This kind of defeats the total small package concept, but it's still way smaller than the DSLR with monopod or steady grip and would help a lot with grip problems.

They also have the long monopod attachment for another $20 or so:

Yup. Officially 100% in love with this camera. With one problem which is not with the camera but my hand. In that my hand is not strong enough to hold the camera up very long. Damn my young but arthritic wrists! I can't imagine holding a full DSLR with my bad wrists.... should get a monopod.... ANYWAY!

Compared ot my last camera the quality is amazing. Like, I am totally blown away. I knew it would be better but this? This is so much more crisp and vibrant! I am still getting used to it, because there is definitely a difference between a point-and-shoot and a MILC, and it's a new brand for me as well so things are super different menu set up wise.

AND it's a touch screen which I didn't realize, but don't mind since it lets me tap what I want to focus on for each picture.

I realllly need to get a camera bag now, I was able to get away with not having one before since I only had one camera unit. Not a base and two lenses.

So here is my flickr page:

The pictures with watermarks are out of my new camera, as is the puddle reflection picture I just forgot to watermark that one.

But yeah. I love it.

I grabbed a Nikon 1 v1 at fire sale prices the Christmas before last when B&H was clearing inventory for the new version. I couldn't be happier. I recently got the adapter which allows me to use my DSLR lenses with it at a magnification factor of 2.7, so now my 70-300 becomes a super tele. I haven't used my DSLR's much since getting it. An added bonus is that my D7000 DSLR and the N1 mirrorless both use the same battery. Hope you enjoy yours as well. There is a four thirds forum at dpreview.com to give you a starting point.

I ordered an Olympus PEN E-PL7 that came with a 14-42mm lens and a 40-150mm lens. It hasn't arrived yet, but definitely will arrive today based on tracking (it just hit the UPS location in the next town over). When it arrives I will probably skim the manual then go for a walk to try it out. Unless it's raining. Not taking my new baby out in the rain, nope.

As for the king of photography I prefer, I guess it would be nature/scenery and animals. I don't really have many people who will let me take pictures of them otherwise I would love to get into portraits and have people do modeling for the stuff my mom crochets for me to list online since she wants to sell things.

I am getting this camera as an upgrade from my point and shoot, and I have minimal experience with DSLR style cameras so this ought to be an adventure. xD

Cool! I've always wanted one but couldn't justify the expense after sinking so much cash into my DSLR and lenses.

What model did you order? What kind of photography do you prefer?

Please let us know goes!

I ordered an MILC camera that ought to arrive tomorrow, maybe the day after, and I was wondering if anyone has used these sorts of cameras before and have any opinions on the ease of use and quality of the cameras.

I guess I will find out in the next two days, but I am curious what other people think about them.
