When it's really hot, I don't cook corn on the cob. Had two cold, raw ears for lunch today. White corn is especially good raw.

We love corn on the cob and fresh tomatoes for a summer dinner. (You do have to cook the corn)

My husband has made batches of chilled soups with Gazpacho being his favorite.

We love fresh fruits. Another idea is to have a variety of salad stuff pre-cut that you can throw together a fresh cool salad. We like baby carrots, celery, bell peppers (red, green, yellow, orange), cherry/grape tomatoes, baby cucumbers. You can also pick up the already cooked chicken from the deli case or the packets of tuna if you want to add some protein.

Hard boiled eggs and guacamole to make an egg salad.

Vanilla greek yogurts, granola and berries for a refreshing parfait.

Good luck and hope it cools off for you soon!

I am assuming you do not have A.C.? I am not sure I could survive without it.

When we didn't have it, I laid in front of a fan most of the time and did not
cook because I could not breathe. Exercising or any exertion was out of the
question. AND, you do feel the way you described because your body can
actually soak up the humid conditions.

Some of the things might be..a raw diet? That probably isn't going to hurt you
in the long run. Once the fluids start coming back off. if you need protein,
cold cuts and cheese wrap ups? Diet jello cups from Wal-Mart with a spritz
of cool-whip? Some of that protein ice cream they are coming out with?
Mixed nuts? Buying a meal at a restaurant and get a second to heat up
in the microwave? Ring bologna, a 2 oz. piece cut into small pieces and use
a toothpick to pick them up and eat them slowly.

Play games in your head to make it easier....you're on an African Safari,
and you are glad to at least have water, you're laying under a bush
waiting to see any of the animals come by.....it could be rabbits, squirrels,
cats or dogs, this is actually a vacation, so relax, relax, relax.....
This is a good time to write down some memories from the past that you
wanted to do for a long time.
Its a good time to write to a sick friend, send a card, call someone that is
also minding the heat.

You can make it, you can survive this, just remember, it won't be that long
until

and then

Let us know how you are doing.

Love and prayers,
.

So it's been in the mid-90s here and my fibromyalgia doesn't do too well with it. I feel tired and heavy and just really "off." Even without the fibro, it's too hot to cook or go outside to exercise. I'm not sure what to do. I feel gross and fat being this inactive, and even if I'm reaching for fruit and veggies, I feel like I'm gaining weight. I'm so lethargic! (I take my vitamins, drink plenty, rest plenty, and there's been no med changes.) Any suggestions?
