Well, the thumb drive is pretty cheap and would at least allow you get the pics off the camera. If you have any youngsters in your life, ask them about it. Teens and twenty-somethings know their stuff and are often glad to help. Check with computer and camera clubs and church groups as well. Good luck with it. I hope it works itself out.

I'd love to get a new computer, but I have been on Disability and now just plain Social Security for several years and there is no way to afford one. That would take almost a full month income. Thanks for the information, though.

Well, here's a pretty cheap solution:

..... and here's a more expensive one:

Then of course, you could go new and pick up a nice midrange desktop or laptop for $700 and up.

My reasoning is this... you have problems you can't fix yourself and by the time you pay somebody to come in and fix them, you'll have too much invested for it to make sense. If your hard drive is only 4 gig, then it's a pretty old machine and has served you well. The thumb drive solution will give you a place to put your pics for now, but you should also be backing them up (or at least the ones you want to keep) and while that will work, you could end up with a bunch of little thumb drives laying around. If you get a different computer, you get a nice empty hard drive, more RAM, faster processor, etc. Plus... by moving everything over to the new one, you'll figure out where everything is.

Anyway, the thumb drive should fix the current problem and at least kick the can down the road.

Dave, I stopped the download when it said it was downloading ALL the pictures. It didn't even come up with the thumbnails like it used to. I had loaded them that way before, but it wouldn't let me this time and I can't understand why. Guess I will try again with some other way to start it. I don't think there is enough room on the computer to load them all.

If they're loading to Google, they're probably not on your computer, but rather the cloud. I've never used Google for pics as I use Flickr, but I imagine it's similar. Are you sure when you load them from the SD card that they are all actually loading and not just showing you thumbnails with an unchecked checkbox under them? The other alternative is just load them all and then delete the ones you don't want if they duplicate?

Where do you find the photos if they load to google on the computer? It says something about photos and google, but I don't understand where it is going. I have apps on the phone, but I can't add anymore. I can't take most of them off that I don't use because they are put on by the company. Have a few others that I use all the time.

Wish I could help, but I have an iPhone and a Mac so it is so different. I hop others will come on and give more support.

I'm sorry. I do not know. Are you able to get any apps or internet on your phone?
My old phone was just a flip phone and I could not use the photos on my computer.
The phone I have now does let me load apps and I have Google on it. So the pictures are loaded onto Google photo albums onto the phone and the computer.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.

I took some pictures with my phone and I'm having problems downloading them to my computer. I was hoping someone could help me.

I don't have a fancy phone like IPhone or Samsung. So to transfer the pictures I have to take the memory card out and insert it in the computer with an adapter. It downloads into Windows Photo Gallery and I haven't really had problems until this time. I have Windows 7. When I chose ONE photo I wanted to download and edit, it kept coming up that it was downloading ALL the photos on the card. I already have most of them downloaded. I couldn't get it to download just the one picture. When I closed the "download all photos" it wouldn't download any photos.

Can anyone help me with what I am doing wrong?
