I was able to meet new friends every day of the week last week, so I did pretty well. I at least met my goal. My goal for this week is to get at least one spring cleaning chore done a day. Monday is windows. So far so good. Tuesday is laundering window curtains. Wednesday is deep cleaning the living room. Thursday is cleaning out cupboards. Friday is going through clothing and donating what is no longer of use to myself or the baby. Saturday is shampooing the rugs. Sunday is clearing out the bathroom cabinets. We'll see how I do. emoticon

A new week is upon us! How did you do last week? What is your goal for this week?

I did alright...I did manage to reach my goal of cooking 3 meals for the week and I didn't burn the house down! My bf was pleasantly surprised. :)

My non-fitness goal for this week is to read at least one SP article each day. Hopefully this will be easy.

Great ideas everyone!

I didn't do so hot last week with my "me time" goal.

My goal for this week is to make dinner at least 3 nights this week. This might sound simple but I dont cook...at all. The motivation for this is to not only eat healthier but my boyfriend is working crazy overtime. He usually makes dinner when he gets home from work but I'd like to make his life a little easier. I don't work and don't have many obligations so I should be able to pull this off. emoticon

I said I would join this goal thread only to fall short. Ooopsie. How is everyone?

Deb~ I think that is a wonderful goal you have made.

My goal for this week is to do my daily devotions each day. I feel so much better when I do them and yet it's been so long since I took the time to read. I also would like to take 2 or 3 days this week and tackle the piles of mail on my dining table. You can't even see it. I already have been working on it some. I need to sort it, shred what needs to be in trash and than do what ever else needs doing with left over mail like file it, pay bill...ect.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week! emoticon

I'm doing okay. I just wish that I did not have so many negative thoughts, but the journal is doing what it is supposed to do. I am more aware of my unrealistic negative thoughts. I am able to correct the "bad" thinking and replace the thoughts with a better view point. Does that make sense? CBT takes conscious effort. I am putting in the work though. I am disappointed that I missed my counseling appointment yesterday because of car trouble. emoticon Deb

My goal for this week is to keep my negative and unrealistic thoughts at bay by examining their validity and where they come from. I will record them in a negative thoughts journal during the week every time that an aberrant thought pattern comes to mind.

Great job guys!

What is your goal for this week? Do you have a plan to help you accomplish it?

My goal is to get at least 20 minutes of "me time" in every day. This means no screens (computer, tv, or phone)! I hope to spend this time reading.

My journaling is going well. I've been able to make an entry every day. Some aren't all that long but it surprises me how much I store in my head. I sit down to write and next thing I know I have 2 full pages! It's nice to get down on paper and out of my head!

TODAY IS THE DAY!! What is your non-fitness goal this week? Do you have plan in place to help you accomplish it?

My non-fitness goal for this week is to journal every day. I think the best time for me to journal is going to be first thing when I get home for the day. This is going to be critical for me, especially this week, because I am cycling up towards mania (if I'm not already there). Hopefully this will also give me some insight to my triggers and warning signs.

What is your goal?

Good Luck!!

I am just getting back to Spark from a long absence and this may be just what I need to keep my head screwed on right and to help me stay in the moment and not balk down with self pity. I'm trying to recover from a really bad manic/depressive episode and this may help. I would like to include meditation as one of my goals in addition to utilizing some of the goals already mentioned. Just be a bit patient with me, since I am working the bugs out of my head. Can anyone recommend a good pesticide? Just kidding, maybe some of the bugs are beneficial. At any rate I'm willing to give it a try. Count me in too. Take care and God bless, Deb

Samantha & Cynthia!!! I am SO glad you want to be involved. Kate has some great ideas. I'd love to see where this takes us. Checking in all week long is best for me because I NEED accountability! I think doing a recap, our success & how we felt at the end of the week would be great too!

Ok so I have been absent but I LOVE this idea. I think starting with our own goals and then working on it from there sounds great. It might be fun to have the category each week and then we can pick an individual goal for ourselves that fits into that group.
I am excited to start on Monday but I'm going to have to give it a little thought before then because I don't know what I want my goal to be.

Samantha :)

I haven't checked in in a while so I missed seeing this thread. I like both ideas: the sharing our individual goals and having a united goal. I guess we could just do as said share ours and go from there. I like the idea of reflecting at the end of the week. I'm thinking sometimes I need help through the week, so perhaps if others feel that way too we could chat in the thread sharing our goals, our struggles, successes, and whatever else. In another team my goal for March is blog each week. So far I think I have only blogged once. I think journaling is a good idea, It too is one of my weekly goals for my eating-journaling what I ate, feelings, was I actually hungry or was there self sabotage involved...ect, I have the journal and yet to write a word. So Monday is a good start. What a GREAT thread this is!!! Hope more will join as we go along.

Sounds great. I agree that not everyone has the time to accomplish some goals so I think maybe it's best if we each set our own goals. We all know what our own limits are and what we are best capable of as well as the areas in our lives that need the most work.

My first goal is going to be to write at least 1 journal entry each day. It shouldn't take long but I am feeling extremely unstable at this point so I think it will be an important thing to get done.

Sharing them here for now seems like the best idea since we don't know if folks are going to get involved yet. (it's hard to feel like it's a team project) My first goal is to clean a room in my house each day so I don't know that others will be able to take something that big on. I'm a minmalist & relatively clutter free so mines more about the cobwebs than de-cluttering.

The other way we could do it is to each set our own goals for the week and just share them on here. It would give others ideas for future goals as well. Then at the end of the week we can share our reflections either on here or somewhere else. What do you think would work best? I wish we had more feedback from others too.

And if I seem ambitious it's probably because I'm feeling a bit manic at the moment. Not sure if it's all the sunshine or what but I'm kind of enjoying it. I'm just hoping it doesn't last too long and get out of control. emoticon

Here's another idea...
Maybe we can set a certain category for the goals for each week of the month
Ex: Week 1 (of each month) could be community related goals. Week 2 organizational goals. Week 3 maybe dealing with encouragement either for yourself or others. And maybe week 4 could be a personal, individual goal.
I'm thinking this might make it easier to choose our goal each week. What do you think? Any other categories you might want to include? Do you have other ideas?

Hey listen...Do you want a mutual goal and/or our own? I'm wondering about the mutual goal being a problem because some (like me) of us have more time than others. My first goal may be too big for others. What'd think?

Our Lovely K8YBUG9 (Kate) suggested this. I think it's a great idea. On Spark, we tend to think of goals with weight loss or maintenance, but we all know that keeping ourselves fit & healthy has to be about the whole mind/body!

I would like to see ideas for weekly non-fitness goals here. On another thread maybe we can share what we've done? Or maybe we can have a mutual weekly goal? Nothing that we all can't do, but something that will give us a common goal to strive for.

Ideas? What do you all want to see? I'm dedicated to getting back involved here & Kate gave me the perfect opening! Let's Go Kids! We have a life to live!!!
