Actually, rebounding is very low-impact and gentle on the joints (your feet need never leave the surface to benefit)... it's one of the reasons I chose it... I have bad knees... which are getting MUCH stronger, quickly.

Thanks for the encouragement! SparkPeople IS great!

Dr. Jason Fung: "Holy consensus, Batman. With so many 'experts' from Michelle Obama to the USDA to virtually all of the medical professionals (including doctors and dieticians) agreeing that 'Eat Less, Move More' is the way to go, you might think that it is 100% unquestionably true. But here's a queer thought... if we all agree that we know the cure for obesity, and we've spent billions on educations and programs - why are we getting fatter? In other words, why does this 'cure' suck so bad?

I can see where using a mini-trampoline would really 'bounce' off the pounds! I am not sure that's a good idea for me I have had knee surgery and have to watch out for anything too high impact; although I am doing way more than I did and getting stronger all the time!
I am so excited to have found Spark People. I have logged in every day since I joined (my biggest streak) and actually joined a gym again; I stopped when I had the torn meniscus and surgery. I am starting slow, but not going to give up.
You are good inspiration, I like your energy and determination. And I like the way we can use this site to be bolstered up by other like-minded people, and to give structure to our journey.

Never give up!

LOL! Thanks Bonnie! It will be nice to get to know you better.

Rebounding is using a mini-trampoline for exercise. It has a A LOT of health benefits, as well as being terrific exercise... I can't believe the changes I'm seeing, and very quickly.

You can do your own research, or you can subscribe to my blog. I'm preparing an entry all about my experience with the rebounder and the health/fitness gains I've acquired over the course of this month (hopefully posting Wednesday).

I've found my exercise for LIFE and LIFESTYLE!

How's your streak going?

Ramona you are entirely inspiring and a whole motivational site in YOURSELF! Way to go! I just have one BIG question...what is 'rebounding?' It sounds interesting but I've never heard of it. I am going to subscribe to your posts and stalk you a bit here because I want some of whatever it is you're doing right now!

Never give up!

Hi, everybody!

I actually started the 'Official 10-Minute Daily Exercise Streak Challenge' on Wednesday, July 23, before I even knew there was team (and I want my trophy), LOL! So, now I am catching up!

My Goals, briefly: In addition to a basic 10 minutes of INTENTIONAL EXERCISE daily (which has three components - cardio, strength, family), I'm also streaking 30 minutes of DECLUTTERING daily, and waking up at 6:00 AM DAILY.

From the very first, I deliberately worked fun and variety into my plan for daily exercise. My cardio is rebounding, which is SO much fun, and I love doing it. It's never boring, and I am able to always find a new routine to do.

Additionally, at least one day a week, my exercise includes my husband and daughter. We've taken up geocaching as a family hobby, and our hikes to do this are a blast! I copy whatever my 10-year-old daughter does - climb, skip, sprint - and many of the trails we end up on are reasonably challenging.

I love strength training, and I find the changes in my ability and appearance very motivating... I don't need variety, as much as I need results, LOL!

This was my most rewarding week yet... I got new work-out clothes, I feel really good in my skin, and on my one REALLY bad day, I streaked anyway... I discovered that now it is easier to exercise, than it is to avoid it.

All in all, my third GREAT week!

Twenty-one days down, and a lifetime to go (and I'm NOW looking forward to it)!

If you're interested, you can read the details of my week and what I've learned so far (A LOT), here (I've committed to blogging daily for my first month):
