Day 46 - Monday and President's Day - and physically just not interested in walking - pain levels creeping up and energy levels going down - eating well and did get stairs in which continue to be hard for my physical limitations but determined to keep them in my life as we have a two story house with laundry and storage all downstairs. Goal is still to see how far I can go on Saturday in home form of challenge. Blessing on those that can still do the real thing!!

2/15 Day 42 Valentines Day and special time with hubby - got in 35min. on stationary bike - liking that I can do that without stressing my chest or pulse rate - that it feels good to get in the good range of motion work-out
2/16 Day 43 Daily activities of living - the purpose of walking and building strength and I tolerated working in the house to clear shelf of books and box them and to the village to mail them to a home-schooling group my niece is active in. And when time to do machine of the day had already walked 3000 steps - good for me. So took a nap and then to the elliptical and will close the day over 5000 steps including getting supper for us. I am content in life!!! One week to go till I do the test to see how far I can go. Woohoo.

Day 40 - Doctor day and he seems to think I should NOT try to do another out-door 5K - stick to the safety of the treadmill with my levels of neuropathy increasing - He doesn't want to discourage me but even with the two canes, the outside is just not safe for me - a fall would really set my back and my in-home mobility and to be able to go to farmer's markets with my husband are primary goals so be content.

Day 41 - am surprised with all the good doctor reports on all health aspects - the saying no to a 5K is really hitting me today - don't want to do anything!!! Tomorrow is another day and will whip myself back into shape here soon.

Day 38 was Sunday so no machines - 2500 steps in church and grocery store -

Day 39 planned to do incline in treadmill but important phone call interrupted - I usually do not answer any phone calls in "My time" but had been watching for this one and just turned off the machine when it came in - will try again later in the week - caught some stationary bike to make up the difference - good range of motion for my needs.

Day 36 did some walking on the grass - was really unsteady and when I realized I had forgotten to take my emergency nitro ad phone I eased back into the house safely.

Day 37 - got on the treadmill - am really not gaining much but will do what I can every day - consistency is so important and I will do what I can - Pain levels up and energy low - One day at a time and step by step ...

This thread is from several years ago but it fits so am going to record my progress here for the next approx. three weeks - Mine is a therapeutic walk with canes or walker if needed but have set a goal for around Feb 24 to walk my second 5K - I have heart stents and congestive heart failure, fibromyalgia, and neuropathy - very little feeling in legs below the knees and arthritis in knees and hips. but am determined to maintain mobility at some level and was challenged to try this again - I was successful 6/18/16 in similar effort - legs are much weaker now but wanting to do this if possible on treadmill or on composite track at the school as I did before. Will see what Dr says on 2/13.

SO this is Day 32 on the challenge and I have made a new calendar.

BRABBLE13 - Congrats on making it as far as you did. We all have one of those races at some point.

You should be proud of what you did because you had the courage to start and the grit to keep going.

Train some more and go for another 5K.

That's what's so cool about this program. There is nothing that says one can't repeat a week or even go back a week or more if necessary. This is truly 5K Your Way. Sorry you have had setbacks, but it sounds like you are pushing forward. Keep up the good work.

I am staying in week five due to setback in my health and the emergency surgery of my Aunt. But I am maintaining at least 45 min of walking 3 times a week while I regain my stregth. Thanks for understanding!
