Week 5 Day (gulp) 6!!

Yep; I'm blamin' salt, too! emoticon

Hey, Chel, did you find any time to check out flylady? I went back after a long hiatus and it was so refreshing! I'm back in the mood to do those "little things" throughout my day that when done with consistency can give the illusion of a "self cleaning house"!! Just gotta use some of my after work time a little bit more wisely...

Lol Jayne you would think but no, 2 lb gain. I had a HORRIBLE week last week and did 2 good days but 4 days of no tracking and bad food choices. I had held my own until yesterday. I did track yesterday and was in my norms but I think the sodium from the chinese might be the culprit. I have 3 weeks to loose 5 lbs for my next goal.
You are doing great Jayne Keep it up.

Hi everyone! Haven't been checking in because my computer wouldn't let me onto this page. I'm doing fairly well. Down 4 lbs from last week. Getting in lots of exercise which has helped and following my trackers. I'mnot following their meal plans either. I have been planning out my own meals based on the food I have in the house. Works better for me.

Chelemia, my heavens, you've gotten so much done! I feel like a slacker compared to you. That's Super! Hope it pays off when you get on the scale this week!!!!

Have an awesome day everyone!

WOW! Wish I could lend you a physical hand to get caught up!! If I were you I would be so overwhelmed I'd probably sit down in the middle of it all, paralyzed as to where to start and end up accomplishing a whole lot of nothing! That's one of the reasons I feel so blessed to have found a website a few years back (has it really been 8???) www.flylady.net . Spending time there helped me to find some personal peace, set reasonable priorities, learn that sometimes you only have 15 minutes to spend on any one project, just a whole lot of help that over time has allowed me to reset myself when I am so overwhelmed and paralyzed. You may well be what "flylady" calls "BO" - or Born Organized...I am not; I used to live in "CHAOS" - Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome! LOL But I'm better now, and I STILL keep my "Control Journal" close at hand, even if I don't follow it to the letter.

Yep, my heart goes out to you. Remember that you NEED to take 15 minutes just for YOU sometimes, too.

I AM THERE!!! I AM SOOOOOOOOOO THERE!!!! I don't use theri menu because I have a picky hubby and want to learn choices from the beginning. It is easier and harder at the same time. but I have had a week from hell and financial stress is weakening me. I am sleeping(2 out of 7 days) but working 3 jobs, caring for hubby, and this week overtime with the God kids while their mum recovers from ER gall bladder surgery Wed. SO today Is a half day off(I work the next 2 evenings.) and My house is about to be labeled a disaster area by me!!! So mowing , laundry(dryers broke!) poop control, (3 dogs) running dogs. fixing 6 ft fence(puppy jumping it. ) Vacuum, dishes(3 ft tall-hubby responsibility but since hospital scare on Monday not done!) Pick up free wood. Replace blown tire on Hubbys truck, Set up stuff here to decorate God daughters 2nd Birthday party Saturday at their house for Sunday.
pay bills. Fill out mortage re....stuff due next Friday(my next day off!).
Yep preaching to the choir Sister but I hurt my foot so exercise is at half right now to build back up slowly.
Food choices as of yesterday well....toilet bowl!!
Starting tonight I will set up and start again.
I am just tired (not sleepy!)

Wow I guess I needed to vent...
Don't worry this is actually a normal week for me ....on the rough side.
And so ...
THIS TOO SHALL PASS...OK GO music video see the paint one feels like me life and is very cool!!!

Week 5 Day 2

Thanks, Chelemia! I will gratefully accept all support offered this week!!!

I finally slept through the night; in fact, I woke only 10 minutes before the alarm and it was a real struggle to get up before the beeper woke my husband. I did not work out this morning - no crime; it's the first day I have missed in 4 weeks and 2 days! - but I don't want to make a habit of skipping...

Food choices are hard the last couple of days - don't WANT what has been preselected for me...but I did make the Parmesan Baked Tilapia with mashed potatoes and carrots for dinner last night. The only thing wrong with that is that this recipe is so delicious and I am so wanting to comfort my hurt feelings and fears with food so much that I had to actually leave the house to keep from eating more than my "fair share"!

TGIF...I think...

Week 5 Day 1

...and another pound has disappeared. Week 4 was tough - not as far as the challenge, but life pulled the rug out from under me. However, this time I persevered. I never skipped a workout; I never gave up on the meal plans; I kept my nutrition tracking caught up, even when I went to a Sunday Potluck and had to really work at finding a way to log some foods I could not quite verify recipes for. I'm doing the best I can with getting enough sleep, and although I'm still waking up way before my alarm, I continue to go through my normal routines and get to bed at a decent hour; when I wake up early (90 minutes or more) I'm working on "resting" and using self-hypnosis techniques to shut out the worry thoughts and focus on allowing my body the time it needs to rejuvenate itself.

I feel like I'm at a standstill. I am exercising like I should and eating right. I'm also using the trackers to make sure I'm on track. I keep fluctuating on my weight between gaining weight and back to 161. I have been this way now for about 1 month. I have this plateau before and it lasted a couple of weeks. So maybe I just need to keep working and it will pass. This is my 5 week.

Sunny days coming. I love to be outside!

Subrina44, the holiday has me off too. I stayed up too late last night, so I'm too tired to exercise today. I forgot to take my FBG this morning, but I'm pretty sure it was high because I went off the rails carb-wise last night. I'm still trying to get back on track from the Labor Day weekend. I haven't given up though--week 6 awaits... emoticon

I have been very busy over the Labor Day weekend with a wedding to go to and a youth rally to go to. I have not really been exercising except for keeping busy. My sugar was 158 this morning and I was not able to exercise yet just keep busy cleaning the church.

FBG is 121 this morning...not as good as the days when I wake up early and exercise, go back to sleep for a few hours and then check the BG, but still not bad. The scale was not as friendly--I gained weight over the 4-day weekend. I'm back in the groove though, so we'll see what the next few days bring. I start week 6 tomorrow. emoticon

Before I went on Labor Day vacation I had lost some more weight...I was at 248.5 lbs. I was so thrilled, but now that I'm back, I'm scared to weigh myself. I mean it was vacation, so even though I was trying not to overdo it, I still wanted to enjoy myself. And I forgot to take my monitor, so I haven't checked my BG in 3 days. I think I did okay though, so I'm hoping things won't be too bad when I weigh in and check my glucose tomorrow. I even managed to do some exercising while I was away. So...keeping my fingers crossed!

I haven't tracked my food yet today--been way too busy. But I think I've done pretty good calorie-wise--sausage mcmuffin (no cheese) for breakfast; salad and beef bologna sandwich for lunch (1 slice of bread) with one serving low salt potato chips; a chicken leg and 3 oz. beef ribs and that's it. Too much fat, I know, but it should still be within the allotted calorie range.

My FBG was 96 this morning; another great reading! I did strength training and cardio when I woke up at 4:45 am for 1 hour and went back to sleep. Last night for dinner I did have one serving of carbs (southwestern rice), but I didn't have carbs for snack at 9:30 p.m., just a mini baby bell light cheese round. So far this routine is keeping the glucose levels in check. So thankful.

I was so excited I posted my note in the wrong place (I don't remember where, lol). Anyway this is the beginning of Week 5, and it's off to a rocking start. The FBG is 95 this morning, and since I was awakened at 4 a.m, I decided to get up and do my exercises--1 hour of strength training interspersed with cardio. Last night I did not eat any carbs with dinner, and I ate a snack about 9:30pm--nuts, boiled egg, and 1/2 cup of chocolate ice cream. I was still at the low end of my calorie allotment for the day.

Still in it to win it! emoticon

First day of week 5 I ate a little too much yesterday for lunch and have not checked my weight yet until Friday. My sugar was 200 this morning. My problem was that I ate Mexican food for lunch yesterday and that is were I went wrong at. But I don't worry because I know that I will get right back up and straighten up and do right.

Today is the last day of Week 5. I'm doing well, I think. I've tracked every day, my blood sugars are more and more steady, and I had a very good appointment with my cardiologist yesterday. I am definitely encouraged!

W5D5 254 this morning - forgot night time meds. I have found a great yoga class that I can go to on my way home.

W5D4 Okay well since I "messed up" - I said I was going to start over with week 3 and thought no, that's not the way to do this. The lesson in this is to pick myself up, dust myself off and get moving again as all the "start overs" is what costs me because I think all of this needs to be perfect. No more. Glucose was 250 this morning.

Hope everyone has a great day.

p.s. Cathy, I love Bonefish Grill!

Well, my husband and I did a little celebrating last evening with dinner at Bonefish Grill. Great food. I slipped off the wagon. I'm getting right back on this morning. The Creme Brulee was worth it!

My 44th anniversary is today. We're going to Bonefish Grill for dinner tonight. My husband got my new treadmill put together yesterday, and right now, life is good!

There were some difficult moments this week. Lots of socializing around food and days when I really had to find the time to squeeze in the exercise. But I am noticing a huge difference in my FBS I'm in the 110-116 range every morning now. Everything is making me want more of this good healthy feeling. I want to sweat and move. I want my smaller portions. It doesn't really seem like punishment. I'll be checking my weight this monday, but I think I've lost about 10 pounds... I hope everyone else is feeling even just a bit of what I am today, and I know you'll all have smiles on your faces! Keep it up!

Started week 5 out with a down mood, and I'm not sure exactly why. I tracked, but not as well. I ate on program, but not quite as well, and I didn't get off my butt. It was just one of those days. Things will go better today!

W5D3...Didn't post last night 'cuz internet went out. Talk about frustrating. Walked, stayed op, drank my water, but my emotional grid has been all over the place. For the first time in a while I'm not looking forward to tomorrow. emoticon
