Accountability for exercise is so important in my recovery plan -
Day Date #Steps on fitbit ***notes of what doing and why + activities of daily living

Fri Dec 9 1036 steps carefully done in the snow - I so fear falling after my surgery a year ago to re-construct my back and spinal nerve canal and still have a lot of neuropathy so not sure of feet under me. Will only be going out with great care and SLOWLY - time to ramp up the indoor exercises.
Thu Dec 8 676
Wed Dec 7 625 steps
Tue Dec 6 850 steps *** apparent infection/cellulitis in R leg- resting and elevating
Mon Dec 5 1123 steps ***house cleaning and up and down satairs
Sun Dec4 1875 steps ***energetic walking up and down every aisle of groc store

One very special day I walked 5K and that is the only time I have gone over 10,000 that so many articles encourage us to do. I aim at 3-4000 daily but have really been sluffing off and only getting in average of 2000. I see my orthopedic surgeon this next week and will be scolded for not keeping up the pace after my horrendous surgery last Dec. I was told to walk - walk-walk and I just don't get it done. I am busy living and thankful for what I am able to do and will get back to the serious training with time. My emphasis has been learning more of an eating plan to reduce weight and also studying nutrition and protocols for helping the neuropathy that remains after the back re-construction. I want to give the nerves the best chance possible and they are still healing.

Hey,
Words of encouragement are most appreciated. I'm going for a 2 mile walk tomorrow. I did three workouts this week. Trying to get back into my routine. The hardest part of my day is the evening -- watching TV and wanting a snack, but I'm working on that. Have a good walk tomorrow too!

Tornado,

You're doing a WONDERFUL job! I remember when I wasn't even able to put one foot in front of the other. As I watched my baby steps grow, I celebrated with God, each little milestone. Now my milestones, were every 50 steps. You see I had to learn how to walk again 3 different times. and I don't take it for granted like I did before. You'll see some days that I don't even get 1,000 steps. I just do as God enables me, and when He enables, I don't want to STOP!!! You just keep doing what you're doing, and you'll be right there with me, in no time. In fact, the days that I got 1,00 or less or some other low number, you BEAT the stew out of me!!! We're in the same boat and we're rowing in the same direction, to the same ULTIMATE GOAL! A healthy lifestyle and a manageable and healthy weight.

Blessings!
