her that it was way too much work and that she needed to enjoy the day with the rest of us instead of slaving in the kitchen. We decided to keep things simple and since their passing, my brother and I decided that we would make a couple of home made soups and then order a meat/cheese platter for sandwiches. We then have a lot of munchies - veggie tray, salmon ball, chex mix and Christmas goodies to munch on throughout the day. We can put the soups in crockpots and everyone can help themselves when they get hungry. I think this year we are having a loaded baked potato soup, lasagna soup and cheddar broccoli.

Stephanie - I understand the gift bags. There are times I think it would be so much easier. I usually use those for people's birthdays. I don't mind wrapping. Got fairly good at it when my brother was in high school and his band would man the gift wrapping booth at Sears to raise money for their band trips. We all took turns working the booth. Weirdest thing I had to wrap was a snow shovel that a guy was giving his wife for Christmas. Not sure how well that gift went over. LOL I can't help you on the meds. Again, maybe TMI but I had an issue at about your age when I couldn't stop my periods. After having one for 2 months in length, I was becoming anemic and ended up having an ablation done. That ended it all for me and haven't had to deal with it since. Still went through "menopause" symptoms but that was it. I swear we turn 50 and we start to fall apart. Hope you get it all figured out.

Jill - what a pack of cuties! Looks like the best kind of day to have. Hope they were enjoying it too.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Poor Leo...I used to have earaches all the time as a kid. Sending prayers that he gets better soon!

Stephanie - Sometimes it's so hard for Mom's to let their babies cry, but it just makes it harder. They all have to learn on their own, right? Enjoy your kiddo!

Wendi - Sounds like your boys are doing well. Good job, Mom!

I just found out that I was Motivator of the Day...cool beans! Today hubby and I shopped a little, then went driving around with Mom and sis to see Christmas lights. Now we're watching a Hallmark Christmas movie. I hope everyone is having some Christmas fun!!

Hi all! Busy wrapping this afternoon but still not done. Tyler came home last night and Joel got here tonight. I'm so glad to have them home. Tyler is starting a new job with the census bureau on Jan 2nd. He will basically be putting all the data collected into the computer. He also registered for spring semester at the local college as well. He is taking online classes in cybersecurity and networking. I pray it goes well for him. Joel just finished his 1st semester and he has done well. He loves it there.

Stephanie- I'm 52 and my periods have been about every 4 months for the last couple years. Finally it has been about 6 months since I've had one. I would say no to the pills. I'm due for mammogram as well but think i will qait until we get back from my folks. The planner i got this year is the christian planner. I haven't used there's before but the gals in my bible study really like it. I've been working on my vision board and goals for the year. They have a very active facebook group.

Kim-tubes are for sure the way to go. Joel had numerous ear infections they figure when he was little. Kid never complained so we didn't even know until he wasn't talking. We had tubes put in and it helped so much but it took a long time for him to learn to talk right.

Jill- have a blast with your family!

Brenda- i would love your help! It would be so fun to be able to do that!

Well i best get back at it! Have a great weekend!

Good morning, friends! After staying up with Baizley four out of the five nights she was here with us, I slept like a log last night. Laken rarely lets her sleep in her crib, so she cries now when someone isnít constantly holding her. I warned Laken this would happen, but she wouldnít listen to me. Oh well.

Brenda - That was my thinking too! If Iím going through menopause I donít understand why I need these pills. It doesnít make sense to me. Iíll send a message to the nurse and try to get some answers.

Kim - Poor Leo! I wish his mom would let him get tubes. Both of my boys got them when they were a year old, and it made such a huge difference.

Have a great day!

Stephanie

Wendi, I am there with you although I am not a huge fan of wrapping. I am going to spend most of the day doing that tomorrow. UGH Goodness what a mess that basketball team sounds Although I am with you on him being on one of the 4 other teams. He will get tons of playing time that way! And he will be a lot better than the kids on the A&B teams because of it. There is no way my mother will stay there. She is too dependent on her husband. If he isnít there she wonít stay. We have been through this before. She will do what she has to, to get to go home and then get home and do nothing! Its ridiculous

Jill, Yes it is I am praying that she does what she really needs to do and doesnít ďfakeĒ it this time. I am going to talk to the nurses and going to the salon there to get something done with her hair. Hopefully there is something they can do! Itís so matted to the back of her head I am not sure what they will be able to do but my fingers are crossed. Can I come to your house for Christmas dinner? Sounds yummy. We still havenít nailed down what we are doing or having, I need to get with my daughter in law for sure.

Stephanie, I have always heard that when you stop/slow down on periods that you are entering perimenopause? And close to 50 is generally when that wonderful fun part of our lives happens? Glad your mammogram came back great. I am having mine the day after Christmas. You didnít ask me but I LOVE my Happy Planner. I need to get a new one for the New Year. Yes, it was the first stroke that changed my mother so drastically. She is totally a different person than she was. And please donít ever feel nosy. I am an open book. LOL The first stroke took her peripheral vison so she wasnít allowed to drive anymore. And it took her short term memory. ( But I know she remembers what she wants too). And really just changed her personality truly. She would have died before she let herself get this way before that first stroke 4 years ago. She was a prim and proper lady dressed to the nines. She literally had 3 closets full of clothes! Sorry I could go on for hours. Enjoy miss Baizley on Christmas. She is going to make your Christmases so fun moving forward. I canít wait till Christmas. Leo is old enough to understand now and Luke loves it!

Brenda, can I send you all the ingredients to make the cookies? I just donít have time. I am so bad, I didnít even send out Christmas cards. How was the movie? What did you see? What type of cookies did you make?? I wouldnít be able to not eat them.

Laura, how is your mouth doing my dear?

I got called to pick up the boys yesterday I am telling you Leo just can Ďt stay well. He started complaining about his right ear hurting so daddy took him to the doctor and he has yet another ear infection. I am praying that mommy will let them put tubes in his ears. It will help this tremendously. So far she has resisted and he just stays sick all winter long.
So we went home took a nap and played games with Lukie. They just love playing games. I am so glad Christmas is here, Kaitlyn bought them a ton of new games to play! We need them for sure. I will shut up now, I have rambled on and on. Off to get ready for my Christmas work party. The bosses daughter is treating us to a nail appointment. Have a great day all!

Jill - YUM!! Can we come to your house for Christmas? There's only 8 of us!

Kim - I'm glad your mom got placed in the nursing home. I know this has ūüźĚ frustrating for you...hope it all goes well now.

Wendi - I just sorted and started to wrap a few of my gifts today...the tree looked bare! I baked 2 types of cookies tonight. Do you want me to come over and help? It would be fun to do it together!

Stephanie - Glad you're having so much fun with your family! In regards to taking Provera, ask your doc why he's giving it to you. It sounds like you're going through menopause, so I don't know why you need it. My mom and sister we're about 45 when they went through it and they didn't take anything. I had a hysterectomy at 31, so I only take an estrogen supplement. Good luck!

Getting things done today! Donated a ton of stuffed animals and Christmas items to Goodwill, then came home to sort gifts and wrapped a few before baking a couple of different types of cookies. Tomorrow I'm finishing wrapping and baking! Holiday fun!!

Hello again, friends! Well, Matthew, Laken, and Baizley left around 11:30 this morning, and my house sure has felt empty without them. On a good note though, they'll be back next Tuesday to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with us. (YAY!) This weekend is going to be very busy because I have to finish my Christmas shopping. Ugh...dread that. I'm determined to get DONE so I can spend next week enjoying the holiday.

I'm sorry if this is TMI, but...I had my annual checkup Tuesday with my gynecologist, and my mammogram was normal, but I haven't heard anything from my pap exam. He wants to put me on Provera to regulate my periods. (I've only had about four this whole year). Are any of you taking it? I'm not thrilled about it because, honestly, I've really enjoyed not having my period every month. I'm almost 50 years old, and I'm ready for this stuff to be over with once and for all.

Jill - I bet you're busy snuggling your granddaughter right now. Enjoy every second! I hope Baizley takes dance lessons when she gets older. I took tap and ballet when I was 8-10 years old and loved it. It would be so much fun going to her performances!

Wendi - What kind of planner do you use? I'm thinking about buying a Happy Planner. I believe you can buy them at Hobby Lobby. I think that will help a lot toward setting my goals for the new year. I'm glad Mike is doing okay. Poor Jack! Has his lip healed? I would love to have a non-traditional meal this Christmas, but our families are stubborn about having the same ole-same ole. Just once I would love to have a Mexican or Italian feast for Christmas. I'm glad they changed up the basketball teams. I'm sure it will be easier for everyone, and that's always a plus.

Kim - Oh my goodness. Was it the stroke that made your mom's personality change so drastically? I don't mean to be nosy. I'm just curious how she went from being so active socially to being an agoraphobic. I know that must frustrate you so much. I would be frustrated too. I hope she does good in the nursing home and decides to stay. Much hugs and love to you! I LOVE the pictures! Those are so awesome, and how wonderful Leo went straight to Santa! Melts my heart.

Laura - Oh no! I'm sorry about your tooth. How did it go with the oral surgeon? *HUGS* Love the picture! Congratulations! I'm SO proud of you!

Brenda - I hope the shot will help with Mike's pain. Is it similar to a cortisone shot? I bet you will have so much fun babysitting your grandson. I doubt Matthew and Laken will live close by after he graduates from college next December. He'll have a bachelor's degree in computer science, and there just aren't any jobs in his field in this small rural area. He'll probably move back to Huntsville and work for the same company he's been interning with. What movie did you see?

I'm wrapping gifts tomorrow, so I can figure out if I'm missing something and add it to my shopping list for this weekend. I despise wrapping. I much prefer gift bags. LOL. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Stephanie

Must be a big relief Kim to have her where she can get the care and attention she needs. Aging parents is very stressful

Wendi we too have such a huge family. My mom has 19 grandkids and 21 great grandkids. Be nice to spend the cold days in town for games and not have to be on the road. Enjoy

Every year for Christmas dinner we have lobster, king crab, and shrimp and usually prime rib for non seafood eaters. This year we are having bbq instead of prime rib. I ordered ribs, sausage and brisket from Kansas City Joeís in Missouri. We have eaten there 3x and loved their food. Also ordered crawfish tails from Louisiana because grandson Clayton loves them.

Today meeting girlfriends for lunch and then son and family from Texas will be here this evening. Yahoo

Good Morning!

I'm trying to get up some gumption to go into my pile of Christmas gifts and sort so I can start wrapping I love wrapping but I'm not so up on the sorting!

Stephanie-so glad you had the time with the kids but I get having a routine!

Kim- Glad to hear they got your mom in the nursing home. Maybe she will like it and decide to stay! So frustrating when you don't know what's going on! So they changed the basketball teams now. They took the top 19 and put them on 2 teams A & B- they will play other teams in the area. Then they took the 31 other kids and are splitting them into 4 C teams. They will play each other and C teams from the other two middle schools in town. He was not in the top 19 but that is good in a lot of ways. He will get lots of playing time and he will be one of the "better" players. Plus we won't have to travel outside of town! He is fine with it too. I'm glad they changed it because it will be better for everyone.

Jill- Have a great time with your family for your Christmas get together this weekend. We go to my folks the weekend after Christmas and my brothers and sister and all their families come. None of our kids are married yet and no babies but that will come. The oldest turns 23 on the 27th and then its 22,21,20,19,17,14,14,13,8 It is pretty wild when we are all together!

Brenda-Wanna bake some cookies for me? I bought some stuff to do it but haven't had time to do it yet. Maybe on Saturday. I'm glad we have a weekend before Christmas!

Ok, have blessed day! I better get busy!

Wendi, I canít believe that they keep everyone on the basketball team. Do they play other schools? I just found it odd they have 3 teams. That is way to many kids on a team for sure. Sorry about that my dear. We never have traditional meals. LOL we are the weird ones who just cook whatever. I havenít asked Missy what we are doing this year yet. I need to.

Brenda, sounds like you are having a great holiday season. Keeping yourself super busy that is for sure.

Laura, OUCH OUCH did I say OUCH? Goodness not any fun at all. Done with shopping and wrapping? Are you kidding me? I havenít gotten one gift wrapped. I need to get at it that is for sure. Just need to get a few things for the big kids and I am done.

Jill, I am right with you my dear. I despise dentists. And I know I like veggies more lol

Stephanie, Funny how when our grown children come home that the dynamic of our houses change so drastically. We love to see them come home and love to see them leave. LOL My daughter will be here late Christmas Eve and will stay till Friday and things always are out of sorts when she is here. Those storms sound awful.

They sent my mom to a nursing home yesterday. She isnít strong enough to go home. And thankfully they got smart this time around. But do you think her step husband bothered to call and tell us anything? NO I was livid. He told me Tues they were sending her that day so I went to visit at the nursing home, only to find out she was still in the hospital. And he wonders why I donít care for him UGH Oh well. He did call my sister and told her they moved her around 3 yesterday, so I will go see her later today or tomorrow. I am going to get them to cut her hair while she is there. Have a great day all.

Brenda it seems to take forever before you can finally get the implant in. Think I waited about 6 months

Laura - Bummer about the tooth! I'm waiting for my bone to grow around the screw in mine for my replacement. Good luck...I hope it goes well.

Wendi - Fun with the non-traditional meal! We've been doing that too to mix it up! Have fun!

Jill - It's so much fun to watch our kiddos perform! I used to love when Kevin was in plays. I'm hoping our grandbaby will do something fun to watch as well.

Stephanie - How much fun to have your kids stay with you. Sorry your area has tornado damage, but glad you're all okay!

Had a family Christmas lunch with my aunt and uncle today. Tomorrow I'm taking some toys to donate and then baking cookies. Got to get in some wrapping too! Christmas is coming up fast!

Hello friends! Checking in while Matthew, Laken, and Baizley are gone. They decided to do some Christmas shopping today. They're supposed to be leaving tomorrow. I've really enjoyed them being here, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit happy about getting back to my normal routine. LOL. Monday was a stressful day because we had some severe weather across the state. The schools let out early, and there were numerous tornadoes. I had to run some errands yesterday afternoon, and I saw SO much damage while I was out. It's going to take a long time to get it cleaned up. We didn't have any damage in our little community but many, many people around us weren't so lucky. There are still hundreds of people without power. Just a very sad situation all around.

I'll come back Friday and catch up on the posts. I hope you've all been having a good week!

Ouchy Ouchy Laura - I am not a big fan of the dentist. Might even like veggies more than the dentist.

I am done shopping and wrapping. Going to the store in a bit for the last few things I need in the grocery department and then I will be ready. We are doing our family get together this Saturday.

Last concert for the grandkids was last night. Owen was a rock star and I was so impressed. He is in 5th grade and they did a Christmas musical.

Have a super fun Wednesday.

Ouch, Laura!

Need to get to the wrapping here! Mostly done with the shopping. We are doing Christmas day dinner at our house for Mike's folks and sister and the 5 of us. We are going NON traditional. Pulled pork, beans & coleslaw! And a few other goodies as well!

Well best get to it! Have a great day!

Still coming down from all of the activities from last week. Then a couple of days ago I broke off a tooth and with it, my entire bridge. Get to spend this afternoon at the oral surgeon to have the rest of the tooth extracted. Hoping they can just pull it with a local. Otherwise, they will have to knock me out to cut out the roots. Fun fun.

Keep enjoying your holiday activities this week. Are you all done with your shopping and wrapping?

Hi everyone!

Not much new here. Running around again. Jack has basketball tryouts for school ball this week so ran and dropped him off for that, will pick him up and bring him home and feed him a taco then back to the school for his travel ball practice. They start school ball right after they get back from Christmas vacation. There are 50 boys out and only 3 teams, however they won't cut anyone so there will be 16-17 kids on a team. Such a joke cause they won't hardly get to play. Oh well, it is what it is. Other than that trying to get all the work scheduled this week and Monday so we can leave town without a bunch of jobs to do when we get home. Mike is hanging in there but I'm sure he will love having some time off to rest. Well gotta run! Have a great night!

Stephanie, Baizley is such a cutie! I love seeing her pictures. I totally understand why you arenít around at the moment. Enjoy those baby snuggles. They grow up too fast that is for sure.

Wendi, awe man I was hoping that the boys would have won. Stinking refs! Sounds like Mike is hanging in there. I am glad to see he is going to let his dad help him. Getting old is for the birds isnít it? I go to bed usually by 8.

Jill, I know you canít wait to have your granddaughter in your arms. I donít know how you do it with them being so far away.

Laura, Are you enjoying not doing homework? I am sure you are. I hope you are kicking your heels up and resting a lot! You deserve it!

Hi Brenda!!! How are you my dear?

Anyone hear from Dee? I miss hearing from her.

Thanks ladies. I am still so shocked that Leo did that! But man am I ever glad/blessed to have been there to see it. I feel so sad that Missyís family doesnít get to see all this with us though.

Kim love the pictures - Christmas photos are always so much fun.

Stephanie what a sweetie - no wonder you have been busy. My 5 month old granddaughter arrives here on Thursday and I am so excited to spend time with her again.

Wendi enjoy the rest from BB for awhile. I love watching my grandkids play but sure get tired of the running to everything.

Brenda glad you now have garage space.

We are having a pot luck at bowling today but thinking of skipping out and just showing up for bowling. Don't really care for the chaos and don't feel like making anything.

Have a great Monday to all of you.

Good Morning!

Boys lost their last game but the reffing was so bad. Jack got hit in the face and got a big chunk out of his lip (braces) so that wasn't fun. Then he got back in and got a little too aggressive apparently, he got called for an intentional foul. (it was a bit of joke since he is the littlest kid on the floor). Oh well, we are done with travel ball until March. He plays school ball January and February. Tryouts are this week. They all get to play, they just do tryouts to split out the teams.

We got home and cleaned up the garage a bit so Mike could get his van in there to clean it out. He needs his dad to help him with a job this week and there was no room in there for him to ride! Then we were in bed early cause we are old! lol! Tired from all the running!

Stephanie- she is so sweet! Enjoy!

Kim-love the pics! Those boys are so dang cute!

Brenda-yay on selling the couches! What did your Mike find out at the doc?

Hope everyone else is doing well! I need to get some wrapping done! Have a great day!

Sounds like everyone is have a great weekend full of fun and family. I love it.

We took the boys to Entertrainment Junction yesterday and as we are walking around looking at the trains. Leo keeps telling me he wants to see Santa he could have cared less about all the trains. So off to Santa we went. Waited in line about 10 minutes and the minute they opened the door Leo took off running right into Santa's arms! None of us could believe it. HE hates new people! But, It was awesome! Luke went over and here is the picture we got Then I got my wish, I got a family picture and an extra one too Santa was adamant Doug and I got one.

Kim - You didn't sound hateful...just frustrated and totally understand! Maybe you can talk to him and get someone to come in to help care for her at home so it doesn't wear him out. Good luck!

Jill - Congrats to the kiddos on their ugly sweaters! Sounds like you're having a great weekend!

We went to the Safari Park today with our son, DIL, mom, sister and her daughter and hubby. Family fun seeing animals, lights, and enjoying Christmas fun!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Busy day - my oldest son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter Kimber came this morning and we went to Eaton to watch my granddaughter Alli perform a dance routine at the Eaton Christmas Days. My oldest Grandson Clayton won the ugliest sweater contest and Alli won 3rd. Started to snow so I headed home and spent the rest of the day baking cookies and making chex party mix. Dustin, Cara and Kimber stopped by on their way home (they live about 45 minutes from here) to pick up some goodies.

Pretty much ready for Christmas and loving life.

Sounds like everyone had a busy weekend so far with family. Enjoy your Sunday.

We had the boys last night and we had so much fun. We found a new game in Leoís closet and they totally loved it. It was a race game to build something and the winner got to blow up the losers pieces. It was so much fun. Of course we modified the rules where they both got to blow up each others pieces or there would have been a fight. But Luke is great at building! Today we are going to Entertrainment Junction to see Ho HO Ho as Leo says. It will be a great day to make memories.

Brenda, thanks, I didnít mean to sound hateful about him. He does the best he can and I have not a doubt that he loves her. But, he is 80 and she is literally killing him. When she had her first Stroke, he was still working and doing great. Since, he quit his job to take care of her and its dragging him down something awful. And you are correct dealing with toddlers would be easier though I think. She told me yesterday that Ron canít take care of her anymore but she told him not to put her in a home. She wonít even entertain the idea of having someone in house to help her. Itís frustrating

Goodness Wendi, you have a long day of games today. Good luck to Jack! We are suppose to get snow tomorrow and Monday, I am not looking forward to it at all.

Wendi - Have fun at the game and a great weekend! Mike went to the doc this morning. I'm running to Costco to get another Prednisone prescription.
He'll take that while he's waiting for insurance approval for a back shot. Hope that fixes him up!!

I'm going shopping with my mom for a little bit and then it's back to get ready to play bunco tonight! Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey all!

YOU ROCK, LAURA!! Way to GO!!!! Yes, take time to relax a little!

Brenda- hope your Mike gets some answers and they can fix him up! Mine is hanging in there. He is still working full days but it will be nice to have almost 2 weeks off over the holidays.

Kim- i'm sorry it is so crazy with your mom.

I'm getting ready to go to basketball tournament this weekend. Jack is going with the coach and his kid tonight and Mike & I are driving over in the morning. Their 1st game is at 9am and it is about a 2 hour drive. So I need to get things ready for my SIL to stay with the dog plus do some laundry today. Always something! We had a little snow overnight so I got the shoveling done after I took Jack to school. It isn't too bad out there, about 15 above but the wind is blowing. Supposed to be a mini cold snap tonight and tomorrow and then warm up for next week. Well I best get my butt in gear! Have a great weekend!

Stephanie - Good for you for putting you first! Change is good for us! Sometimes it's a battle to do something different, but eventually everyone will get used to it. I'm changing myself in 2020! Continuing to lose weight and work on me, but adding in babysitting my grandson starting in June/July. I know it's going to be hard, but rewarding at the same time. I just need to stay focused on my healthy eating and not let it slide!

Jill - I love having my mom close, but sometimes she's overwhelming! LOL

Wendi - I'm glad your Mike is doing okay... it's hard for them to ask for help - I hope he does! My Mike hurt his back helping our son lay a rock patio. He's still hurting and finally has an appointment with pain management tomorrow. Busy with work, hard time trying to get the MRI scheduled and letting it go in the beginning hoping it would go away...not good! Men!!

Kim - So sorry your mom isn't getting the care she needs from her husband. It's probably overwhelming to him and he doesn't want to give her up. It's really hard when they get old... it's like dealing with argumentative toddlers! I hope it turns out well for you.

Laura - emoticon You did it!! Take the well deserved break and enjoy the rest of the season! emoticon

Tomorrow my hubby is finally going to a pain management place for help with his back. He's been walking with a cane, and by the end of the day he's limping and not standing up straight. I hope he gets fixed up!

I'm going to play Bunco tomorrow night, so fun, friends and food! I'm making an apple cheese ball...yum!

Good luck with weigh in!

Finally done! Thanks for all of the congrats. Going to take a few days to decompress and actually enjoy the holiday season this year. I'll be dipping my toe in but I will be back full-time in January. And boy do I need it!

Kim - I'm sending you many prayers of patience. It is never easy when parents get to the point of needing caregivers but are unwilling to help themselves. Big hugs.

I'm going to get the posts done and go to bed. Wish I had some more vacation time left this year because I am not looking forward to going to work tomorrow.

Be stronger than your excuses.

Laura, HAPPY GRADUATION DAY!!! I have thought about you all day today, I know you are super excited to be done with school.

Wendi, I swear Mike is just like Doug, he fell at work and busted the back of his head. They called the life squad, they looked him over and he went right back to work. He had a really nice bruise. Mike is a stubborn man isnít he? Tell him to take it easy. He kinda needs that arm.

Jill, you sound like your going to be crazy busy. But I know you are loving every minute of it. I know I do. I am most of the way ready for the holiday still a couple things to buy and I have to wrap UGH that is the worst! Oh the stinky little boys. I went to pick them up yesterday at daycare mommy broke my heart. Lukie got in trouble for wrestling and yelling at his teacher so mommy wouldnít allow him to go home and play with me and Leo. He got to give me a hug and a kiss and that was it. He cried and It broke my heart. But, he has to learn that you canít do whatever you want when you want. He is pushing his limits. IT doesnít help that mommy works there as well. We are taking them to a place this weekend called Entertrainment Junction. All about trains I canít wait to take Leo, he has never been. I know he will love it. Luke does.

Stephanie, Poor Baizley and that darn brace. At least she will not remember it when she is a little older! Yes, I have reached that point. Shortly after my children moved out. I decided it was time for me to take care of me. Thank you for that reminder, I had forgotten about me again for a long while. I need to get back at that. Good for you my dear! Leo is as he said ďall better now, right?Ē Thank goodness. We had a lot of fun playing yesterday.

My mother ugh I am truly frustrated with her at the moment and her step-husband. She is still in the hospital. They were going to do a colonoscopy and a endoscopy on her today to see where she is bleeding from. Her hemoglobin is dangerously low for some reason. I am just so frustrated. She needs assisted living, but because she is married there is nothing we can do. He/she has to make that choice. And they wonít . She has turned into a agoraphobic the only time she leaves is in an ambulance. Ronís first wife was an agoraphobic and she always felt sorry for him for having to deal with that and now she is doing it. Ladies, my mother was never home ever she was always on the run with the Red Hat Society. She was woman of the year in the city she lived in. And now her hair is literally matted to the back of her head so bad that she has cradle cap. Her finger and toe nails are 4 inches long. She doesnít get off the couch but 2 times a day once to go to the bathroom and once to go to bed. She wears a diaper so she doesnít have to. Okay sorry about that can you tell I am frustrated? There is so much I could say, I can go on for days and days.

Hey All!

Just been busy! Been doing extra things like shoveling since Mike only has 1 arm! Ugh! At least it is above 0 again! He is doing pretty well with it. Work seems to be going ok. He is using the left hand some but trying not to move the arm too much. Next week he may need a helper as he has to change hinges on an oven door. There is no way he will be able to lift it to put it on. Hopefully he will allow his Dad to go with. He takes a pain pill at night and has been sleeping so that is good. He is just taking Ibuprofen during the day. He hasn't been too crabby with me yet so that's good. I might be crabby with him soon as I'm tired already from picking up the slack. I guess this will make both of us appreciate the other more!

Jill- Enjoy your early Christmas with all your kids!

Stephanie- Yes! I know just how you feel about making changes! 2020 is going to be a good one for me. I plan on taking care of me! I have a new planner and I am going to work on that to get my goals and plans written down for next year. I'm feeling like I can make some BIG changes and feel good about it. Hope all goes well with your extras staying with you.

Brenda-YOU are getting things done! My Christmas cards might be New Years cards! I didn't even get any sent last year.

Kim-How's your Mom?

Laura-CONGRATULATIONS ON GRADUATION!!! emoticon

Stephanie good for you making changes that will benefit you. It is always so hard to put ourselves first when we are by nature people pleasing women.

I totally understand what you mean about the chaos - I love when my family is here but I also love my alone time and when someone is staying at your house it is so hard to find that time.

Wendi how is Mike doing?

Laura congratulations on the big Graduation Day - you have worked so hard and made us all so proud of you.

Kim what have the little boys been up to? I love hearing about their antics.

Tracy how are you feeling?

Brenda I so wish my mom lived closer so I could do more with her. I miss that so much.

Rhapsody are you out there? Hope you are doing great.

Good morning, friends! I hope you've all had a good week. Shawn and Jacob are leaving for Huntsville early Saturday morning to move Matthew home. Laken says theyíre staying with us next week. Iím looking forward to that and kind of dreading it at the same time. LOL. I canít wait to spend time with Baizley, but itís chaotic with a lot of people here, and Baizley doesnít like her leg brace AT ALL, so Iím sure she wonít be as happy as she usually is.

On a personal note...We had our monthly business meeting at church last night, and I resigned from my positions as secretary and youth teacher, effective December 31st. I've been the church secretary four years and a Sunday school teacher (all ages) for the 23 years I've been a member at this church. The reason is very long and drawn out, but Iíll be finding another church, starting in January. My dad, who also attends this church, is very upset with me right now, but I told him I canít keep going where I donít feel comfortable just because he's a member there too. I have to do whatís best for me and my family. This isn't the only change I'm making in the new year. Have you ever just reached the point where you're tired of putting everyone else above yourself? Well, that's the way I feel right now. Our kids are grown, and I'm ready to make some changes - starting with finding a different church. Are there any big changes you're hoping to make in 2020?

Laura - I made my first ever gingerbread house last year, and it was so much fun. I mentioned to Laken that I'd never made one, and she just showed up one weekend with all the supplies. It was so sweet. Happy graduation day! I hope you have a blast celebrating this weekend! That's wonderful your nephew will be home for Christmas!

Brenda - I hadn't thought about Christmas cards. Could we all private message each other our mailing addresses? I'd love to send you all a Christmas card.

Kim - I'm glad Leo is feeling better! How is your mom doing? I hope she's okay.

Wendi - Oh no! I'm so sorry about Mike's broken elbow! That's awful! And men can be SO stubborn! UGH! I hope he doesn't overdo it. Prayers for all of you!

Tracy - I'm glad you had a good visit with your mom. How did the purging go? I always feel so much better after I do some purging in my house. I plan on doing that after Christmas.

Jill - My goodness. You've had a busy week with the kiddos. I'm trying not to stress too much over the holiday, but it's hard not to sometimes. My mom remarried last summer, so now we have step-family members added to the chaos too. It's crazy.

Have a good weekend!

Stephanie

I shopped all day today with my mom, but she got the last of her Christmas gifts and she was excited! I got a few things too for hubby and kids, plus some toys to donate to Toys for Tots. Tomorrow it's sending checi donations and writing Christmas cards. Getting my list done!

Wendi, Tracy and Kim - Hope your family members get well soon! Sending hugs and prayers!

Jill - How wonderful that your grandkids and families will be with you for Christmas! I love that the kiddos are involved in music...how fun to see them perform.

We finished up BB this past Saturday with 1 loss and 1 win. Tuesday night was Clayton's band concert. (He is 12) Thursday night Kimber (she's 8) has her Christmas concert in Weldona which is about 45 minutes from here. I am going to go out there and then spend the night as her mom has an early morning appointment. They only go to school Monday - Thursday so this way she can sleep in a little bit and then I will bring her home with me. Owen (he's 10) has his music program next week. Alli (9) isn't having a Christmas program but doing theirs in the Spring. Shopping is done but need to wrap.

Weather has been ok - in the 40s but expecting snow this weekend.

Hoping all of you are ready for this Holiday season and not stressing too much. We have 2 parties this weekend and then next weekend Grant, Sarah and Savannah will be here from Texas so will have all the kids and grandkids home to celebrate an early Christmas. Think Christmas day we will just sit back and relax.

emoticon Just a little. Supposed to be up into the 20s above 0 for the weekend.

Well Mike worked yesterday afternoon and survived but now we will see what a whole day does to him. If he can just get through the rest of this week and next then we are taking off for Christmas so he will have over a week to rest!

We have basketball out of town this weekend. I need to get some wrapping done and finish my shopping. Not much left but just the stocking stuffers and such.

Jack has his band/orchestra holiday concert tomorrow night and I have to serve for church tonight. He has to pack food boxes for confirmation on the other end of town. Thank goodness for Grandma. She can get him there while I'm at the church. Run run run!

Have a great day everyone!
