Yeah, I had to have my bike adapted for a very upright position, because I'm supposed to avoid bending forward due to having no disc at my L5/S1--it's bone-on-bone, and any kind of compression can pinch my sciatic nerve.

(Also, no planks, many yoga positions are Right Out, and lots of adaptation. I'm having a swell time with it.)

Wow! You've had a lot going on health-wise. So glad you got back on! Two miles is two miles, and now you're bike is in good shape for more of those rides. You've conquered the intimidation factor.

As some of you might know, I was the leader of this group a couple years ago. I then had a couple really bad years--finding out I have degenerative disc disease bad enough that the doctor took me off the bike for a full season, followed by a heart scare (I'm fine-though still paying off the after insurance, out-of-pocket $8000 for *testing*--no treatment, just tests.) And then being intimidated by the whole thing.

Well, we finally got a warm day today, and I dragged my bike out from behind the lawn mower, the snow blower, and the gardening tools. It was dusty, and the tires were pancaked. But some air, some chain oil, and some cleaning happened, and I got on my bike and rode.

It was only two miles. I was sucking air like a bellows. My shoulders are a little sore this evening. But I did it!

Tomorrow will be even better.
