I just finished reading Naked in Death and loved it! It's funny since it was written in 1995 and has futuristic elements that became reality in 2016. So let's see what happens next year.

I know this is an old topic but I scanned through the list because I figured there had to be one on JD Robb *somewhere.*

(and I have a picture of me and La Nora. I know y'all are jealous.)

I LO-O-O-VE J. D. Robb. not a big fan of Nora Roberts - not into so much romance. I like the murder mystery parts better. It was a surprise reading the first book - all the futuristic stuff and flying cars. but now that we are inching closer to 2059, it doesn't seem that far-fetched!

I'm at an early stage, read the first three. I love the characters and the writing. I'm more of a crime fan than a romance fan but I love the Dallas/Roarke sizzle as part of the overall story. I can't imagine I'd enjoy the Nora Roberts stuff as more than an occasional read. Put it this way, I have way too many books I can't wait to read. I have the fourth 'Death' book standing by. And I too can only read these things chronologically, even though sometimes the first book is not the best example of the character or author.

My problem is character sequence. If the narrator is talking about a character like I should know who he/she is, I want to know who the character is and why is he's there. J. D. Robb has a lot a recurring characters. Even though they don't often appear, they add much to the story and often help to round out a main character. That's the reason I read this series in order.

I read both... Have only gotten the anthologies or cross overs for the J.D. Robb side so far as Mom wants me to read them in order and still waiting one some to come back from the Aunts.

For those who have not read J.D. Robb or not familiar with this dark character, here is Nora Roberts site, she has a seperate section for Robb, www.noraroberts.com/ I love Eve, the lead character an in the J.D. Robb books. Eve Dallas is complicated and detached when the series starts, later she stays complicated but no longer detached. Her hunky, rich (king of the world rich) and really, really bad boy sweetie, soon to be husband changes that, but she changes him too. That is the reason I love this series, with all of the danger, bad stuff and living in the future-these books are really love stories and that's what sucks me in everytime. emoticon Robbs books have changed much since the inception of Eve and Rourk.

SCHNEBL, I know what you mean, several years ago I had a conversation with several people online, at that time we thought perhaps she was going to retire from writing. However, she bounced back with a winner and she was once more our same prolific Nora. I keep hoping that happen again. I find myself rereading the old stuff. If you do decide to read JD Robb, start with the first "In Death..."

LAKENDAL, I enjoy Roberts anthology books, I must confess, my favorite reads are the older ones, like the "Born In" series. The characters seem to come alive.

I love Roberts too, but have been GREATLY disappointed in her last couple of books. She has someone else writing for her and it seems that all they are doing is grabbing bits and pieces of her previous stories and mixing them together, sometimes using the exact same sentences. I have given up buying her books, and quite frankly after the last disaster of a book I have probably stopped reading them too. I am going to start reading her JD Robb books.

Keep fighting the good fight!

I like Robb and have read several of her "in death" books. As Roberts it's hit or miss.

I would enjoy talking to J. D. Robb or Nora Roberts readers. I like Nora Roberts, but love when she takes on her J. D. Robb persona.
