PLATINUM755: Thank you much for your kind words! Love your signature quotes, so much truth in them! Yeah, please try those yumlicious coconut sandwiches! I really like them and can manage to stick to eating just one without it triggering me to grab a straw and start sucking lines of sugar! emoticon

BTW, peeked at your spark page! Lady, you've been working! Kudos to you!

Only 7 grams of sugar...that 's not bad at all for a treat. I'll have to check those out! Keep up the good work!

Lol! Believe me I understand all about slapping fat on my belly, thighs and every where else! Sometimes that happens by just smelling the stuff! :) Talking myself out of it is not always easy but I'm willing to do it in order to see change. I guess I'm ready to pay the price (for less weight & better health) now. Although today I really struggled when my children helped themselves to some Nilla wafers for snack. Mmm Nillas (in my Homer Simpson voice).

Ms. V, No, you didn't cheat. You got that right about the plateau....eating more fat is definitely not conducive to weight loss! Most especially fat combined with sugar, because most of that fat goes straight to storage. I tell myself: you may as well just slap the fat right on your belly because that's where it will be tomorrow. Sometimes saying it works are a deterrent! emoticon

Yes! Back on my feet again. No more exercising like the baby crawling for the goal line. Start walkin baby!

Slowly but surely, moving in a better direction!

Your coconut milk ice cream sandwich was a great choice! Look at all the other choices that are out there. Donuts, cold coffee drinks full of sugar and fats, fried chicken, candy.... Where do you find that coconut ice cream sandwich?

LOL! There's a place called Cluck-U for lunch?!!! I love it! LOL! The truth is that no one stays immune from bad food choices! It always catches up with you! Let me k ow what the response is when you place a bowl of tantalizing fruit in kitchen counter.

hey there....i would gladly do that...but it's probably going to have to be put on the kitchen counter as the setup in the office doesn't lend itself to that kind of situation. but it's still a good idea...and i will definitely do it. maybe these folks will get a clue. it's just really hard not having even one advocate on my side. they were just talking about going to cluck u chicken for lunch. dunkin donuts for breakfast and cluck u for lunch. i can just imagine what the insides of these folks looks like...sigh.

LOL, LOL! Well He made it, didn't He GSEATON!!! I believe He wanted us to enjoy it in moderation but you know how we are, we use it and everything else to replace Him! Well I do, anyway. What I'm saying is that one of the things that triggers my sugar use is stress! I will jump into a pool of sugar so that it can sedate me when I'm stressed. Outside of better eating choices I'm trying to replace sugar dependency with prayer. Not an easy task. emoticon

AMD012264: Congrats on staying away from the "Candy Girl", I think you should blog about this, if you haven't already done so. You should be proud of yourself for staying away. Most of us know what's good for us, but we also know and depend on what FEELS good to us while we handle stress at the workplace. I'm going to suggest that you counter your office "Candy Girl" in a very fun way by having pickable fruit on your desk. Place cherries, grapes, blueberries, clementines or apricots in a small bowl at your desk. A very mini-fruit-stand, if you will. That way you can promote your enthusiasm for wholesome food in a very loving and non-threatening way! You'll be surprised at how many people will stop by your desk and hopefully start their own fruit stand. People watch what you do, more than listen to what you have to say! Living what you believe can always be fun and teachable!

And I embrace your phrase "sugar monster"! LOL! I am doing much better than I was just 2 weeks ago. It truly is one day and moment at a time. I love it when people encourage me, so thank you! I'm trying to be better at encouraging myself as well. God's still working on me, thankful He's so very patient. emoticon

I love your word "temperence", it's so good! No guilt on the coconut milk sandwich thingy! Sounds like you are doing Much better than you were at being mindful of your sugar monster! One day at a time..........as I sit here with my tall, nonfat vanilla latte. It has sugar, but it's my only sugar of the day and I have cut way, waaaaaaay back on the stuff, so baby steps! Good job! Carry on! emoticon

whew...do i know that. i work in an office of 7 people. and of course the littlest person has a desk full of every candy you can think of. she bakes cakes and muffins and brings them in. since i started jackie warner's program i've been successful at staying away from her desk..and i'm very proud of myself for that. nobody in this place cares about how they feel, what they eat or how they look...because let's face it...when we're skinny (no matter what that means to us) we feel we look better and that gives us confidence. i wish i had at least one person here who shares my views on health, fitness and nutrition. they all went to dunkin donuts for brekkie this morning...ugh.

Kicking my sugar habit is not an attempt to lose weight for me. :) I'm trying to develop temperance in all that I do. I'm also trying to find out what works for me as I'm keenly and painfully aware that I love sugar and wish to learn how to control it, instead of it controlling me! Finding desserts that are healthy alternatives are a part of this journey. So far I'm excited about the trip! emoticon

LOL, this is a life change as in forever so don't treat what you doing as just a goal to lose weight. In life there will be those Oops moments and curves on the road but that what make the journey so interesting. What is important though is eating in moderation, understanding why you did it and picking yourself up and continue with the journey. emoticon

Right now I can't even look at candies and cakes, big trigger foods for me! I'm even avoiding juice unless I make it. I don't feel bad about my coconut milk sandwich bar either but I always attempt to be honest. Cheers!

No, 37 grams is just the size of the bar (half an ice cream sandwich). The bar is 100 calories, contains 3.5 grams of fat, 3 fibers, 1 protein and 7 grams of sugar. :)

Ok so on Sunday I treated myself to a non-dairy coconut milk frozen sandwich (37 g). It's agave sweetened. Truth is I really felt like eating Coldstone because I haven't had it since last summer. However I'm afraid to eat it because of the ridiculous amount of fat in it and I'm trying to get off a plateau.

I have to say that eating it did not trigger more cravings for sugar. I haven't had any other dessert since. So did I cheat?
