Frustratingly up again. But I have been eating an average of 1700 calories a day for the past month, so not surprising. I'm focused on eating mindfully and sitting with cravings as they arise rather than responding and giving in.

Just over half a pound down, hurray! As long as I am moving in the right direction, I'm happy. I widened my calorie range this week. I got tired of beating myself up. My basic goals are still the same, stay at the lower end of my calorie range of 1250-1550 most days, and engage in not-obsessive moderate exercise most days. I think that is reasonable and we'll see if it continues to lead to success.

-go on with the healthy lifestyle learned in weight loss phase
-just add healthy foods gradually to stop losing
-work out every day - 30-60 minutes is enough to maintain weight and good mood
-do not try to balance overeating by extreme workouts, it is not going to work

Kristin and Olia, congrats to your weight loss!
Way to go!

Olia, that's a good point about starting a new graph,
looks like your weight fluctuates a lot, going up and down instead of neat straight line, so it is possible that after the big loss this week, there will be no loss or even a little gain next week. Trends take time to really show. New graph or not, what you are doing is clearly working! : )

I've lost 3.2 pounds this week for a total of 16 pounds lost in one month. I started my journey on February 22. So happy to be here and changing my life. Today I clipped my own toenails something I hadn't been able to do for a long time.

Well done is better than well said.

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted, hasn't it? And what a surprise, I gained 2.6 pounds! Kidding! Not a surprise at all... if I were losing, I'd be posting. I have only minimal work travel over the coming month, so it will be easier to stick to my plan. Oh and I am shifting to posting on Friday instead of Monday and committing to posting weekly no matter the result!

Congrats to your success, Kristin!
It is great you have a nice net weight loss, despite all the challenges you have faced.

In the Beck pink book reading the official weigh in days will be Fridays, so I'm posting my Day 1, 8, 15 etc. weigh ins here. I don't have a weight loss goal because I'm in maintenance and happy with where I am. Goal range: 58 +-1 kg.

Up a pound this week, not surprising given the givens. It was a challenging week, with work stress, drinks one evening with a new friend. I'm determined do better over the coming week. It's an average of almost a pound a week so I'll give myself big credit for that.

Back on track and it shows on the scale. It feels good! I stuck with my plan or within my calorie goal for 5 of the last 6 days and am on track to do well today too. The coming week will be a little more challenging, with a happy hour and possibly dinner with my son and his fiance, but I am prepared.

Kriszta, kudos on your maintenance, you are always an inspiration to me!

I'm up .2 pounds, which is not a surprise given that I haven't been very consistent this week with food. I am determined to do better this week, which should be easier, given no happy hours or dinners out. I also intend to plan our dinners a lot better this week. I know what to do, and if I put those plans and guardrails in place, I can do this.

Sounds like good progress, -4.2 pounds in 3 weeks is great,
and yes eating out means extra salt, and some water retention.

My weight seems to have stabilized on the lower end of my maintenance range, and I'm happy it,
copy from International Polar Bear Maintenance challenge post (these challenges are about staying within goal, and I'm safely in).

It is only a number. It doesn't mean that I cannot successfully lose weight, it gives me information about what may or may not be working. Yesterday I weighed 164.2. Perhaps the fact that I ate out twice yesterday meant I had more salt in my my system and I'm retaining water. Maybe I need to exercise more. It is data.

I reorganized. I'm starting with my top weight, and putting the most recent weight on top. A good week! I know every week won't be like this but for now, I am celebrating!

A pound and a half down, I am moving in the right direction. That makes me happy. I wasn't able to maintain the 5 pounds I lost before the holidays. but I'd be a lot more unhappy if I had gained 5 more pounds.

Clearly going in the wrong direction. My weight was 3 pounds less earlier in the week but today is the day I committed to posting. Accountability didn't provide an incentive this week.

Looks like I gained 2 and a half pounds back over the holidays. Oh well, I'm not going to do anything different than if I hadn't. I'll keep on planning and tracking, reminding myself why I'm doing this. Onward and downward!

Posting late because I didn't get to it on Sunday. This is Saturday's weight, as I forgot to jump on the scale Sunday and Monday (conveniently!). It us up since then... thank you, delicious Christmas feasting! But I am back on track and maybe if I am very good it will be back down Sunday which is my regular posting day. That should motivate me!

Rachel, it's great you have been back on track for 3 days, good for you!

Christmas eating goes well for me, so far so good.
I expect weight will blip up anyway, first because of salt and sugar, second because my plan contains more calories than normally.

I had hoped that I could lose some more this week, but I was not realistic. Last week's weight was due to having been sick and almost unable to keep anything down. Afterwards i had an appetite and ate too much. I have been back on track, tracking my food for the last 3 days only. And what helped me stay on track was the perspective of having to post my weight today! Of course this is not enough of a skill and I have to develop some more skills, but meanwhile, I take what helps.
O well

Kristin,
Traveling + eating out= water retention.
With your great cal average this week, those pounds will leave you pretty quickly.
And mega congrats for staying at 1500 during such a time!

Posting late, since I was travelling yesterday. Ugh! 2 pounds up! Hopefully it's water weight from eating out for the past 4 days. I ate more than intended while travelling but it averaged to around 1500 calories/day for last week, since the first part of the week I followed my plan.

And Day 22 off sugar.

My weight looks like it dropped too much but that is just because the previous weeks were up because of salt. I weigh every day and I have a clear picture of my range. I have been going lower steadily through this group reading. Thanks Team!

Not the slight downward trend I hoped to see, it is basically sideways.
I wait and see if weight goes down to around 58 kg,
if not I'll cut my calorie intake slightly: decrease my grains/legumes portion from 220 grams to 200 grams. That should be sufficient. Maintenance is fine tuning, slight changes of +-100 calories can turn the trend.

15/10/2018 187 I am so relieved!!!!! the weight jumped down just yesterday will have to work hard on the no binge chapter….it will make for an easier ride.

22/10/2018 187 I stayed the same. Looked at the numbers: average calories 30 cal. over the top of my range. Average exercise :30 min. a day. This coming week I will work on staying within my caloric range and increase my exercise time, and hope that this will make a difference. If not, I will have to lower my calorie intake.(at least regular tracking is enabling me to analyze the situation. Credit!!!)

29/10/2018 188.8 back to Square One. Did expect a small gain, but not that much. It is what it is.

My official weigh-ins will be every Monday
8Oct2018: 58.5 kg
15Oct2018: 57.8 kg
22Oct2018: 60.1 kg (travel bloat)
29Oct2018: 58.3 kg

This is my weight graph in the past 6 months - so much fluctuations while the overall trend is flat, the extreme high-s are related to travel, eating salty food, or just hormonal changes.
Just as my flat trend is visible only looking at several weeks, so too, weight loss trend may be visible after some time, too!

Very interesting, because on two days I ate normal portions,
and the other 2 days we did long hikes (3 and 6 hours) on the hills and skipped lunch, so surely didn't eat more than normal... but meals were very salty. We shall see next Monday, but I expect to be back to center weight.

My weight was all over the place last week. It varied by a range 4 pounds up and down. I am eating according to plan and I don't think this is a problem.

Day 8 off sugar. Now for me that is a very big deal

My starting weight is 58.5 kg, almost the center of my maintenance range.

Kriszta

Goal weight:
58 +- 1 kg /// 128 +-2 pounds
CET (Europe, Hungary)

Maintenance Lessons Learned:
-go on with the healthy lifestyle learned in weight loss phase
-just add healthy foods gradually to stop losing
-work out every day - 30-60 minutes is enough to maintain weight and good mood
-do not try to balance overeating by extreme workouts, it is not going to work
-avoid overeating, instead of satisfaction you get stronger cravings

I'm doing the October Beck Pink reading with the team and Seriouslim suggested posting weight to improve accountability. I'm starting to post here for the duration of the reading.
