@LIFEBEAUTIFUL- the challenge is for all types of exercise...cardio, strength, stretching, etc. The point is to think of ways to incorporate more exercise into your day and be active. Everything from an extra 5 minutes walking because you parked further away from the mall to 60 minutes of an ultra intense bootcamp count...fit in exercise in any and every way you can to reach 2010 minutes!

GET READY EVERYONE...HERE WE GO!
Dance in the kitchen while your waiting for the water to boil, chase your kids around the house, move those boxes from the attic to your car to donate, walk over to a freinds house, march in place at the commercials of your favorite show, WHATEVER...just get moving!

WE CAN DO THIS! emoticon

I'm in - thanks for posting a great challenge! With a wedding 7 months away, I can't afford to gain more weight during December!

And I'm sorry to be crashing the 10-24 pound to lose team. I was on this team before when that was all the weight I had to lose, now....I'm a little over that. :( But, I just can't switch teams because I loved this one so much, so please pardon me and I promise to be within that 24 lb mark soon!

Ooh! I like this challenge. Especially since it's after my major finals and I'll be doing nothing but exercising (and writing applications and teaching myself computer programming and starting my first novel and all of my other December goals). The gym will be open most days and I've acquired FIVE gym partners. 2010? Bring it.

I'm in. I think I can do this - I'm at 1150 minutes for November after 20 days, so I think I can do it. I'll have to start tracking all of those little things I don't track now, though. I have been keeping with a sort of rule that if it's less than 10 minutes at a time, I don't track it. If I switch that up, I can hit 2010.

Hey, this is a great idea! I'm in! December and Christmas time in particular will definitely be a tough time for me trying to lose weight. I'm sure putting extra effort into exercising will help. Also, the weather might be not so good here in December, so hopefully this goal will keep me walking to work and back despite of it. emoticon

I think I might set the goal a bit higher. I'll see how many exercise minutes I accumulate in November and try to hit the same number in December (or even a bit more).

MAYBELL06 - Yes you will just log it here daily or whenever you can get to it and let us all know how you are doing. Most peopel find it motivating to stop in everyday or two and post but you can do whatever works for you.

It would probably good if we give a shout of out side the box ways we are fitting minutes in to help each other reach the goal.

Can you accumulate 2,010 minutes of exercise in the month of December? It may not be as difficult as you think.

During the month of Decemember you are challenged to keep a focus on exercise by attempting to complete 2010 minutes of exercise between December 31st. You may say "OH My! That is over 60 minutes per day with no rest days. I could never do that!" I argue that you can!

The way to accomplish the challenge? Think outside the box and think of ways to incorporate exercise into your day by doing things that you don't normally do. Maybe do some random jumping jacks at commercial breaks, take a 10 minute walk in the morning, do some heavy cleaning or rearranging furniture...every minute counts. Think outside the box and I bet if you focus on the goal you can find a way to do it!

For example:
Monday
10 minute walk before getting ready for work
45 minute Treadmill walk
3 minutes of marching in place during commerical breaks of you favorite show (15 minutes total)
5 minutes park in the far lot for work
10 minutes of Ab work before bed
= 85 minutes!!!

Tuesday:
5 minutes park in the far lot for work
30 minute leisurely walk at lunch
30 minutes playing active games with the kids in the evening
20 minutes bringing up all the Xmas decor form the basement
= 85 minutes!!!

Wedensday:
Rest

ETC.
