I agree with Kelli, taking even if just a few minutes from any continuous activity to do something for your body makes a remarkable difference upon that activity once you return to it. Do it!
I did yesterday, I was slumped over the laptop doing some work. Suddenly I stopped, did about a half hour of different exercises, and came back with a totally different outlook. I actually finished my work faster that I had anticipated, even given the half hour break I took! Do it!

I'll be doing the lunges or the extended leg raises... I'll see what hits me after my strength routine.

I did not get the QFC done for Sunday. I traveled all day to get home from California. I leave early tomorrow morning for Texas. I plan to do the QFC at the rest stops. I may entertain a few people! emoticon

No Time to Exercise? Everyone has a few minutes they can QuickFire through the day. Studies prove several short bouts of exercise throughout the day are equally as beneficial for your health and calorie burning as one longer continuous session. If you spend your day at a desk, take a few minutes every 2 hours to get up, get moving and get closer to a body you can be proud of. You will return to your desk refreshed, with more mental clarity and a renewed sense to continue working knowing you are closer to reaching your fitness goals. Giving your metabolism a QuickFire boost several times through the day, adds up to more fat burning.

Stand with legs wide, arms straight out to the sides and parallel to the floor.

Bend the right knee into a side lunge and bring the left arm down towards the foot.

Come back up, rotating the arms, and lunge to the left, bringing the right arm down towards the foot.

Continue lunging side to side (your arms will move like a windmill). The faster you go and the lower you lunge, the harder it is.

*EXHALE: Keeping left foot planted and upper body still, extend the right leg (bending from the knee) until it is parallel with the floor. Hold here for 2 counts and then (optional) pulse up and down for 3 counts (not shown).

*INHALE: Bend knee to lower right leg back to floor to complete one rep. Complete all reps on one side and switch.

1. Sit with your back straight and feet positioned firmly on the floor, shoulder-width apart.

2. Twist your upper body to your left side, as if you were attempting to look over your shoulder. It is crucial to keep your head straight when performing the twist. When you have twisted as far as possible, hold the position and squeeze your oblique muscles for a count of three.

3. Return to the starting position in a smooth and controlled manner, not jerking your torso to the other side.

4. Repeat on the other side.

CHALLENGE Yourself to Taking the Stairs Today at EVERY opportunity! No lifts! Did anyone see WALL-E? (human characters, who are all comically too rotund to even walk and travel about their spaceship in hovering seats, drinking all their meals and living their lives through a virtual screen that feeds them information). You burn 4 calories for every 10 steps you climb.

As with anything new, introduce your body to the QuickFires gradually. These will work your body in a very different way than you are used to, so take it easy!

If you aren't breathing while QuickFiring, then you're doing them wrong.

Create your own QuickFire Circuit by choosing different QuickFire Challenges and doing each one for a minute as hard as you can for a high intensity workout.
