I am finding I have more energy when breaking my exercise into smaller bits throughout the day rather than concentrating on 30 or 60 min a day here and there. Much more sustained energy as well

So far, so good! Finding it both easier and more affirming than I expected to get activity in little bits at a time. :)

Reflecting on the end of week 2. I've been doing better than expected with getting my cardio and arm work outs in. Adding chest exercises and need to focus harder at moving once an hour during computer time.

I'm on the computer a lot so for my second week of the challenge, I'm making it a point to get up once an hour during computer or tv time for 250 steps. At first it sounded like a lot of steps but I always end up doing more. I also keep dumbbells next to my computer chair and do 2-3 sets of 12-15 reps of bicep curls and tricep kick backs whenever I'm watching a short video on YT or streaming a movie. I'm still making sure to get my cardio within 2 hrs of waking up. That has made a world of difference to my self esteem.

Well, I'm a week behind because I was super sick the week between Christmas and New Years. That stomach bug had me on my back!

I'm doing strength training M-F with a trainer, and power walking in the evenings and on the weekends.

I'm sneaking exercise in at work by walking down the stairs to the first floor and taking the stairs back up to the 3rd floor when I'm done, parking my car at the back of the lot and walking the long way around to the doors. I'm hitting my 10k steps pretty easily now! Time to up my game I think!

First day of week 2 for me. From the 30 Days to Active Lifestyle, I noted the activities I already do and picked up a couple I will add. Hah...never thought about counting house chores as activity..on it now!

Phooey. I'm supposed to share the creative ways I used to get some exercise in. I came up with a plan to strength train beginning from neck down, then doing two 5-min routines involving each of the three sections. I searched the net for different routines that would fit my state of mind; then I emailed the links to myself with exercise type in the subject line. Took longer to write this than to do. 8-) Have not strategized for Week 3, yet.

La la la la life goes on. I've completed week two with less enthusiasm; a son needs open-heart; the anchor needs a 2nd biopsy; pottery club is dismantling. I gained a pound (muscle weighs more than fat); I'm enthusiastic/optimistic about Week Three. 8-)

I didn't exercise today as I have an ankle and leg that needed a rest. I can do what what I was going to do for today's walking split up over the next 5 days. Which is 240 extra steps a day on top of what I am going to do. Doesn't seem like a lot, but will add up.

I do my twice weekly 10 minute cardio blast (walk fast/march/ dance to music) while I watch the news. I also go to some of my favorite websites while I walk 3MPH for 20 minutes on the treadmill twice per week.

Today I did standing crunches in my classroom (alone!) after school before going home, and standing toe touches while my morning tea was brewing.

To add more exercise to my days this week:
I have walked through the house while talking on the phone instead of talking while curled up on the couch;
I have tried to help my family by seeing if they want something and going to get it for them (think gopher- i.e. go for this, go for that);
We are building a very small home so I have been using a hammer and I have carried boards, nails, and tools.
I have limited my online time, and just plain walked around more!

Reflecting on my 2nd week of the challenge, I see my shopping task as a way to increase my fitness (walk faster and no short cut in the stores) and while walking the dog, I make her discover new areas since I walk further.

Hi, I found that I can also work at work at least 10-15 minutes & I can either get up earlier OR commit to putting in some time after work & still be OK....
I like walking the dogs, the river trail, mall walking is OK, but I prefer to be outdoors, big box stores used to irritate me, BUT because they're so big, I can get more steps in, ya know???!!!

Here's to Week 3...took me TWO weeks to finish week 2..slow learner!

Holiday is curving my new routine, but my walks are still getting covered, that where most calories are lost, just my strength training is getting off schedule.

My Vision Statement:
To get off of my medications; Cholesterol statin, Hypothyroid levothyroxine, after effects from statin is hitting my quads and sharp pain in knees, to finish a marathon and too get at my healthy weight at 146lbs, so I can look better and do more things; to be able to work more active jobs, run a marathon, wear better clothes- more of a variety and feel better. To have more energy and get rid of my sleep apnea. I am feeling more energetic and sleeping better.

Week 2 actually took more than a week to complete. I loved the aticles and am working to incorporate many of the ideas into my schedule. I really like the idea of the 10 minute challenge because I really need the help to get more consistent not only with doing the exercise but in tracking everything.

I'm really not sure when my week started, but I have been exercising the past 10 days for at least 10 mins. Other than cleaning house or going to the store I really didn't exercise much.

I'm still not tending to go over the 10 mins but I'm working on that too. I like the challenges because they make me feel as if I'm committed to wanting to do better. I WILL do better!

Thank You Lord for being on this journey with me and all my many blessings.
Thank You Lord for all the many wonderful SP friends I've met and those I have yet to meet.

I'm in the middle of week 2, too! So far, I'm consistent with a 10 min cardio addition to my regular workout...

I have 2 other 10min activities that I'd like to add to my daily routine, but I fear I will add too much and stop exercising altogether.... Anyway They're a 10min meditation streak and a 10min stretching streak... on the next few days i'll think about these new possible streaks. If anyone has any input/suggestion/idea on how to manage all these 10min, please let me know!

I am in the middle of week two. This challenge is helping to keep me focused, with eyes on the goal! Even though I had a houseful of company and several big meals to prepare over the Easter weekend, I still managed a short walk with the dog and 10 minutes hooping each day. Now am back in the groove with my usual routine: yoga this morning and Barre class tonight! I love taking part in a challenge to keep me going!

I walked at least a half hour every week day this past week. It was a brisk walk. I walked while shopping yesterday with my wife. I am planning on starting with a stationary bike and elliptical today for five minutes upping it gradually until I am doing 15 minutes 5 days a week.

Some of these things I'm already doing which makes me feel awesome :)
-I park in the far parking lot at work because it's further and free. This is what helps me get my 10min every day because it takes me nearly 10min to walk to my desk (and the same to go back to my car).
-I also usually wander around stores to get more walking in and take longer routes in malls (time allowing), my work shares a parking lot with a mall so I go there fairly regularly (good and bad thing there)
-I don't own a dishwasher so I need to do all my dishes myself, and I love to cook so I usually have a lot of dishes, lol.
-fast/energetic music is how I workout at the gym too! I love spotify and it has so many awesome playlists!
-my fitbit is on every day, I don't know what I'd do without it!

Things I want to try to do:
-morning fitness...even 5-10min of exercises in the morning to get my body moving. I'm not a morning person so this will be very hard for me....but I'll try

My creative way of getting more movement in is if there is someone one walking on the track that is moving faster than me, to meet their pace. That is helping. I am moving a little faster now. Its actually carrying over to the weights that I use.

MORAVIANSTAR I park father away too so that I have to walk farther to get where I am going. It makes me have to take those extra steps. Keep up the good work on your walking. It sounds like you have a handle on it. You are doing an excellent job.

Pretty good about taking steps and parking farther away, don't have a dishwasher, so washing dishes is a must! Walk 5 or 6 days a week :30, 1.5 miles and this week I'm also raking leaves!

Wrapping up Week 2....
I discovered the benefits to walking to & back from the fitness center, plus walking to my 2 weekly Bible studies with a friend. These changes have really strengthened my body!

Starting Week 2 today! I have found that the commercials go quicker if I walk through them! Still working on the food logging, overall though, I am motivated and looking forward to finding other ways to get moving! Going to try some of the videos for cardio as well. Good luck everyone!

Edit for the end of the week:
Kinda tough as we were away last weekend, and we're going away again this weekend.
Plans for week three? The 7-day bootcamp video extravaganza!!!!

looking forward to week 2, and to upping my daily exercise just a little bit. Finding time to do things is easier, and finding the will to do something a little difficult is getting easier too.

Have a great week, everyone.

I started using an app to measure my steps, I have reached 10,000 last week and this week too!!! I walk everyday 6 kilometers, but that doesn´t make it! Now I carry my phone in my pocket and I can reach 10,000 with my house cleaning or while doing errands. I parked my car at the very end of all parking lots, and I also started using the stairs wherever I go!

Oops. I tracked all my activity time for week two under the week one forum. But I'm moving on to week three now so will go there to track.

I am still here and working on week two. Am hand washing dishes, wearing a fitbit to track my step goal, walking every morning and evening and parking further away from my destination whenever I go somewhere. Adding exercise when and where ever I can. Am feeling stronger and getting in better shape and enjoying it.

So happy to report that it is Week 2 and I am still at it.....not that I didn't really, really, really want to blow off my daily exercise these last few days. You know what it is like; the initial motivation and excitement has died down and your couch and TV start looking very appealing. One day I left it too late in the day and boy, did I learn from that. I did it anyways (hooray!) and felt like a million bucks after a 15 minute workout video. The days when you just don't feel like it are probably the days when you need it the most.

I added a new policy of not getting to drove home until i went and did my ten mins. of laps at my local "track" usually after the third song i didn't want to stop anyway so i kept going until i was tired. and seeing as my track is the all night grocery store people don't expect you to lap them and help encourage me to keep going. also added stretches into my workday and car rides.

but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.

I started this challenge weeks ago and then was diagnosed with a fracture of my right foot. I've had surgery, 4 weeks of being non-weight bearing, and several more of getting around with a boot. I've done some of Coach Nicole's chair exercises but not consistently. I can happily report that I have finally had a full week of 10 minutes (or more) of regular exercise - it's been mostly the Stationary Bike but I have added in some light yoga and stretching too. I am moving on to Week 3 today and anticipate I will be boot-free by the end of this week!
