So I did it last night! I made my May goal of 250 with 3 days to spare! Having the goal helped me focus on getting those miles in.

I mentioned to the group I was riding with that I wanted to get 21 miles in to make my goal, so instead of doing the usual 15 mile loop that I would've ridden with them, they stretched it out so that I could make my goal. (It actually ended up being just under 22 miles.) So thanks for the support and encouragement of the group.

My total for the month (so far) ended up at 251. I still might ride tomorrow night if it doesn't rain.

Last week I took advantage of the good weather on Thursday and we did a small group (4) ride of about 21.5 miles. Pretty hilly ride too as it w as nearly 800 feet of climbing.

Then Saturday, I went out and did a solo ride of about 26 miles. Feeling pretty good riding that day!

Memorial Day (yesterday) I rode with a friend of mine and we got close to 20 miles in even with a spoke problem on my back wheel (that is currently getting fixed).

So as it stands right now I am at 229 miles for the month. I need to get at least 21 in the next four days, which should be doable, although our weather is still not very cooperative, only in the 50's today.

Chilly and windy, but not raining last night. So in spite of my group ride getting canceled, I still went out and rode 16 miles myself.

That gives me a total of 161 miles. Only 10 more days to get 89 miles in. Hope the forecast improves over what it is now. Way too much rain around here. We are practically waterlogged.

Two more rides in! A 16+ miler on Friday and a rain-shortened bike club ride on Sat of just over 10 miles.

So that makes it up to 145 miles. Just over a 100 to go so hope the weather cooperates!

You are doing great! Halfway through May and you are over 100 miles, so 200 should be very doable for you. You will probably far exceed your fundraising goal in June!

Keep us posted on how you are doing!

I am doing a Cancer fundraising event on June with a goal of 150 miles. I was practicing in May and logged just over 100 miles so far, so I am making my May goal 200 miles and maybe I'll up my fundraising goal to that as well!

I got 20+ miles in both Saturday and Sunday in spite of the chilly, 50ish conditions. Saturday was at the bike club and Sunday was a solo ride.

So now my Strava says that I've got 118 miles in so far this month. Puts me pretty much on track as long as I get some good riding weather the rest of the month. No riding probably today or tomorrow (although the weather is good), because I have meetings both nights:(

The first group ride of the year from the brewpub last night, so got in another 16 miles!

Now I am up to 77 for the month and counting.

Well I have gotten off to a good start on my challenge this weekend, helped along by great weather.

Saturday I rode with the bike club and did 21 miles. Today I did a solo ride of 25 miles.

So that gives me 46 miles and counting!

I think it is time that we do a monthly riding challenge! Having a challenge goal gets me motivated when I might not get out there some days.

I am going to do a mileage challenge personally. But it can be whatever motivates you and is appropriate for where you're at. So it could also be minutes ridden or number of rides. Then just check in here periodically and let us know how you're doing so we can cheer you on!

I am going to set a goal of 250 miles for May which should be doable, because the weather has got to be better than it was in April, and even at that I had 178 miles. At the beginning of April I was still riding inside on the trainer, but I am hoping for all outdoor rides.

I am eager to hear what your challenge goals for May are! Let's ride! emoticon
