My potassium intake should be between 3500--4700mg. I usually don't even reach the low number yet I get at least 3 servings of freggies a day.

My Mom has had her high blood pressure pills doubled and it concerns me. When I found out that low potassium can be the cause I am now eating more foods high in potassium. Good thing I love bananas. emoticon

IRON I am over 50 so only need 8 mg/day.

April 8 55 I am over due to Hummus, Beans and Spinach.

April 9 47 The Tuna and Almonds put me over today.

April 10 112 Over due to Corn Chex Cereal, Spinach, and Hummus.

April 11 92 Over again due to Cheerios, Tuna, and Romaine Lettuce.

April 12 257 Cream Of Wheat 199 + Beans and Whole Wheat Spaghetti

April 13 74 Eggs, Spinach, and Beans were the culprits this time.

April 14 96 Oatmeal, Chili, Turkey, Bread and Beans put me over the top.

Okay team, we are tracking iron this week. I am afraid I gave you some misinformation in the spark mail. I looked up iron on the web and found a very interesting article. I will post the link if you are interested. I suggest you read it. You don't need 100-150mg of iron a day. I don't know where I got those numbers, but there are incorrect. For the month of March we tracked carbohydrates, protein, fats and sodium. From April 1-7 let's track cholesterol. We all know that there are two types of cholesterol. HDL the good kind, and LDL the bad cholesterol

Check with your Dr. about the amount of cholesterol you should be consuming each day. The general consensus is under 300mg a day. You will have to set your tracker to track this nutrient if you are not already tracking it. Go to your nutrition tracker and click on change nutrition goals. At the bottom of the page you will see add another nutrient to track, click on that and it will walk you through. Don't forget to save your changes, I always do.

We will track another nutrient the following week.
