Picasa does Nikon raw files and is free. GIMP does as well, but gets more learning curve intense.

I bought a Nikon 3200 less than a year ago and I can't figure out the "Raw" thing. What I'm getting stuck on is the download of the software and then how to use it. I thought I should have received something with the camera, but didn't. I found a free download on the internet - from the Nikon site - but am stuck on what do I do after I've downloaded it.

What I'm asking is - how do you convert the raw picture to a usable jpg file?

Thanks in advance!

I believe in myself, I am a strong woman. I will reach my goals, I will live my life with integrity and intention. I will set a good example for my daughters and my son. I will be a woman that makes my grand children proud when they look at pictures of me long after I've left this earth.
