It is the fitness tracker in Apple Watch. There is no way to "fool" the tracker. You either workout at the appropriate intensity, and meet your goal - or you don't get credit the way that the algorithm is set up in other fitness / activity trackers.
As an example, on Wednesday night, I thought: "I am xxx calories short of my MOVE goal" Then I fell asleep. Then I wake up and I have only 40 minutes to achieve that goal. It was rough, I'll tell you! I only had one minute to spare before the midnight deadline. But this time, I made it. Other times I don't achieve it. And when you are trying to get a "perfect" day, a "perfect" week, a "perfect" month (and that is the challenge I haven't been able to achieve, a perfect month), I've started to recognize how many factors are part of that "success" -- the tracker has to be charged, I have to be aware of my own energy levels, I need to account for the unexpected in the day that might infringe on the time I've set aside to achieve the goal, I need to be willing to possibly infringe on the noise levels / being ridiculed / feeling tired - as above -- all of the positives of the above have to be in place in order to achieve this one goal that others will never be aware of unless I share with them. A goal that no one will see visibly on my person.
But I will tell you: what pursuing this goal has done for my appreciation of the details of sacrifice that people go through to achieve their goals -- that insight has been priceless. I have the upmost admiration for what people are choosing to ignore in order to get to those next steps. Certainly, it is not so much talent as it is unremitting persistence and hard work that make a difference.

I broke a streak that I had for exercise intensity. How did I respond? I'm restarting the streak, and I'm learning what contributed to the break in the streak. I also have much more appreciation for the work that it takes to get that burn, so I am more vigilant about what goes in my mouth. It has been six weeks since I have had more than 750 mL (3 cups) of fruit juice in a week. In fact, in the last 3 weeks I haven't had any fruit juice as a separate drink at all.

I have a particular challenge on that I haven't been able to achieve for at least 18 months -- I'll keep folks posted on the progress.

Using a step counting app, I am part of weekly and weekend challenges. It is a daily reminder to do a little more than the average.
