RAMONA that's why I love God so much because he always put someone in your life to lift you up. You don't know who they are or where they coming from. But I had a sister in the church and she knew when something was wrong and would call me and encourage me. Praise the father for all his grace and mercy.

Ramona,

It isn't me that know you so well, but God, and He speaks to my spirit, as to what to say to you! If it's right on time, GREAT! If not, then just file it away for future use.

I'm delighted that God gave me the gift of touching others lives with His Words. You're part of my family, just as if my mom birthed you! When I connect with certain people, that's what it feels like. It feels like you're my blood born sister!

With God at the rudder, there's only one way to be and that is honest! When your season is up, He'll change the direction of the rudder!

I appreciate you and your wit, as you make me do HARD BELLY GUT LAUGHS!!! It's good for my lungs to do that, and I love the way God using the laugher for my spirit man and my physical man. Keep up the good work, as the three of us, God, you, and I have this weight issues BEAT!

Blessings!

Ah, Nancy Jean, I love you and your passion!

Your words touch me deeply, and I say AMEN!

How do you know me so well? "Don't move that mountain, even though I know you have mountain moving power. Just glance over your shoulder to look at that mountain when you feel, like you're not able to go on, or you just don't feel like it today. Look at that mountain and realize how far God has brought you!" AMEN.

"God says, not to make plans for the next day, as it's a day that we haven't been promised. Now, our Lord knows that we'll be making plans for the future, so He made provisions for that. He says that if you MUST make those plans for the future, just say, "God Willing!""
LOL! AMEN... I make plans and whisper, "Men plan, God laughs!"

...My plans are just to keep me honest until God corrects my compass!

THANK YOU so much for the encouragement and wisdom. I surely do appreciate both!

Dr. Jason Fung: "Holy consensus, Batman. With so many 'experts' from Michelle Obama to the USDA to virtually all of the medical professionals (including doctors and dieticians) agreeing that 'Eat Less, Move More' is the way to go, you might think that it is 100% unquestionably true. But here's a queer thought... if we all agree that we know the cure for obesity, and we've spent billions on educations and programs - why are we getting fatter? In other words, why does this 'cure' suck so bad?

Romona,

Girl, just look at all that you've accomplished! Look at where you placed that that GOAL MET CHECK! It's right there on the TOP OF EVERYTHING! That's as it should be!

Keep all of those streaks, ALIVE!!! You're on a mission, from the Almighty, and He will sustain you!!!!

Yeah, that fourth week can be a KILLER! Once you've been doing the same, whatever it is, for an ENTIRE MONTH, it becomes a habit, and when that happened to me, I no longer woke to find the rest of my life gets taken care of first and maybe exercise later. Now it's the exact opposite and I LOVE IT!!! I happy to see that you persevered and DID IT!!!

WOW, up before the alarm and the house feels like a HOME! Talk about NSV! I'm looking at your looking at your list and you have everything in there, except for the stainless steel kitchen sink! You've truly been blessed to have all of those NSVs where you're able to turn around and see that mountain is behind you! Don't move that mountain, even though I know you have mountain moving power. That mountain behind you are all the baby steps it took to get you where you are today! Just glance over your shoulder to look at that mountain when you feel, like you're not able to go on, or you just don't feel like it today. Look at that mountain and realize how far God has brought you!

Keep making your short and long term goals, as they may seem to change from time to time, and that's okay! There's just one thing I would like to point out to you and you can find it in the WORD! Yes, I see all the plans that you've made for the future, but remember that God says, not to make plans for the next day, as it's a day that we haven't been promised. Now, our Lord knows that we'll be making plans for the future, so He made provisions for that. He says that if you MUST make those plans for the future, just say, "God Willing!"

Than you Ramona for a FANTASTIC BLOG!!!

Blessings,

Finish your streak

Hi, everybody!

My Goals, briefly: In addition to a basic 10 minutes of INTENTIONAL EXERCISE daily (which has three components - cardio, strength, family), I'm also streaking 30 minutes of DECLUTTERING daily, and waking up at 6:00 AM DAILY.

All in all, my fourth week was fine, though it was my hardest week in terms of 'getting it done' (the shine was off, and it was more tempting to allow life to interfere... I also had more personal challenges with which to contend)... yet it was my most satisfying week in terms of doing it... because, no matter what, I DID IT!

I'm waking up before my alarm more than not, doing the exercise is easier than not doing it, and my home feels a lot more like... well... HOME.

In addition, my energy levels are up: though I am totally tired out by day's end, I wake up feeling rejuvenated and ready to do it all again. Before I began streaking, this hadn't been the case for a very long time. I was living in a self-perpetuating, chronic state of exhaustion.

There has been no change according to the scale but my NSVs include:

I can cross my legs again!
I can get out of ANY chair without hoisting, or heaving.
More energy... enough to get through whatever the day brings, and often a little left over.
A big goofy grin on my face a good part of the day.
A dining table that is always clear and pretty.
I'm not having to stress about school starting because we're almost ready.
I eliminated inches!
I'm definitely stronger.
No more joint pain.
Improved balance (I've stopped tipping over when I close my eyes).
A sense of accomplishment and pride that I lacked (and longed for).
An increase in family closeness (a family that plays together, stays together).
A more peaceful home.
I am much more relaxed, and I laugh from my belly a lot more.
I'm feeling less isolated.
Still tired more than I'd like to be, but ENERGIZED and resilient (responsive, rather than reactive).
Finding JOY in my home again.
My daughter is copying my example!
My Mr. is inspired by my efforts and is also making changes.
My moods are more level.
My clothes fit better.

At this point I have both mid- and long-term goals.

Because I am still not able to go full out with anything (injury is still a very real possibility), and because September is a month of upheaval and re-adjustment, I am going to continue on just as I am until the end of September, at which time I will re-evaluate: at least 10 minutes INTENTIONAL EXERCISE daily (M, W, F - 30 minutes rebounder whenever possible, Tu, Th, Sa - body weight strength exercises, plus 30 minutes rebounder whenever possible, Su - family fitness activity - largely geocaching/hiking/biking). This will be my LIFESTYLE framework for the rest of my life.

The goals I am working up to include:

buying a Bellicon Rebounder between now and Christmas 2014 - I've found my JOY-full exercise that will keep me strong and healthy well into my senior years

return to ballroom dancing in January 2015

take a Bollywood dance class - hopefully September 2014 - it depends on availability

DDP Yoga - October

New Rules of Lifting for Women - January 2015

Joining a boxing club - September 2015

Compete in my city's Dragon Boat Races (hopefully next summer)

get my diving certification "?" (I hate swimming so this one may need another challenge to get me through, lol)

Walking/Biking the Trans-Canada Trail - with our daughter over the next 8 years

Walking/Biking from Paris, France to Santiago de Compostela, on the coast of Spain - El Camino De Santiago - when my husband retires

Twenty-eight days down, and the beginning of a lifetime in which to celebrate good health, fitness and BALANCE.
