You're welcome. Any time you wish to return to GIMP and need to ask, please feel free.

I found out I can use a program with Flicker. It's very easy to use, so I will go with that. Thanks for your help though Thomas!

I don't have tabs on the left. I do have a row of tools. Are those there? Hopefully you didn't close that side before creating single window. Make certain that you didn't "push" that side out of the way. If your workspace comes clear the left, try pulling it towards the center from the edge. I'm a bit at a loss. I've never had that happen.

I've been playing. When you made a single window mode, did you by any chance hit the option just above that that says "hide docks?" If you did, just click it again and your docs will magically reappear.

If you find your panel with the tools on it, look for a knife. That is your crop tool. There is a box that you can check to keep the length and width proportionate (left side). Also, there are spaces that you can use to alter between landscape and portrait. Just open (file > open) a duplicated practice shot and play with the tools, especially crop.

By the way, almost everything can be done in more than one way. I tend to use the tool icon on the left to crop. But you can also drop the "Image tab" and find a crop tool there. Notice that it will have a small icon next to it that matches the tool icon. Cool, huh? :)

Not sure what I did wrong. I have a single window, but the tabs on the left are gone. Plus I don't see a crop feature. That is essential for me.

When you first open it, it has multiple floating windows. You are all set if you like that arrangement. Personally, I find a single screen easier to work with. To make it like that, go to the windows tab and single-window mode. See if that looks better to you. There are tabs at top and tools on the left. There is more info on the right.

To get started, use the file > open tab. (When you finish an edit, you won't be saving; rather, you will be exporting using the export as or the overwrite buttons).

Let me know if you get this far and then I'll continue. This is basic stuff but absolutely essential.

HICKOK-HALEY, if you do try GIMP, I'd be happy to give you a couple of starting pointers and a simple workflow if you would like that. You will want to branch out, but it would be a good start.

I use GIMP too. As Tom said, it took a while to get the hang of because I hadn't used photoshop previously, but I like it and find it easy to use now.

I do use Photoshop, I tried a few other ones but I like certain things it offers. I did purchase the online version as my older version was lacking a few tools I like to use. With that said, there is a lot of things I do not use.

I may try GIMP. Thanks for sharing.

I haven't either. I used to use photoshop, but it has gotten quite expensive and tends to demand that you rent it rather than buy it. I've switched to GIMP. This is an absolutely free download and very much like photoshop. I haven't yet found anything that I could do with photoshop that I can't do with GIMP. I love the program. If you haven't used photoshop, then you have a bit of a learning curve, but well worth it. If you have used photoshop, then you still have a learning curve, but for the most part it mimics photoshop. Some of the tool names have slightly different names and that sort of thing. But over all, it is a free photoshop and of very high quality.

Find it here: www.gimp.org/

Has anyone used Picmoney for photo editing? If not what do you use? I need a new program.
