We can pray for a word from God concerning our health. When He provides us with direction we can be assured that if we obey in faith, it shall come to pass!

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper and be in health, just as your soul [mind, will and emotions] prospers" (3 John 1:2 NKJV).

God's word instructs us to give attention to His rhema words..."keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh" (Proverbs 4:21-22).

To restore the temple of God, our bodies, we would do well to seek His rhema words.

"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation taking the form of a servant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross" (Philippians 2:5-8).

We must become obedient to the point of death, if necessary.

Renewing our mind to the word of God is the first step to restoring the temple of God. When our thoughts are of the cares of this world, stress sneaks its destructive ways into our body, the temple of God. Rejoice, God has a plan for your day and everything in it is working together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

According to M. Webster's Dictionary, restore also means to reinstate. When I looked at "reinstate" it means "to restore to a previous effective state."

If we are to restore, or reinstate God's temple, we are to return it to its previous effective state. It is time to question the effectiveness of our prayer life. God's temple, our body, is to be a house of prayer.

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper and be in health, just as your soul [mind, will and emotions] prospers" (3 John 1:2 NKJV).

It is difficult getting a full 8 hours of sleep... since childhood, four hours seemed to work perfectly.

If we look at buildings that are in use 24/7 we realize that they take constant maintenance. The same is true of the temple of God, our bodies.

Working on getting a full 8 hrs. sleep. There is an important reason why God sets aside a day of rest. When we keep going 24/7 we run down and become more susceptible to the enemy's testing of our faith.

John 3:6, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."

Being born again means that we have not only been born in the flesh, but that we have been born of God's Spirit.

Just this past week while talking with a young man I used the term "born again" and he immediately asked me what that was about. His brother attends church and has been baptized, so I assumed he had been as well. We cannot assume anything. We are not living in a God honoring society any longer.

When you look at nature, you see how God has designed it to restore itself. I cannot help but think that He has created us much the same way.

If we focus on His word, consume God created foods, and keep our body moving, we should see our bodies return to their natural state.

Restoring the temple of God includes taking care of our body.
In talking with other people this week, I have been shocked at the caliber of illnesses people are suffering. It has become just as important to learn about medications and their side-effects as it is to know what types of fat, salt, sugars etc are in the foods we consume.

We restore our soul (mind, will and emotions) by the things we allow into our lives on a daily basis. If we meditate on the evil and what is wrong...the negative things of this world will consume us.

If we demand that our will be done and not God's will, then He will leave us to the consequences. If we allow our emotions to change with ever wind, we will quickly become unstable in all our ways.

If we decide to have the mind of Christ, all of our thoughts will be godly. If we choose God's will for our life, everything will work together for our good. If we view life from God's perspective, our emotions will not rule us.

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper and be in health, just as your soul [mind, will and emotions] prospers" (3 John 1:2 NKJV).

Most of us have heard the old saying, "Garbage in, garbage out." Everywhere we turn to hear the news, we hear about evil thoughts expressed. It is time to fill our mind, will and emotions with the beauty of God's Kingdom.

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper and be in health, just as your soul [mind, will and emotions] prospers" (3 John 1:2 NKJV).

It is God's will that we, as His temple, are well cared for daily. Whatever we neglect in caring for our bodies, is neglect in caring for God's temple... We must establish our priorities.
God
Spouse
Children
Church (believers)
World (unbelievers)

We cannot be everything for everybody... we must take care of God's temple!

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper and be in health, just as your soul [mind, will and emotions] prospers" (3 John 1:2 NKJV).

It is in the little changes we make, and continue to make, that make the greatest restoration changes in our life. Breaking down the components of a restoration project until it can be faithfully carried out are more important than making a big change that we forget about the first time a problem arises. God's word does not change.

What area of God's temple needs our attention today. The best residences are cared for daily. One day of neglect can make a world of difference.

Look around... God is opening doors for neighbors to have the opportunity to get to know one another. Is there a project in your neighborhood where you could invite others to help you transform it into something more useful? We are the temple of God, when we let His light shine from us, others will have the opportunity to see Him!

Restoring the temple of God can be something like scrubbing the floor on our knees. It is not that it cannot be done other ways, it is just that when we humble ourselves, we are able to see more clearly what needs to be cleaned up in our lives.

Freely getting things out of our life which do not draw us closer to God removes a ton of baggage. We must only allow things that please God into our lives.

Some people consider restoration of their home as being the decorative outward appearances, yet, in God's temple, which we are, it is what is on the inside that matters most!
Lord, let our focus be on restoring the quality of our inner man today. Let us not forget that You reside in us, and You are deserving of our absolutely best!

Today, is the best day to make changes in our lives that will enhance the temple of God, of which we are in this world. When was the last time others remarked that they felt God's presence in your midst? When was the last time you felt God's presence in your midst?

If our bodies are the temple of God, and they are... and His temple is to be called the house of prayer, and it is... then when the devil attempts to damage our bodies... we pray and resist, and he has to flee (James 4:7).

With summer here, we are leaving our front door open and are going in and out of the house all day long on the weekends because we have prepared our front porch with "cabana curtains," chairs, little table, flowers, pillows, etc. this year. If our neighbors were to walk up they would feel welcome just by being on the sun porch, let alone by being invited into our home.

If Jesus were to walk up today would He feel welcome to sit down and visit with us or would He feel like He should have made an appointment first? We are His home!

If Jesus were to knock on the door of your heart today, would you immediately open the door to Him or would you ask Him to wait outside until you had time to get into His word, memorize a few choice verses, and do a few volunteer works?

Jesus is returning for a bride who loves Him, and Him alone. We are to get ourselves ready before He comes. After He comes it will be too late. We are the temple of God and we are to be a house of prayer.

Each one of us must ask ourselves what is our foundation made of...
The most beautiful home in the world will soon become useless before its time if the foundation was not properly constructed in the first place.

It is time to open the windows of our heart so that God can fill us with His joy. Jesus endured the cross at Calvary because of the joy that was set before Him. No matter what comes against us, our nation, our world, we too can endure because of the joy that God has set before us...eternal life with Him!

Restoring the temple of God is a choice, just as making necessary changes are in our physical earthly homes. We can make excuses on a daily basis, but it will continue to crumble if we do not make the needed changes in a timely manner.

We must ask ourselves if we need a "demo day" or just a bit of sanding on the surface. Our bodies are the temple of God and it is our responsibility to provide the proper maintenance that His temple requires.

Sometimes the neglect is so widespread that we must first get the things out of our lives that keep us from functioning properly as His house of prayer, while other times we only need a bit of refreshing to get His house in order.

God's dwelling place should be in perfect condition... something to think about when the enemy tempts us to trash the temple of God.

Look at the way the enemy has tempted people to trash everything good that God created... we must not allow the devil to do that to God's temple!

Restore the temple of God: spirit, soul and body” (1Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20)

SPIRIT:
“Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority [the right to control or govern] has been given to Me in heaven [in which God dwells] and on earth [country, region].

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [Gentile, pagan, foreign nation], baptizing [wash] them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching [provide information in a manner intended to produce understanding] them to observe [to keep, guard, obey] all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end [completion] of the age [current world system]. Amen [a formula of solemn expression of certainty]” (Matthew 28:18-20).

God has a plan for each one of us to accomplish during our lifetime. We choose daily to follow His plan or our own.

Our adversary knows our weaknesses. He will attempt to sabotage God's work in our lives. We must “Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7).

SOUL: Not my will be done, but Your will only Father God!
BODY: I choose to follow Jesus' example. Exercise will come from living life fully.

Once again, many thanks, Kathe, for putting these scriptural pieces together for our journey in GOD's restoring His temples within each believer! Prayerfully we have developed habits that will continue as we walk in the Light and He is the Light!

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." - Colossians 3:23
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to GOD the Father through Him." Colossians 3:17

Day 86: SP Challenge
“March 26, 2016
Restore the temple of God: spirit, soul and body” (1Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20)

SPIRIT:
“Now after the Sabbath [Sabbath day journey], as the first day of the week [Sabbath day journey] began to dawn [shine forth], Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

And behold there was a great earthquake [trembling of the earth crust, Webster’s] for an angel [messenger] of the Lord, descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone [stumblingstone] from the door [entrance], and sat on it. His countenance [appearance] was like lightning [bright shinning], and his clothing as white [bright, gleaming] as snow [soft, white flakes, Webster’s]. And the guards [guard, obey, observe, hold fast] shook [to be shaken, stirred up] for fear [terror] of him and became like dead [physically or fig.] men.

But the angel answered and said to the women, Do not be afraid [alarmed], for I know [to be able to use knowledge] that you seek [desired] Jesus who was crucified [to execute by nailing to a cross and leaving to die]. He is not here; for He has risen [to restore from a dead or damaged state] as He said. Come and see [to be able to use knowledge] the place [location] where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples [committed learner and followers] that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see [to appear] Him. Behold I have told you.

So they departed quickly from the tomb [grave] with fear [reverence] and great joy [happiness] and ran to bring His disciples word [bring news, declared]” (Matthew 26:1-8).

What a moment of mixed emotions. There is coming a day when we will see the final days as recorded in Scripture played out and it too will be a moment of mixed emotions. One of rejoicing for those who will be caught up in the catching away, the "Rapture" and one of total terror and fright for those who knew He was coming and who chose not to prepare. The church, must redeem the time in which we live to prepare.

Our adversary knows our weaknesses. He will attempt to sabotage God's work in our lives. We must “Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7).

BODY: I choose to follow Jesus' example. Exercise will come from living life fully.

Day 85: SP Challenge
“March 25, 2016
Restore the temple of God: spirit, soul and body” (1Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20)

SPIRIT:
“A disciple [a committed learner or follower] is not above his teacher [master-instructor], not a servant [bond] above his master [lord-master of property]. It is enough [sufficient] for a disciple that he be like [as-in same manner, Webster’s] his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house [householder] Beelzebub [Satan], how much [how great] more [instead] will they call those of his household [member of a household]! Therefore do not fear [impediment to faith and love] them. For there is nothing [no one, not anyone, nothing] hidden [veiled, hide] that will not be known [come to know, understand]. Whatever I tell you in the dark [evil; sinister, ignorant, Webster’s] speak [utter] in the light [daylight]; and what you hear [understand, obey] in the ear [listening, responding], preach [proclaim, often urging acceptance of the message with warning of consequences for not doing so] on the housetops.

And do not fear [impediment to faith and love] those who kill [natural or spiritual life] the body but cannot kill the soul [part of inner person]. But rather fear [reverence, worship] Him who is able to destroy [cause to lose] both soul and body in hell [Gehenna, torment, misery, Webster’s]” (Matthew 10:24-28

To fear what men can do to us impedes our ability to walk in faith and love. Scripture tells us that Satan goes about as a roaring [great in intensity, very loud, active, strong, especially of a temporary nature] lion.

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world” (1Peter 5:6-9).

Our adversary knows our weaknesses. He will attempt to sabotage God's work in our lives. We must “Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7).

“March 24, 2016
Restore the temple of God: spirit, soul and body” (1Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20)

SPIRIT:
“Now thanks be to God who always [at all times, forever] leads us in triumph [triumphing over] in Christ, and through [maketh manifest- to reveal, make known (through)] us diffuses the fragrance [savour] of His knowledge [understanding] in every place [opportunity].

For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved [in right relationship with God] and among those who are perishing [to kill, cause to lose].

To the one we are the aroma [odor] of death to death [dying], and to the other the aroma of life to life [physical or spiritual]. And who is sufficient [worthy] for these things? For we are not, as so many peddling [corrupt- to act as a peddler, trade in for profit] the word [spoken or written] of God; but as of sincerity [the positive moral quality of purity (especially in motive)], but as from [originating with, Webster’s] God, we speak [to talk] in the sight [presence] of God in Christ” (2Corinthians 2:14-17).

We must continually remind ourselves that we may be the only ambassadors for Jesus Christ that some will ever meet. Every human contact here on earth is an opportunity to demonstrate the love God has for all of humankind. (John 3:16)

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper and be in health, just as your soul [mind, will and emotions] prospers" (3 John 1:2 NKJV).

Day 83: SP Challenge
“March 23, 2016
Restore the temple of God: spirit, soul and body” (1Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20)

SPIRIT:
“Behold [be able to use knowledge] what manner [what kind] of love [agape, active love] the Father has bestowed [granted] on us, that we should be called children [sons- offspring] of God! Therefore the world [world system] does not know [understand] us, because it did not know [intimate knowledge (of)] Him.

Beloved [dearly loved one], now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed [be disclosed, make known] what we shall be, but we know [understand] that when He is revealed, we shall be like [of a same or similar nature or quality] Him, for we shall see [to perceive] Him as He is. And everyone [all] who has this hope [expectation] in Him purifies [to rid of impurities, Webster’s] himself, just as He is pure [free from anything that adulterates, taints]” (1John 3:1-3).

Jesus went to the cross as a sinless man and took every sin humankind would ever commit. Thank You, Jesus; we are now in right relationship with our Father. That is not to say that we do not sin, but when we repent of our sins You are faithful to forgive us.

Day 82: SP Challenge
“March 22, 2016
Restore the temple of God: spirit, soul and body” (1Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20)

SPIRIT:
“Beloved [object of special affection, and special relationship], I pray [pray for] that you may prosper [to have a way opened] in all things and be in health [sound, whole], just as your soul [mind, will, emotions] prospers. For I [John] rejoice [(am) delighted] greatly when brethren came and testified [bear witness] of the truth [corresponding to reality, verity] that is in you, just as you walk [conduct one’s life] in the truth. I have no greater joy [happiness] than to hear [understand] that my children [offspring] walk [live] in truth” (3John vs. 2-4).

We are truly blessed to share our lives with others who know and love our Lord Jesus Christ. God created every human being in His image. Hate is not part of mankind’s natural DNA. Jesus said that if the world hated Him, it would hate us also. Hateful words and actions of those who are under the sway of Satan’s kingdom (Ephesians 6:12) have no dominion over believers. Our residence is in the kingdom of God.

Day 81: SP Challenge
“March 21, 2016
Restore the temple of God: spirit, soul and body” (1Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20)

SPIRIT:
“Therefore as the elect [chosen] of God, holy [acceptable to God] and beloved, put on tender mercies [inward compassion], kindness [goodness, gentleness], humbleness of mind [modesty], meekness [courtesy, consideration], longsuffering [internal and external control in difficult circumstances]; bearing [to put up with, endure] with one another, and forgiving [frankly forgive] one another, if anyone has a complaint [grievance] against another; even as Christ forgave [freely give] you so you also must do.

But above [because of] all these things put on love [agape, active love], which is the bond of perfection [maturity, completeness]. And let the peace [tranquility] of God rule [reign, to have influence (over), Webster’s] in your hearts [seat of thought and emotions], to which also you were called in one body [emphasizing its essential unity with very important diversities of functions within the unity];

and be thankful [in word and attitude]. Let the word [spoken or written] of Christ dwell in you richly [generously] in all wisdom [secular or divine], teaching [provide information in a manner intended to produce understanding] and admonishing [warn, instruct] one another in psalms [hymns of praise] and hymns [song of praise] and spiritual [pertaining to the Spirit] songs, singing [use a song or verse in praise] with grace [state of kindness and favor towards someone] in your hearts to the Lord.

And whatever you do in word [spoken or written] or deed [activity, task], do all in the name [surname] of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him” (Colossians 3:12-17).

The world will perceive the Lord Jesus Christ through their perception of Christians. There is much diversity of doctrine and beliefs among those who profess to have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Some believers have become as confused about the truth as those of the world have. Jesus has not changed. The word of God has not changed. We must live out our lives based upon God’s truth at all times if we desire for the unsaved to see Christ in our lifestyles. Our actions speak louder than our words.
