Oh, what a crazy month I have had!

As you can most likely tell, it was all I could do to hold onto my sanity and I didn't have as much luck with my health.
The past months have finally gotten to me and found me flat on my back.
Funny, but I feel it was just what I needed. emoticon

Did I do well on this challenge? No.
Did I show up? Yes.
Am I ready for November? You bet!

its been a interesting month and changes took place in plan.
i have missed two days of tacking went over my calorie range three but have learned not to beat my self up but dust off and move on .
have not reached my gym goal but I have gone to boot camp and did workouts at home and got out walking three times most days with Racey . House walking only works for me .

Have tweaked my weekly goals, as I have this spinal stenosis going on.

Increasing my water,
Decreasing sweets, a lot
Decreasing caffeine. Don;t do much much cutting by half.
Doing my Spinal Stenosis PT
Eating healthier and adding more anti-inflammatory foods.
Deep breathing too, Cathe and Fran. Yes, staying positive, calming down, etc.

Report for 10/11
still sparking along with my meal tracking found I need to work on cutting down on my salt . canned Tomato soup and grill cheese are high in salt .
and need to get frozen veggies cans ones are high in salt
also need to make real french fries and not frozen ones and roast them in the oven so we do learn from slip ups. i know my favorite cold cereal is sugary not a good choice either but one step at time.
Fitness minutes are going well between 60 and 120 minutes each day
getting my water in is going good need to work on add 1 or 2 glasses a day.

Week one review
I have approximately 85 more days to accomplish my yearly goals,
I made a comment to track meals for the rest if year . a hard one for me since I struggled with this for Years.
I did hit a rough spot on Sunday when I went to a church pot luck. I did track the best I could what went in my mouth.
I was lucky they put the desserts on a table away from the other food . So fruit was a good choice for dessert did have 2 pumpkin spice cookies.
Water for my beverage choice.
Visualized how my self tracking and not stressing when I can’t find it on the list of foods. I need to just pick one close to what ate.
Remembering to finish the day and forget it I cannot undo my choices. Learn from slips and move on.

Indy Girl a leader of another team I belong to shared this and it sure made me stop and think .

“Exercise snacking refers to “fun-sized” portions of exercise that fit into a day instead of what you may have traditionally thought of as exercise.”

I read an article about exercise snacking and it motivated the socks off of me! I’ve been preaching something is better than nothing and small bouts of exercise since the beginning of my journey. Nothing hit me like the term “exercise snacking.”
Snacks are things you may not notice adding calories in the moment but really hit with an impact. Exercise snacks do the same but wear you out, and they burn calories.
Reminded me of Chris challenge to just add 10 to our day .
Today got 30 mins of Exercising snacking

2nd week of October

I am upping my activity with Monday, Wed and Friday being cardio days,
Tuesday and Thursday strength training and Saturday a surprise workout to spice it up!

Making sure I am doing my stretches

I have added B Complex and Magnesium back into my daily regimen, as I know I am lacking in both.

There is plenty of healthy food in the house, so NO GROCERY SHOPPING!
I will be using what I have and like Cathe, will be creative with it.

Good sleep is a must and rest to calm down and rejuvenate.

Feeling good this week and the weather being cooler makes it all the better.

Holidays and lots of visitors have had a bad effect - including having to get up 3, 4 even 5 times in the night. I'm cutting right back on sugar this month and already seeing an improvement at night. Hope it will also translate into weight loss!

I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

I really really want to take some more pounds off, I have been stalled at 160 for 3 weeks
My own doing, I know. Not over eating but I am not doing a full work out,
Today I am putting in a DVD of easy work out stuff with small weights.
Be back later to say how it went. Feelings and energy level.

(5) post for October 5
made the grocery list first thing in the morning - shopped to the list, but as always, had an eye and ear out for "bargains"
found a new source of "not spending money" to "enjoy something different"
(4) post for October 4
Attended meeting at work that I knew was going to be stressful; prepared as much as I could
(3) post for October 3
Pro-active steps to be ready for end of year record keeping

Cleaned off the desktop computer home page - makes for clearer expanse to "make it messy"

Seems as thought there was confusion or lack of interest in my previous challenge, emoticon so.... do whatever you want and post here how you are taking steps to get healthier removing bad habits and replacing with healthy ones.

Easy enough?

Only have time to post an emoticon? Fine.

Want to post a photo of your meal, workout, spa day, etc? Fine

Feel like going into detail and writing several things you are doing each day? Fine.

Whatever you want for October! emoticon

Everyone has good ideas and we can all learn, become motivated and encouraged by each other.

Post each day and jump into Fall on the right foot. emoticon emoticon
