I posted them earlier today over on a different thread under this forum - I think I called it something like - "Links to Exercises for 2016"? It's the second one in this Exercise Resources forum.

I think, lol...

Kacy- I would appreciate the links also. I had some on my favorites bar and it got wiped out. I was able to find a few that I had on there before, but not all.

Hi, Marenvila! I’ll try answering the question I think you asked (lol). If you’re unsure about how to select a link – which is basically just a shortcut to a specific webpage – scroll down through this thread (group of messages) until you see NEWMOON’s post:

Notice the underlined parts in blue. The first one beginning with www.youtube.com is a link that will take you directly to that youtube clip about Latin Chair dancing. (The instructor is Paul Eugene – he is lively, engaging, and does all sorts of chair exercise videos.) The second underlined blue sentence will take you to a team NEWMOON leads - and although it's probably a shameless plug on my part, by all means, take a look at it. ;-)

Of course, the link won't work on this photo - you'll need to go directly to NEWMOON's post. Hover over that blue line and your cursor should change to a pointing finger – as soon as that happens you know you’ve got your mouse on the right area. Click the left button and it should take you directly to that clip; it may open in the same window or a new one, depending on your computer settings.

You can then follow along with the clip, or bookmark it for another time, or even pause / reverse / fast-forward, just as you would watching a video or DVD on television.

Meanwhile, I will draw up a short list of chair exercise links – they are dotted around here on the CET forums, but it’s always good to switch things around and post them again.

Good morning all. What are links? Where do you find them and how do you use them? Have a great day.

NEWMOON - I absolutely love that arm-exercise video! She has the most cheerful demeanor, it's hard not to join in. And this one can be done anywhere, no equipment needed.

There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.
When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And
maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

Hi L.I.T.A.

Thanks for the heads up on the vid link not connecting. I think it was an SP issue

Seems to be working now. Let's hope it stays that way!

Posting the links would be great, EMMABE1, when you have a chance. Even a few at a time would be of help and much appreciated, I'm sure!

In reply to your message Kasey - at the moment there are 19 A4 pages of links - but they were posted roundabout about 2011 - so many may not now be of use - also they need to be tidied up. As I get time I will do this and check out the links and maybe add new ones to them and will post them here

CEREBELLUM, I only recently started using handweights, and I too like them better than the resistance bands. Not so easy to lug around (I have a set of small adjustable ones) but I think they're strengthening my muscles better than the bands do. Or maybe it's just the way I'm doing it, lol...

I do a lot of the spark video's for exercise. I do the chair ones, but do some standing ones for arms but just do them sitting in a chair. I also do some seated aerobic videos, but they use the legs more than I can, so I just do the arms and the core stuff, and some legs. The only equipment I use is hand weights. I have resistance bands, but like the weights much better.

This thread has been assigned a "sticky," which means it will always be one of the top threads in this forum.

If you have links to exercise videos or to chair-exercise websites, please share them here. You can also post information about other resources, such as equipment you've used and whether or not you've found it helpful. And if you know of DVDs, books, or other material, please post the name of these items and where to find them - and if they cost money.

Personally, I seek out the "free" exercises on the internet. There are quite a few on SparkPeople, but there are also other healthy-lifestyle websites that feature exercises; sometimes organizations like the American Heart Association or the UK's NHS will also have exercise sections on their websites.

Some of these will be on-your-feet exercises, but if you adapt any of these to change them to chair exercises, please feel free to post them here as well, including any changes you made.

Myself, I try not to focus on exercises that rely on equipment because I can't really afford a big investment into some of the items (they can get expensive) and I don't have the room in my small apartment. But please include any sources you can recommend that make use of exercise equipment, anything from resistance bands and dumbbells to cross-cable machines and arm ergometers.

Although our team includes as much information about healthy lifestyle as possible, the emphasis is on exercise - that's why we're The Chair Exercise Team!

So I encourage you to share with all of us and contribute your "finds." Every little bit helps!
