I'm going to try writing out the rest of the meal plans for this week and see what happens. My goal is to use what I have in the kitchen instead of cooking on a whim and letting things go bad that I already had.

So here goes- day One

Hi, I am a horrible cook; I tend to burn everything: chicken, turkey burgers, eggs, etc., so I tend to eat out way too much or rely on frozen dinners, which are way to high in sodium. My goal this week is to cook one meal a day, and not worry about the result.

My goal is to create a meal plan and actually stick to it. I will try not to lose my motivation by deciding a recipe is too much work; or get discouraged because I think nobody will like what I'm making.

My goal is to plan my meals for the week and create a shopping list.
1st step: I will purchase a magnetic paper and pen to keep on the refrigerator.
2nd step: I will dust off my cook books and start going through my recipes.
3rd step: I will get my family involved.

My goal is to 1 - create a menu for the week (I do this in my head but having it on paper will be better organized and I won't forget things) 2 - create a shopping list (I'm really bad about this).

I cook most every night, and my menu is repetitive. My goal is to try new, healthy recipes that will add more variety and flavor to my diet. Another goal is to make meals that can be frozen for those days I don't have time or don't feel much like cooking!

My ultimate goal is to be ready to go back to work in September (I am a teacher) with a plan for healthy meals. I have cleaned my kitchen...I still have to clear the kitchen table emoticon

I took out some healthy cookbooks from the library and purchased a crock pot too! My mother and I are going to work together to try out some of the meals in the new cookbooks and create a meal plan calendar!

Planning for me is a habit and I cook most nights already. I am, however, in a rut. I am hoping this challenge will help me change it up in a healthy way.

So my goal for this week is to prepare 2 healthy meals I have never made before.

Making (and eating from) a healthful grocery list and actually being able to AFFORD it are two very different things in my house! I am actively attempting to clean up my kitchen and find creative ways to include all of the healthful things that I love without breaking my bank.

My goal for the week: plan healthful dinners that will satisfy both me and my (extremely picky and "stick thin") hubby (and won't cost me an arm and a leg!).

Hello Team!
I've planned before and never followed through so my goal is to make a plan and stick with it. I am going to go through my freezer and plan around what I already have and pick up the fresh veggies and fruits I need the same day or day before so they do not go to waste.

I am only one,
But still I am one.
I cannot do everything,
But still I can do something;
And because I cannot do everything
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.

My goal for the first week of the challenge is to review what I have in my fridge and pantry and plan my meals using those items. I tend to go grocery shopping when I still have plenty of food in my kitchen. This leads to things going bad relatively often. I want to stop being wasteful and eat more healthily along the way.

My goal this week is to clean out the fridge and pantry. See what food I actually have that can be used up with meals. I have a tendency to buy food that I either already have or can't use with what I already have. So a lot of stuff ends up sitting in my pantry for awhile. After that, I will plan my meals for the week.

No matter how fast you go, you're still lapping everybody on the couch.

My goal is (again) to PLAN my meals for the week. It is just the two of us now, and I have a hard time cutting back how much I am making. I hate throwing away that many leftovers.

I am a complete foodie! Food Network is always on in my house. I want to be able to cook delicious and healthy foods.

I am also watching my sodium, not for health reasons but because it impedes my weight loss and bloats me.

My goals are to cook 5 times a week. My kitchen is already stocked with healthy items and produce. I want to try some batch cooking as well

I want to eat/cook healthier, but coming up with a specific challenge for this group was harder than I expected.

I need to learn to cook quicker (avoiding that Feed Me Now personal demon), but more importantly, I need to make that shift from 'cooking is a chore' to 'cooking is fun and easy'. Fast, healthy recipes will work some days, but for me, learning to throw together something healthy based on whatever healthy bits and pieces are already in the kitchen will be much more useful for me in the long run.

I've tried meal plans in the past, but my cravings change and I change them up to accomodate.

My goal this week is to get my frig and pantry cleaned out, set up on my calendar when I'm making the menu/grocer list and when I go to the grocery store and farmer's market. I also am going to limit going out to eat to two times (date night and a girl's night out coming out - so no unplanned eating out.)

Hey, look at all the new folks! Welcome to the challenge! I see a bunch of great goals going here! Remember always the Spark Motto: Baby steps! If you try to do it all at once you are surely setting yourself up to fail, so pick your most urgent goal and work on that first. Mine these days is buying healthy foods while on what seems to be an ever-dwindling budget. I can't possibly do it with the dinners planned, so every Saturday morning I sit down with the flyers, see what's on sale, then plan the following week around those items. Thank goodness we like rice, beans, pasta and the like - you know, the cheap but filling stuff!

My goal is to put a little more time into meal planning. I usually do it on a day to day basis, which means too many trips to the store. Even planning three days in a row would be an improvement, saving me time and money. Also, although my kitchen contains mostly healthy items, it could use a good re-organization in terms of where stuff is, so I don't have to spend time searching for utensils.

My goal for this week is the kitchen makeover. I have three other people at home so it is going to be tough to get rid of some of the fattier foods. I have designated a place for them in my garage where they can be stored. Those who eat them will have to walk a few extra steps to get to them. Lol!

Week one is going well. I made my master grocery list on Sunday and have been adding to it since.
I make my meal list generally 3 to 4 days at a time since right now produce is so plentiful and I don't want it to spoil before I can use it. I hope to continue working on organizing my kitchen a little better if time permits:)

Am thinking perhaps I should have waited to start this challenge. I generally plan a week of meals (more or less) before I go shopping and make a list to make sure I have all the ingredients. Rarely do I plan the whole week of all meals and what day the meals are prepared. Hmmmm . . . would surely help keep things on track more. Am under a lot of deadlines right now, including a Stateside trip for a conference the first week of August. I'll see what I can do, BUT just read a Spark article about reducing stress by learning when to say no. I may have to say "wait until we get back" on this one. Will see.

My goals for the upcoming weeks are to plan my meals out on my Sparkpeople nutrition tracker at least 4 days ahead, print out the grocery list, and then do the shopping.

To fit in with my marathon training schedule, once a week I'll make sure I'll plan to make a big pot of something healthy like turkey chili that I can divide out into servings and freeze for the nights I'm scheduled to train.

My goal is to create a menu for two weeks time. The weekly sales ads will be in my mailbox tomorrow and I will sit down with them and a calendar. I will write down the name of the meal on the date i will cook it. I will write out my grocery list and categorize it by department (freezer, produce, dairy, cans, deli)and I will go shopping on Friday after work.

I'd like to start creating more healthy FAMILY meals this week. Often, I fix a separate meal for my family, and a "diet" meal my myself. I'd like to combine the two. I know it can be done, just takes a little more effort. My goal is to fix at least 4 such meals this week.

Ye have compassed this mountain long enough; turn you northward.

My challenge this week is to complete menus for the week that are healthy and tasty. I would like to try a couple new salads this week.

my challenge this week is that we will be out of town for the next week, Wednesday-Wednesday. I will work on breakfasts, lunches and snacks that we can take with us. I bought fruits, celery, carrots, cauliflour and lean ham, low fat cheese and wraps for sandwiches for lunch, cupcake quiches for breakfast along with yogurt and nuts for snacks. Now that I have planned well,my challenge will be to eat them and not go out to eat high calorie meals.
