Feeling much better today! Lots of sleep yesterday. I'm a little nervous about the weigh in tomorrow. Between being sick and the Superbowl party, I'm not sure what to expect.
Tigerlillee - I much prefer weighing in in the morning. I weigh in right after I exercise in the morning, before I eat. I find that is when I weigh the least.

I guess tomorrow's weigh-in time already, huh? Boy that sneaks right up on ya! And always after a weekend, too! I'm nervous. I think I did all right, but I always get nervous when I don't calculate every single, solitary morsel, ya know? If I don't count it, I automatically feel like I overdid it. I hope not! I'm seriously thinking about switching my weigh-ins from Tuesday evenings to Wednesday mornings, though. Any thoughts?

Oh, and what do you guys think about those green tea vitamins with Hoodia? I was taking them a couple years ago, then stopped and didn't really notice much of a difference. Does anyone here take those? Do they work for you? Has anyone even heard of it? All thoughts are appreciated!

Good luck everyone!

thanks tiffy, everything flew out the window. i felt panicked but i knew what i had to do. i am a nurse, so i have had to take first aid and CPR. all i could think was flip her over, sweep her mouth, beat on her back...and thats what i did. the whole time i thought my heart was going to fly out of my chest. it was scary. guess the older one will only be able to munch in her high chair now..or sitting right next to mommy...

i dont think we are supposed to get any snow today. i hope not. i have errands to run and dont want to track the girls through it. especially since the older one is terrified of the snow. i have no idea why. this is the first winter that she can play in it and she doesnt want anything to do with it. she screams like someone is killing her if she has to walk in it or touch it, but will eat and chew ice cubes like they are nothing (so i dont think it has to do with it being cold). anyway, have a good day everyone!!!

Good Morning,
Anticipating more snow...I can't really complain. It is still winter. But, it makes it tough getting to work and all.
cold cold cold cold
I decided to start the day right, and I did some stretching and exercising (strength, calisthenics) this morning. I feel pretty good!
Have a wonderful Monday, everyone, if that isn't a contradiction in terms!

OMG Tiffy! I can't believe this is happening to you. How terrible! He sounds very controlling and possessive. That's the first thing they want to do is get them away from their family. I hope and pray she sees the light before it's too late! As for you, the next time something like that happens, you may need to call the police. I don't think it matters at this point if your sister gets mad at you, do you? I do sincerely hope you can work it out with her. The bond of sisterhood is sacred and anyone who truly loves their significant other would never make them choose!

Mary Ann- WOW! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! What exciting news! Enjoy!

As for me, I just cannot get motivated to exercise. I always "plan" it, but I just don't ever do it. I don't know what's wrong with me. I just simply don't like to do it. It takes time out of my day, it makes me hot & sweaty, and sometimes it hurts a lot!! LOL. I don't mean to be a complainer, but I'm dying to know when and what "clicked" for those people who feel like they can't get through their day without it. I want to be like those people!!!!
emoticon
I would rather sit and fold laundry while catching up on my DVR stuff than exercise, and believe me, that says A LOT!

(Sigh) Anyway, I really hope I can lose some weight this week. Unfortunately, I think exercise is going to be the key to that for me, and until I make myself do it, I'm afraid I'm going to keep hovering in this spot. I've got to start thinking about my partner, and if I don't do it for myself, I should at least do it for her!

Sorry for the whining, all. Thanks for listening. I'm glad I stopped by tonight before going to bed. Just realized I didn't post Friday or Saturday, so if I would've missed today, too, I would miss out on my postal bonus this week! Yikes!

Have a great Monday everyone!

SKAYT77-My sister seems to think that it's fine as her bf was just sticking up for her. But when my sister and I fight, my fiance stays out of it. So what makes this guy so special that he can step inbetween sisters? We're family, fighting is natural...but in this case, we weren't even fighting so that makes it that much harder to deal with. This all stemmed from a text msg that I sent my sister and then her bf read it and thought that I was mad at my sister, when I wasn't, then took it upon himself to do what he did...Not fun! I also haven't talked to my sister since the night that it happened. I think that I've lost her for good over this situation as he's finally able to cut her ties between her family. She will believe anything that he tells her.

Oh, and how did that recipe turn out btw? It sounds delicious!

MACULBERTSON-I completely agree with that "strength bombardment" session that you mentioned. A lot of us seem to be struggling with issues, whether it be personal or not, that we need help with. Saying something nice about everyone seems like it would be a great idea :)

BATHRICR-It was a good job that you were there during the popcorn incident and was able to get it out of her mouth. Way to act fast! Even if it did turn out to be messy :P

When I was a teenager, I actually saved the life of a little girl who was swimming in the shallow end of the pool (well, she was sitting on the steps splashing in the water as she DIDN'T know how to swim) while her mother watched her not even 5 feet away. I was swimming in the deep end when all of a sudden I heard the commotion and the mother screamed my name (she was a friend of a friend) as her daughter had fell into the pool and was drowning. It felt like it took FOREVER to swim across the length of the pool and pull the little girl out. She was fine though :) I gave her to her mother who was completely beyond consolable. All I remember thinking was "why couldn't the mother just walk down the steps to pick her little girl out of the water?" But I guess she just panicked. I was just glad that I was able to act as fast as I could.

Everyone-I'm sorry to be talking about all of this, I'm just so upset! I'm going to be calling a councellor tomorrow though as I just can't seem to cope with this situation, no matter how much self-talk I use...other than that, I got in my water and green tea for the day. So that's an accomplishement for me during this past week. I'm really going to try to get a session of Tae Bo in for tomorrow :) I'm just taking one day at a time right now.

Good Evening,
Cozied up in the living room with a fire in the fire place, a Ghost Hunters marathon, cats and dogs relaxing, and the anticipation of some lovely soup. Ahhh....peaceful.
More snow is predicted to hit us tomorrow evening, so we'll see how Tuesday goes. I have a school visit scheduled that day, but if school is closed, I'm off the hook!

Snow finished yesterday around 3 pm and I think our official here is 17 inches. Looks beautiful until the dogs messed it all up. DH dug out the pathway to the street so the neightbor could get to the door and cut our hair, otherwise we would have just left it until today. LOL
Bright and sunny today but not getting higher than 24 this afternoon.
Have to get creative and use whats in the house for superbowl stuff..Didn't get out to grocery shop yestsrday which is okay, still enough good stuff in the house to work with. I like the Colts for a win but I really think the Saints deserve it, they worked really hard for this year.
Off to get my cardio done for the day. Finish a project for work. hooray, almost all caught up with work stuff and spending some time working on vacation trip plans. This should be a roadtrip out west trip but not sure exactly how we will do it. I wouldlove to get my DGD to Yellowstone but I don't think she will go if her Mom and Dad don't go with us. We like to camp, DD doesn't. so we will see.

Have a Beautiful Day!

so, we didnt get any snow. which is okay with me. 30 minutes south of me got 6". have been running around the house all day chasing the 17 month old...who btw, today decided it would be cool to share popcorn with the 4 month old...could have been a disaster, but i was right there. she coughed and started to choke on it. got the popcorn out of her mouth, THEN her gag reflex kicks in and she pukes everywhere....it was an interesting day...

Hi, everyone, Happy Saturday!
Been busy all day with designing the quilt for the baby, and getting it all set up to sew. Fun! But, since I haven't exactly been fixing meals, I'm doing a lot of drive by eating...pass through the kitchen and grab something.
Hot tea is ready now, and hopefully that will quell the appetite for a while!
Best wishes to everyone. We need to have an online "strength bombardment" session, where we all say something wonderful about everyone else. Seriously. Some of us are dealing with some hard things, and it's so difficult to keep a positive self image when you have to deal with that kind of stress.
All the best,

3:00 and I'm already beat. Woke up still stuffy and achy. Started the day with taking my daughter to the carpool to her rehearsal at which point she realized she forgot her dance shoes. Sent her off with the carpool, came home, got the sneakers and took them to her. Went to get a cup of tea at Dunkin's, my other daughter used all my money last night. Did the grocery shopping, came home and did 35 min. of Biggest Loser Last Chance Workout, the communion bread is rising for tomorrow and now I'm making the lasagne for the Super Bowl party.
I need a nap!

Bathricr take that little one out in the snow! lol.. maybe not if you get alot though, she needs to be broke in slowly! lol

Tiffy those are some serious problems! How is your sister handling his bad behavior?? The bad names are bad enough, but to do stuff to your property is way out of line! Hope it gets resolved soon. Don't let it eat away at you, it isn't your fault and he is the idiot!

Making dinner for a friend today. Told her I was tired of cooking just for me! It is more fun to cook for company. Got a recipe off here that sounded yummy. Chicken breasts stuffed with ham, mozzarella and spinach. Smells good cooking. Hope it turns out. Not sure if I should try new recipes on other people. lol

Just checking in. I'm really not doing well at all. I've been dealing with a violent situation since last Saturday (my sister's bf called me a lot of vile names which set off my fiance. My fiance has calmed down, but her bf has so far kicked a whole bunch of snow on our door so that we had to shovel it out to get it, and he's also threw all of our spare tires into the ditch across the road. He's also made it quite clear that he wanted to fight both my fiance AND ME! I guess he has no problem hurting a girl...). So ya...not fun. I've even had the police involved and everything. Everyone is blaming me: it's MY fault he called me all those names, it's MY fault he came over and mishandled our property and it's MY fault he wants to beat us up...etc.

So this is why I haven't been on SP for a long while. I'm trying to pick up the pieces of my life...but it just doesn't seem to be working. My weight hasn't gone up all that much, but it hasn't gone down either. I really need to snap out of this rut and move on with my life...it's just so hard as I've lost my sister over it and she was my MOH for my wedding...

Skayt77 - I think the same when I look at my shopping cart - funny!

No big plans for the weekend - other than to keep my focus -- otherwise, I have to get out and get a tire fixed and go to the bank -- then I will see what DD and I can get into.

Hey everybody,

Had computer problems but now they are gone. Not the kids - I seriously had to reboot the blasted thing! Hope those having snow get the chance to enjoy it. No long run tomorrow with the 6 inches of snow out there plus the blowing and drifting and whatever else falls. I'll skip the 2 feet predicted for the East Coast.

My day started out okay, but I had a bad night at work. Did not appreciate a comment that was made to me, and it just reinforced how unappreciated and taken advantage of I feel sometimes. I discovered that the "emotional eater" is still lurking deep down inside of me. I came home and indulged in some boxed mac n' cheese and followed it up later with about a cup of buttered white rice. UGH! WHY? WHY? WHY!

I have been very busy but I'm still carving out time for exercise... at 4:45 am. I have a chart over my desk at work and give myself a sticker every time I exercise. I also have a chart where I fill in the date when I have lost another 5 lbs. Looking forward to adding next week's date above the 10 lb mark. Not sure why my motivation is so much better this time but I hope I can continue with it.

Well, good morning
Started the day wiht a bang. DD missed the bus, forgot her key and cell phone. So she was down there banging on the door, dogs barking like crazy and not a sole in the house hears a thing. I could sleep though a hurricane, apparantly so can everyone else. She got to shcool on time and I was forced to get up and get 30 minutes in this morning. Better forced that not do it at all.

Chin up, Mary Ann. I gained, too. I lost control a bit over the weekend, and it came back to haunt me. I gained one, and just when I was "this close" to getting out of the 250's! FRUSTRATING! I need to keep that goal in mind this week, so I can stay focused. I just need a 2-pound loss to get into 240-ville.

I had a good day today, foodwise, but didn't walk like I had hoped to. Thankfully it's early in the week, and I can make up for it. I plan to workout for at least three days this week, maybe more if I can fit it in. Let me rephrase that: Maybe more if I make it the priority it should be!! The chiropractor says nothing too "dangerous" so I'll be hanging out with Leslie Sansone this week. Which is fine with me, because I always enjoy those, anyway.

My Daily Three:
Good: ATE GREAT!
Bad: Fell asleep on the couch watching the little one play the Wii instead of working out like I should have.
Proud: Stayed well within my calorie range- and lived to tell about it! LOL

Maculbertson,I'm with you on that one!

Hope everyone is doing well after the weigh in - I had a very small loss, but I'm glad it wasn't a gain -- keeping to the grind stone!

Checking in for the day. Went out for dinner last nite but had grilled chicken breast with a few fries. Then came home & watched BL.

Hello,
Sadly, but truly, I gained 3 pounds. Bad week. ...bad me. Salt? Too many calories? Not enough exercise? Stress? Yes to all of that, probably.

Well, it's time to buckle down and lose some of these pounds. I refuse to let the weight win.

Sorry to be late getting the thread up. Had issues yesterday and got only the weigh in thread done.
