Finished week 1 yesterday. Excited about week 2. As it stands my plan for the week is:

Tuesday - Week 2, Day 1 - Walk 25 continous minutes - Completed 1.18 miles
Thursday - Week 2, Day 2 - Walk 1.75 miles - Completed in 35 minutes
Saturday - Week 2, Day 3 - Walk 2 miles - Ended up doing 2.27 miles

WEEK 2 COMPLETE! This is a big deal for me because I normally start out strong for the 1st week and do not get to the second week on some other challenges I have attempted. On to week 3 tomorrow! Yipee.

I will remain focused through the full 5 week challenge!!

Have a great week everyone! emoticon

Started week 2 with 2.4 miles in 50 min. I took Tau'ri, our dog, along with me & she's starting to keep up with the pace. Not as much sniff time as she'd prefer. I knocked 5-7 min. off the time for potty p/u (?) & socializing with fellow walkers/neighbors. This is my first evening run & while the temp is OK I prefer the solitude of early a.m. walks. We"ll see how tomorrow goes.

Wow~~ How encouraging to see so many of us doing the same thing at the same time! Wonderful! Anyway... End of Day 1, wk 2. I had a fabulous 1.75 morning walk in the country this morning. I feel Great! This evening I mapped out and drove a 2, 5, 10 mile course, getting ready for the future! Keep up the good work!

I've completed Week 2, but not much more than three walks. This week doesn't look much better: my mother is having surgery on Monday and I will be taking care of her. I'm hoping to get in more workouts and cross-training.

Well, I didn't get my 30 minutes in a oner, and I didn't get my walk outside this afternoon, even though it was dry.
However, I have managed 2 x 20 minutes, which I'm actually quite happy with, after all the driving.

And now - I'll go introduce myself to the Week 3 thread.

It's been awhile since I'd done any walking and I'm so happy that week 1 went well and week 2 now is good too ... phew! I was worried my body had forgotten how to move but it seems to have picked up where I left off before I fell off the wagon :)

Tomorrow is my day to make that 2 mile walk. I used to walk 4, but haven't been able to since my injury last year. I made it 1.82 the other day so I'm sure I can do it! Hope the weather is nice in the morning cuz that is how I plan to start my day!

I'm still kinda marking time - so I've taken today as my rest day. I was thinking I was taking it early, till I started typing this note. I see today should be my W2D7!
I just haven't done, specifically, the 2-mile walk for Day 6. But I actually did more than that on my Day 3 - just didn't count it all to this training (I split it between this training and my daily cardio).
OK - so I haven't actually done myself out of anything, here - just a load of shuffling in the order of things!
So tomorrow, I can actually make a stab at W3D1, the 30 minutes continuous walking. Nice for my afternoon, as I have to drive to collect my younger son and bring him back here for a couple of days - so maybe 3 hours driving with hardly a break. I hope the weather is dry tomorrow afternoon, to let me get outside and do my 30 minutes in the fresh air.

Took my 2nd walk of the week, and although I started a timer, I forgot to stop it when I got home. Probably was about 30 minutes though, not too bad for 1.75 miles and no walking for 6 months.

Well, I had a very short day today.
I stayed upstairs in bed with my magnet pads till this afternoon.
What a difference there is in my left foot! As also some of my other joints!

However, I did manage some movement, today. Shopping, dishwasher, laundry, and a wee bit of heavy cleaning (as opposed to normal stuff).

I'm not entirely sure whereabouts I am in the programme, right now! But I'm sure I'll be sorted out in the next few days - and still walking!

I got through week 2 much better than I expected. I wasn't sure I could do two miles (for some reason it sounded a lot farther than 1.75 miles that I did on Wednesday) but I did it.

Way TOO HOT and HUMID yesterday to be outside so I did my walking indoors....Mall walking. Was able to get in 2 miles of steady movement and followed them up with a good 15 miutes of stretch. Determined that the weather would not interfer with my workout.
This morning pushed the hand mower (the old blade type push mower) for 75 minutes. Now Break-Time. The biggest thing I had to remember was to keep drinking....really Humid out.

My Week 2 has been a bit all over the place - I haven't known till the day what I'll be doing, where. I prefer to have it sorted in my head the night before!
W2D1 - 25 minutes walking
W2D2 - cross-training. 2 mins on the elliptical, and 16 minutes going up and down the stairs.
W2D3 - my 1.75 ml walk ended up as 3 mls.
W2D4 (today) - my cross-training ended up going out for a walk with DH. 1.8 mls in 45 mins.

My left heel is really aching, so thank goodness tomorrow is rest or cross-training. A couple of nights on my magnets will help. Also, tomorrow is a strength training day for me: lower body work out. So I'll get some good work in on my legs joints, and some good stretching as well.
Also, I think I'd be better to concentrate on some shorter distances, and maybe try to do them a couple of times a day, instead of 1 big splurge. After all, I'm not looking for the stamina to go further than 5K just yet. But it's a race, so I need to be looking at my times a bit more.

WOW I walked today around our local college student center. (Can not walk outside wicked allergies). Pick up an interesting walking pal. An older gentlemen who was looking for a special friend. emoticon We walked together but I told him up front I was married and he would get no play. Although this did not stop him persuing me. Not the first time this has happened. I did not want to be mean to this lonely older man. But no!!! our walk was interesting........ Not only did walk 25 min but an extra 40 mins extra at that time a young girl joined me. Wow what a busy day for walking. just a day of walking. Two miles will be done on the cycling bike.

My husband 'made' me walk tonight with him too. LOL Went for another 2.25 mile walk! Wowzers! I was going to do some strength training in the morning, but I think I'm going to be WAY to beat.

So do I get to skip my day 2 walk later in the week? :D

I walked today, more of a leisure walk, had the dogs with us. Did 4 miles in about 80 minutes.
I carried Titan my Yorkie in his carry all the last 1/2 mile, his little legs were tired. So it's just like carrying a baby in front of you.
Later I went out and did 2 miles in 30 minutes. Thats my usual speed, with my bad left knee.

I'm jumping in at week 2. I walked this morning (Yay for me, I'm so not a morning person!) and did 2 miles in 38 minutes. I wanted to get a good read on how fast I'm walking and I knew I could do 2 miles (did over 2 miles Friday night!)

I'm counting it as week 2 day 1 and I'll go from here to improve both my stamina and speed!
