Hello Everyone:

I would like to join as well - I will go and buy the book prior...I just re-joined Spark people yesterday and feel I need to get involved right away; this seems to be a perfect fit for me. Here are my goals:

Start Date: 1/1/2014
1. My starting weight is: _______
2. 100 day goals - loose 35 pounds
3. To reach this goal, I will:
a. Track my food
b. Try new recipes from Spark
c. Track my exercise
d. Track water - try adding fruit to flavor
e. Read posts to keep motivated
4. I promise to post here each week

My reasons for doing this is:
a. an overall feeling of well-being
b. pain in my knees, hips and back go away with less weight on my joints
c. more energy
d. vacation in April, 2014 want to feel better in summer clothes - no "stuffed sausage"
e. want to look better for my daughter's graduation pictures

100 Day Goals: to lose 20 lbs and exercise 12,000 minutes
To reach those goals each day I will:
emoticon Track all my food, sticking to Low Carb Meals
emoticon Track my fitness minutes and exercise at least 120 minutes each day
emoticon Weigh-in once a week. And I HATE TO GET ON THE SCALES!!
emoticon Get back down to 4 cigarettes a day.
emoticon Work 15 Minutes each day with Grace and Gus on leash training and basic manners so we can do Therapy Dog Program.
emoticon Walk a 5K each week.
emoticon Read the 100 Days of Weight Loss book with an open mind and participate in the discussions and do the workbook exercises I've printed off and take advantage of the e-mails.
emoticon Blog at least once per week

3. To reach those goals each day I will:
~ stay in calorie range 1200-1400
~ eat nutritiously(get the most bang for my buck calorie food)
~ visit Spark Coach daily and track food and exercise.
~ exercise at least 15 minutes every day
~ walk my dogs at least 3 x week.

I was on a challenge with my 55+ females team and we had to go in each day and edit our comment. I was trying to remember the quickie way to get to my own thread without having to read through all the others. I went back and read through the threads until I found this quickie tip!! I hope it helps all of you to get to your very own section much more often and easily.

"Just to refresh your memories. On the challenge tracker if you don't want to have to keep looking for your name, just press down the control (ctrl) button and the letter f and a little box will come up on the top. Put your name in it and hit next and it will bring you down to your name."

This really helped me on the daze I was in a hurry and just wanted to post my stuff and not linger and chat. Hope it helps!!

3. To reach those goals each day I will:

A) write down every bite and stay within my points

B) 30 minutes of exercise daily

C) No more eating at the computer and concentrate more on sparking

D) Drink six glasses of water daily

E) Stay busy by doing things I like and not to isolate myself so much. Sometimes this causes me to want to eat more.

My goals for this challenge are:

to continue with tracking sleep, water, food, vitamins, exercise and mood every day! Continue with the tools from "Writing Diet" by Julia Cameron!

-Exercise at the same high level I have been (90 min-2hrs) & add a cardio video each day!
-Steps Goal 15,000 a day 5 x's a week! Meet my calories burned off goal those days.
-Continue Strength Training with weights and resistance bands for 3 days a week! One day upper body, one day lower body and 1 day core! (Monday/Wednesday/Friday)
-Contribute to the discussion 3 Times a week on "Weight Loss" by Spangle.
-Reduce Sodium since I have failed badly at this so far!
-Eating Plan-Mostly a plant based way with fruit, vegetables, whole grains, some soy & continue with no dairy, red meat or pork! Chicken & fish is allowed and Greek Yoghurt.
-Weigh as needed or at least once a month, I'd rather judge it by the way my clothes fit!

thanks

my goals are

1. lose 10 lbs during the 100 days
2. drink water at least 3 times per day and reduce the diet cokes.
3. walk at least one mile per day and shoot for two. one in the morning and one in the afternoon or early evening
4. track my food and exercise on spark people
5. eat at least one veggie and one fruit per day
6. eat three meals and one snack per day--stop grazing which is my major problem.

Martha - You can copy the dates from one of the posts below. That's what I plan to do. The goals you'll have to think up on your own. Basically, you want to set a goal for yourself. It can be weight loss, or fitness minutes accumulated, or miles/steps walked, or something else. Then you want to say what you are going to do to meet those goals. The format below is suggested but if it doesn't work for you, then change it to make it your own. Then come back here every week, starting in January to share your progress and to also encourage everyone else working the challenge. I look forward to getting to know you!

You are invited to join the ‘100 Days of Weight Loss’ challenge here on the SparkPeople Emotional Eaters Team.

It’s easy. Set a goal and report back at least once per week how you are doing with your goal.

Most of us will be interested in weight loss and will do a weekly weigh in. You can weigh in on any day you like. You can also choose to set a goal for inches loss, Spark Fitness minutes accumulated, steps/miles walked, days without sugar, or any other health and fitness goal that you would like to challenge yourself to reach.

Here is an example of how I tracked my progress in a similar “Halloween Challenge” a couple of months ago.
