Between the last post and this, I have done another 18 mile bike ride..but the regular, consistent exercise has fallen by the wayside. I guess I'm gonna have to give it up for right now. NOT giving up exercising, but this method of trying to gain consistency. I wish the best for you guys and you might see me on another thread...trying a new plan. I want you all to know that I'm NOT giving up.....just giving up this particular method. Jo

DAY 6...ooops. Got busy and actually FORGOT...really!

DAY 7....90 minutes at the gym!! I did interval on the treadmill for 20 and then it took the rest of the time to get through a moderate strength training for lower and upper body. When I t get the routine down and the machines down, it will go a lot faster, so this LOOKS like more exercise than I actually got. It should probably distill down into about an hour total. But I still feel good about getting it done. I even stretched a little afterward! Jo

Starting AGAIN! 3rd time lucky I hope.

I missed two days last week, and want to get 28 days straight. But on the whole I'm not too disappointed - I did SOME exercise on 27/31 days in October: 87%.

DAY 4 (yesterday) we had a square dance at our church last evening....not too pretty but it was still good exercise.

DAY 5 (today) Went on a 1.5 hour bike ride. WHOA! I did not expect to ride that long but a good friend caught up with the group right when we were almost home and wanted me to ride with her to another location and I said "OK". I'm sore...and will REALLY feel it tomorrow, I'm afraid...haven't ridden since mid summer. But I'm proud I did as well as I did. Jo

OK...completed Day 3! I actually walked around the whole neighborhood TWICE! The dog appreciated the long walk and I didn't mind it. But I'm gonna have to start doing some strength training as well. Oh...I did do 25 sit ups.....so it's a start!

Go to the main team page. Scroll right down to the bottom, and you will see, under the "Newst Members" list, a button saying "Leave this team. Click on it.

NB before you leave the team, make sure you can FIND it again! It took me a while - eventually I went to the SparkPage of a friend I had met on the team and used her link! Or you can probably get there from "My recent posts".

The proper name of the team is "Official 10-Minute Daily Exercise Streak Challenge".

Good luck and happy re-start!

Good for you - you can do it.

I have begun to see some success by getting in my first little block of exercises as early as possible after getting up. At home, on my own. Then if other people de-rail me during the day, I've still done the bare minimum.

So today I saw DH off to work, then did my back exercises. It's raining and I don't much feel like walking the dog, and I have a mountain of paperwork to get through, and this, and that... but I HAVE done 20 minutes today.

Good luck.

THANK YOU ALL for your encouragement...but even with all of that, I still did not do it. I had planned to go to the gym with my dh, but he pulled his back. That did not mean I could not do something at home but my mind needs VERY LITTLE distraction from my intentions lately and they go up in smoke. I was asked at the last minute to help out with a children's program at our church so I ran off to do that and completely forgot about getting that little 10 min. of exercise in. SO....I am starting AGAIN, today with day 1. I am scheduled for the gym to day (dh is better) so there should be no problem. Pray that I don't get distracted again. Eventually, this will be built into my schedule...well, I guess that is the goal for all of us, right? sigh. At least I haven't given up for my failures. Jo

When I have a bad day I always remind myself that tomorrow is a new day. Just keep going and don't stop. There's nothing wrong with walking 2.5 miles in an hour. Like you said...at least you did it. Here's a pat on the back for you. emoticon

I've just restarted here too. Thought I had done so at the start of this week, but I had only unticked my "goals achieved" box and still got an email from later tin the programme. So I have now left and rejoined the team for a proper clean start. The good thing is that I'm going into Week 1 with a streak of 6 days already.

I'm tracking my progress on the topic I set up when I first joined this challenge, as I have a buddy there. It's called "Wish me luck!" and is in the "Introduce yourself to team" forum.

I am starting again, every year about this time I start again and never seem to make serious changes, THIS YEAR WILL BE DIFFERENT,
This time I am going to make it manageable and accountable... so 10 minutes every day... and I am going to message on here and let you all know what I have done.

Day 1 - 13 minute walk at lunchtime emoticon way to go, looking forward to tomorrow...

"We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life; when all we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about" - Charles Kingsley (He is sooo right)

Live by empowering beliefs: be the person I want to be.

While most are dreaming of success, winners wake-up and work hard to achieve it.
