Yeah I love it. I wonder if Sage will like it too. She is a good one for the challenges too. Hope we can drum up some others too. The trans fats are a good one but to really track it you have to read every package and avoid all partially hydrogenated oils(those are trans fats) and they don't have to count them on the label unless they are more than .5 grams( I read that on this site!!)

You are so right we need a new challenge. So you want to keep a check on Saturated fats. SO how about 0 transfats and Saturated under 25 a day. How does that sound? If you think that is good than I will make a new challenge thread. Let me know.

Rene: did I miss a new challenge thread for! Perhaps saturated fat. Although I wish the site separated the sat from the non sat. I used to count just the sat fat and keep it below 25 g per day, and with excersize I lost 60 that way before I lost my son and got older(those two things seem to be making it somewhat harder this time!!) Go figure.

Fiber was good today but the soup i choose had to much sodium! I can't seem to get them both right on the same day!

Amen to that SAge, I can sure relate. It seems that often when the fiber goes up so does the sodium(right through the roof!!). I was wrong too, I do use the salt shaker on turkey giblets, I remembered because it is so close to turkey day and I raised turkey's this year. So Iwill have to try to curb my shaker habit on that day too. Wonder

Well I logged ahead for supper, cuz I work both jobs today and eat at Mcd's so I know I am having the asian chicken salad. So I know ti did great on fiber but blew the salt. I ate the other things so the salad doesn't add that much sodium. So taking it away wouldn't change the 3445 I got today. OOps. ANdrea

Day late I guess, I too made the fiber and sodium. I was a bit over half the sodium at 199o and the fiber was 26. So inspite of my worry it was okay!! Wonder

FINALLY!!! Both in range today. FIber is 31, sodium is 2116.

I am a salt fiend, too. I'll take a salty snack over dessert ANY and almost EVERY day. And I have to try hard to limit my shakes of the shaker.

I was reading an article here on SP recently, though that said that most of the sodium we consume comes not from what we shake ON food, but what is naturally occurring or put in there as the food is processed. The article went on to say to watch the labels of "diet" and "low fat" food closely. Manufactureres often add salt to make up for the taste they lose with less fat. Sad.

Wonder, there is also an article on here somewhere about lower sodium substitutions. If you haven't seen it already, perhaps it might help you decide what to have when you can't cook at home.

Wow do I fit in here!! When I can get the fiber in the sodium is up too. I don't ever use salt either, my problem is I am only home three nights a week to be able to control the meal and the salt. So whenever I reach for a food that doesn't kill the calories I am finding out it either has no fiber or copius amounts of salt!! Is the only solution to this dilema to eat homecooking?? If so Iam in trouble till I can go back to one job!! I love herb usage vs. salt but can only make that choice at home. It is not a country wide love I am afraid!! Wonder

Fiber was good but sodium was just a little over range. My biggest weakness is I LOVE salt. I don't know how to leave the shaker alone! I am getting better though for the most part.

Yesterday fiber was low, sodium was in range.

Today, fiber in range, sodium is high.

Sage: how you doing??? Hanging in with the double challenge?
I am doing good so far today with both the fiber and sodium, but need to find good healthy fiber options for supper at McD's. Not much choice between the two jobs today.

I am such a silly goose sometimes. I had added Fiber to track but didn't see where to view the tracking, just found it!! Best place to hide anything from me, Right out in the open like that Hah!! Well when I went over my calories the other day I got plenty of fiber!! Wonder

Well today I was sick so I didn't eat much at all. So I did great with sodium but don't think I made the fiber at all. There is a way to track it in the nutrition tracker right? Wonder

10/28 My sodium was still too high but better. My fiber was in the right range!!

10/29 My sodium is getting better much closer to range and my fiber is right on!!
