I've done 2 organized rides this year. 1. America's Most Beautiful Ride - 72 miles around Lake Tahoe and 2. Mile High Century 108 miles in Plumas County, CA around Lake Almanor and Indian Valley. I am so lucky to live in such a wonderful cycling area. I am signed up for the Edible Pedal south of Reno NV and then doing the fall version of the Mile High Century in September.

Last Saturday I rode my first organized ride....25 miles. The Christian Farmers organized the event and give to a local charity. Next summer I hope to ride more miles, maybe even the longest ride which is 62 miles.

My next ride will also be 25 miles on 7/28 and then on 8/4 I will ride my longest ride which is 45 miles. These two rides are charity events for St. Jude Hospital.

All 3 rides take place in Central Illinois. We have both flat and hill country roads to ride.

I just started riding in May and mostly consisted of commuting to and from work. I really enjoy the charity rides.

I'm doing the Horsey Hundred in Kentucky this weekend. It's a two-day ride. It's my first organized ride in about 15 years.

I used to do a LOT of riding...my longest ride was a 6 day ride for Minneapolis to Chicago as part of an AIDS fundraiser. There were over 1000 people on that ride, camping every night. I just loved it.

I'm getting my "new" husband (of 6 years) into riding. I'm hoping he will really enjoy this weekend. I would LOVE to bike across America using the TransAm route. If I do it, it will be two summers from now after hubby retires.

I'm planning on riding the St. Patrick's Day ride in Wauconda, IL this Sunday. They have routes that are 16, 20, or 36 miles. I'm planning to do the 36.

Already signed up for the Air Force Cycling Classic in Arlington, VA. Its a timed ride - you see how many 12.5K loops you can do in 3.5 hours. I did six loops last year - was one of the most exhausting, but gratifying accomplishments ever! I did the six loops in 3:39 - this year I want to do six loops under the 3:30 limit. Wonder ride to do!!

WOW! you gals are really going places. i have yet to put my foot to the pedal this year. so far. i came close today, however, duty calls and i stuck with my plan instead of the fun. i did get in 1.5 hours of swimming today though, so i am doing something even if it isnt what i want. i am just learning to swim, starting out with water aerobics and this spring, actual swimming lessons. my goal for the year is to do a tri for my 52nd birthday. dont know which one yet. i am still working that.

Don't complain about the results you didn't get for the fitness you didn't do!

I am going to ride in the New England Parkinson's Ride (http://www.neparkinsonsride.com/) in Old Orchard Beach, Maine in September with my sister and her family. I am still pretty new to cycling so not sure how far I will ride. They plan to ride 50 miles. My farthest ride so far is 30 miles. My recumbent tadpole tricycle has about 170 miles on it. I found a group that is riding the Katy Trail next fall. They plan to ride 55 miles a day, and I am going to train with them.

That's quite a challenge, KSZSPIN. And such worthy causes! I'll be rooting for you! I need to look into my area for similar rides. So far, there's the Tour de Goshen during summer. Happy trails!

Just thought I'd add a new thread for upcoming rides this year.

The first ride I've registered for is Girls with Gears (to benefit Women's heart disease) in April, it's in Limerick PA. Various mileage routes from 25, 40, 62.5. Rolling terrain with some moderate hills.

Also registered for MS century ride in Gettysburg PA in mid July. I'm actually going to ride 50 miles down there on a Friday with a friend, spend the night, we'll do the century Saturday, stay another night, then ride back home another 50 (or more if we feel good). :)

So far, that's it. But I'll find some more!
