Yes. Cleaning the house counts as exercise. I downloaded a cardio trainer on my android, and it will track house work, yard work, walking and many more.

I was bad and worked out but didn't log the minutes for Sept. (Hey, was on vacation for a week in there, too!) Anyhow, just added all my minutes. The "Geezers" are going down!

And I start water aerobics and adult swim this week. 3 days in the water. Bye bye geezer! ha! ha! Gooooooooooooooooooooooo 30 somethings!!!!!

I AM IN!!! I am adding 3 30 minute circuit training session each week so that will be an extra 240 minutes for me for the month on top of what I am already logging as part of my training. This was the motivation I needed to boost my fitness minutes without adding any extra running. I have been wanting to fit strength training in but was always finding some excuse not to now I have a excuse to.

Just finished 40 high intensity butt kicking, sweat dripping minutes.....I wish my strength training days counted as well but this did make me add a minimum of 20 mins of cardio on those days as well.

So far this month I have 141 minutes.

To Mom2Boyz1Girl: I know what you are talking about. My kids are getting older now so I don't have the issue as much. But sometimes with all the activities they are in, I am to busy with that in order to fit the exercise in. Just remember that you can take a day off from exercising, and if you can just get 30 minutes in throughout the day you are doing good.

I know why they are all beating us... They don't have little kids that they have to take on a walk or find a sitter for just to be able to get exercise in!! Well at least that is my issue!!


But even with kids I have been getting 45 min-60 a day!!

@SHERRIH - yup, just log your minutes into your fitness tracker. Easy, right?

@RUSSELL37 - that's tricky because Spark counts team members as anyone who ever joined - even if they joined our team 5 years ago for one day and fell off the face of the earth, they still count in our team numbers. There is no way to pull out how many *active* team members there are. From what I can gather, we're about neck and neck with their team. We have 374,000 members and they have 369,000. They routinely cream us in minutes. Actually, you're the inspiration for this challenge, Russell - you're the one who pointed out their team minutes to me a few months ago. I tuck away every nugget of goodness. Thank you. emoticon

I'm in. Silly question though, we just log our minutes as we would regularly in our fitness trackers, correct? I have been a member for a while, but not very active in the boards and such so I want to make sure we can get every minute we can. I am also at the plateau stage and need a little more motivation, plus some cooler weather, AZ is pretty warm right now.

Heck no, it's not cheating!!! There are no rules here - Spark is flexible with their diet plans and we are flexible with our social/support group. Stay active in whatever teams you are most comfortable in. OK, so they're not *really* geezers, but did you know that we're getting our butts kicked in fitness minutes by Team 50 Somethings with 50-99 Pounds to Lose?

Unacceptable, Team 30 Somethings with 50-99 Pounds to Lose! We are young, vibrant, and should have enough energy to lead ALL of SparkPeople in fitness minutes.

September's mission: Knock Team 50 Somethings off of their #1 spot, crowning ourselves #1!!!!!!!

All you have to do is log your fitness minutes into Spark. (And log more minutes than usual, obviously, since we consistently lose to them.) The Spark leaderboards will do all the calculating. Be sure to stop by our team boards to chat on our Challenges forum along the way. We should have some great conversation going! (Especially if Team 50 Somethings gets wind of our challenge...and its name. emoticon )

Little "FYI" too - about two months ago I did SparkMail all of their team leaders to see if we could get a team challenge going, them vs. us. They didn't even take the time to reply to me, not one of them! So, let's use that to put some fire under our hineys and show them we ARE to be reckoned with!

Come on, Team 30 somethings - let's do this!!!
