I did not realize the challenge was a spark team so I am behind one week. I am down 7 pounds in 3 weeks total. I am out in the paddocks every evening cleaning and also got the rototiller going to add to the workouts. Water is doing ok. Sleep is doing better then it has in months. Vegetables are being prepared and eaten about 3 or 4 times a week vs the salads only that I was eating a couple times a week.

I am Serena and I live on a ranch on the Columbia River in NE Washington state.

need to make sure I track my food 1 day in advance, then change what I need to the next day

I have pleurisy, 2 types of anemia, macrocytic anemia, Iron deficiency anemia, from blood transfusions with wrong antibodies, causes blood to replace daily instead of 100 days, chronic pneumonia, pleurisy, chronic kidney disease, a partially collapsed lung, low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years. Now formed scar tissue.I am 56 years old. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 4 years as well. I have new blood clots now,2019.I am on P.S.T. time zone.

Day 13
Did well except started job volunteering at thrift store, they have treats there every day,today, timbits,cookies & a loaf cake, like a lot of volunteer jobs I have had before they take offence if you do not eat some of their snacks, will plan & have less next time, it is 1 day a week only. I had a cookie & 1 timbit,will have less next time.

Still doing well!

I got 2 of my Amazon cookbooks today, one lists low cost 100 recipes and shows 1 star at very cheap,3 stars is highest and still low priced foods, also one on gluten free Italian cooking, both have,meals,salads, snacks,desserts & tips to use as well. Some of the recipes I will change slightly as I am allergic to almost everything. I do not want low fat as it has been shown that the cholesterol in foods does not raise cholesterol and people gain weight more from sugar & not fat. The government got rid of cholesterol limits 2 years ago. When I eat some healthy fat with food I do stay full longer.

I am doing well, but slip occasionally. Today I ordered 5 cookbooks from Amazon,1 is allergy free pantry with recipes without wheat,gluten,dairy,eggs,soy or nuts & what to do with your pantry .I am allergic to everything! 2nd is Gluten free Italian,3rd stevia snacks & desserts, 4th 300 recipes on Mediterranean diet,5th low budget 100 recipes with 500 photographs, all except stevia include all meals, snacks & desserts. I then downloaded 2 free complete cookbooks from library ebooks. I will keep some information from their cookbooks and delete some. Later I can do more library cookbooks for free. So I hope in a few days to look online at some of the library cookbooks for help.

today i picked up a new fruit: cape gooseberries or goldenberries. they look like little yellow tomatoes, but they are sweeter and tart. jury is out on weather i will buy them again or not.

Had good breakfast of oatmeal, milk, few walnuts and full apple. Then lunch was a spinach salad w veggies and 1/3 of an avocado. But knew had to eat something before going out to dinner. What is better - slice of bread, fruit or slice of cheese before dinner of 1/2 cup rice, 3 oz. ground lamb, 1 small pita and green beans?

Adding fresh produce in my arsenal is my #1 challenge. I've just come back to SP when I started a kickboxing class. Tracking my food for a "normal" week really opened my eyes to my nutritional deficiencies! This week I shopped only the produce and grain sections (chicken breasts already on hand). Anxious for this belly bloat/love handles/"wth is going on here" to go away!

Good, results from Dr. show no liver damage,stage 2 kidney disease,need Iron,no other Dr. to see. Dr. said my kidneys are normal at GFR of 68,I know it is normal 90-100. His chart shows everyone normal till below 60. 30-59 is stage 3. I can figure it out for myself that there is some damage done. I will carry on my kidney diet with increasing my protein if possible and started Iron pills today. | am trying a 1300 calorie a day kidney diet.

I had some chocolate last night but, did not gain or lose this month, so I am O.k. I lost 36 pounds Feb.1-June 1 this year and have 15 pounds left to lose. I was told my chronic kidney disease is getting worse and causing liver damage a week ago. So I immediately changed to a kidney diet. I am waiting to see a kidney specialist 1 hour drive away. He will give me 14 results of tests done recently. Dr. I saw at the clinic will not give me the results.I have since stopped Spark people menu as no good for my health but, I use everything else.

UGH! got into some unhealthy snacks last night. Funny, how it only takes one little "treat" to send you on a junk binge. Yesterday I decided to have 2 ginger snaps as a little treat after lunch.....bad mistake as it really set me off. I know this will happen, SO why do I continue to do it?

Today is a new day....no processed treats!!

Starting Week #2 today. I am prepared with healthy lean proteins, vegetables and fruits for dessert. Learning to eliminate the sugary processed snacks at night. These next 4 days will be a challenge as we will be working and campers tend to want to bring us "fattening foods". Going to work toward control over what goes in my mouth these 4 days.

Everything was going great until today. I substituted for the PE teacher at school and a couple of kids gave me candy (valentine day parties today). Then I didn't have time to make the evening meal I had planned and ended up eating less healthily. I did get my fiber and plenty of water. Oh well, I've had 5 really good days and 1 not so good. Tomorrow I'll make a good day for sure!
On the plus side, I did get a LOT of walking in today which is good because I am too tired to do Yoga tonight.

Wise choices each day will get me where I want to be.

DH has gotten in to a "new" ornery with his Alzheimer's. I am having problems fixing foods he will eat. Tough week, for sure!

So far, week 2 is going well! I’ve been able to curb my sugar addiction a little; only having a few York minis at a time rather than the whole bag. (No, I didn’t buy them, my SO did.) Water is no problem; I normally drink at least 64 oz. and usually more than 80. I try not to snack much and I have joined some new teams and started posting on the message boards.
