When I feel hungry I first drink 2 cups of water and then see if I'm still hungry. This usually takes about 20 minutes. If I find that I am still hungry, then I eat from my nutrition plan putting the fork down after each bite. It's always good to remember that your stomach doesn't realize it's full until 20 minutes have passed. Do that and you will find your full spot. This sure beats woofing your food down when you feel that first hunger pang.

My practice is mindfull - stopping and checking in with myself before I eat, shop or go out to eat. Just paying attention to the food I am eating, savoring what I do eat, slowing way down. Last week i was on the road with a colleague for 3 days last week. She was always finished way before I was and for a minute I thought I was eating too slow. BUT it was actually evidence that I am eating the way that is the healthiest and my practice in some ways is ingrained!!

Each moment can be a new beginning!

the library has a book called intuitive eating, i put a hold on it and it will finally be in tomorrow. o thought with dentures i would eat more mindfully but some old habits are coming back. mostly things like eating when not hungry and serving portions that are too large.
