She let go.
Without a thought or word, she let go.
She let go of fear. She let go of judgements. She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around in her head.
She let go of the committee of indecision within her. She let go for all the 'right' reasons. Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry. She just let go.

She didn't ask anyone for advice. She didn't read a book on how to let go. She didn't search the scriptures. She just let go. She let go of all the memories that held her back. She let go of all the anxiety that kept her from moving forward. She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.

She didn't promise to let go. She didn't journal about it. She didn't write a projected date in her day-timer. She made no public announcement. She just let go. She didn't analyze whether she should let go. She didn't discuss the matter with friends. She didn't do a five-step Spiritual mind session. She didn't call a prayer line. She didn't utter one word.
She just let go.

No one was around when it happened. There was no applause or congratulations. No one thanked or praised her. No one noticed a thing. Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.
There was no real effort. There was no real struggle. It wasn't good and it wasn't bad. It was what it was and it is just that.

In the space of letting go, she let it all be.
A small smile spread over her face. A light breeze blew through her
And the sun and moon shone forevermore...

How much stress are you carrying around? Do you feel burdened by life’s circumstances and emotional issues? Becoming more grounded and happy starts with letting go of worry and stress. I am learning this in my own journey, through overcoming, healing myself from depression, and walking away from a career in corporate to follow my heart ... I have to let go of a lot of things to become the person I am to be.

Physically, spiritually and emotionally, I am learning how to let go of the person I thought I should be in order to be the person I really wanted to be. Letting go of anything in life can be a little scary, but it can also be an amazing act of self-love.

Letting go of my worries and stress are making a difference for me; of course, I will still dip in and out of some of my stress jar from time to time, but I've found this list a good reminder of what I need to strive for each day in order to reach unlimited happiness.

1. Let go of all thoughts that don't make you feel empowered and strong.

2. Let go of feeling guilty for doing what you truly want to do.

3. Let go of the fear of the unknown; take one small step and watch the path reveal itself.

4. Let go of regrets; at one point in your life, that “whatever" was exactly what you wanted.

5. Let go of worrying; worrying is like praying for what you don't want.

6. Let go of blaming anyone for anything; be accountable for your own life. If you don't like something, you have two choices, accept it or change it.

7. Let go of thinking you are damaged; you matter, and the world needs you just as you are.

8. Let go of thinking your dreams are not important; always follow your heart.

9. Let go of being the “go-to person" for everyone, all the time; stop blowing yourself off and take care of yourself first … because, you matter.

10. Let go of thinking everyone else is happier, more successful or better off than you. You are right where you need to be. Your journey is unfolding perfectly for you.

11. Let go of thinking there's a right and wrong way to do things or to see the world. Enjoy the contrast and celebrate the diversity and richness of life.

12. Let go of cheating on your future with your past. It's time to move on and tell a new story.

13. Let go of thinking you are not where you should be. You are right where you need to be to get to where you want to go, so start asking yourself where you want to go.

14. Let go of anger toward ex-lovers, friends and family. We all deserve happiness and love; just because it is over doesn't mean the love was wrong.

15. Let go of the need to do more and be more; for today, you've done the best you can, and that's enough.

16. Let go of thinking you have to know how to make it happen; we learn the way on the way.

17. Let go of your money woes — make a plan to pay off debt and focus on your abundance.

18. Let go of trying to save or change people. Everyone has her own path, and the best thing you can do is work on yourself and stop focusing on others.

19. Let go of trying to fit in and be accepted by everyone. Your uniqueness is what makes you outstanding.

20. Let go of self-hate. You are not the shape of your body or the number on the scale. Who you are matters, and the world needs you as you are. Celebrate you!

For sure! Being diagnosed type 2 diabetic, I quickly learned that the hormones all interact and are an integral part of how our metabolism functions and affects our ability to loose weight and/or fat.

Thanks.

TWO TYPES OF BELLY FAT

As mentioned earlier, you actually have two types of belly fat: subcutaneous belly fat and visceral abdominal fat. Visceral abdominal fat has more beta-adrenergic receptors and therefore better blood flow. That’s good news because it means that visceral belly fat is very responsive to diet and the kind of exercise I will tell you about below.
Subcutaneous fat has more alpha-adrenergic receptors. This means fat is released more slowly, and since there is less blood flow, it is harder for it to be swept away when it is released. That means subcutaneous belly fat can be very difficult to burn.
So there is good news and bad news here. If you have more visceral abdominal fat, you will get more results more quickly. But once that’s burned off, the subcutaneous fat—that inch or two you can pinch over your waistline—can be more of a challenge to get rid of.
The good news is that both kinds of fat can be burned, and the hormonal balance is crucial to doing so.

FEMALE BELLY FAT AND HORMONES

There are a few hormones we need to talk about related to belly fat in women. And before the calorie zealots get in an uproar, I am not saying calories don’t matter. What I am saying is that it is the hormonal situation that determines where fat is stored, and belly fat is no different.
To lose fat you need both a caloric deficit and hormonal balance. To lose stubborn fat, particularly stubborn belly fat, you need to understand the hormones involved. In women, those hormones are insulin, cortisol, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Plus the major fat-burning hormones, the catecholamines.
Certain hormones have a very straightforward impact on fat gain or loss. For example, Insulin is a fat-storing hormone because it increases the activity of LPL (your fat-storing enzyme) and suppresses HSL (your fat releasing enzyme). Insulin also impairs the normal function of beta receptors, which is another form of HSL inhibition. This means insulin lowers HSL activity directly and indirectly via beta-receptor disruption.
Catecholamines—adrenaline and noradrenaline to our UK/European friends and epinephrine and norepinephrine to us Americans—speed fat release when they bind beta receptors, which increases HSL activity. But they can also slow fat release when they bind alpha receptors. This is one of the reasons stubborn fat, which has a higher concentration of alpha receptors, can be so slow to respond.
Other hormones have more complex and overlapping activities. Estrogen seems to increase both the number AND activity of alpha-adrenergic receptors. The typical female fat distribution—where fat is stored in the lower body—is primarily due to the impact of estrogen (the subcutaneous fat and especially the lower body subcutaneous fat of women is richer in estrogen receptors).
This means that if you have a lot of belly fat, it could be an indication that your estrogen levels are out of balance.
The thing to understand about hormones is that they never work in isolation. In other words, it is wrong to think about the action of a single hormone, because hormones behave differently depending on the “hormonal social environment” they find themselves in. For example, insulin and cortisol “socializing with” high testosterone and low estrogen and/or progesterone have a unique outcome that makes women more likely to store belly fat.
So let’s briefly discuss what each of the key hormonal belly fat influencers does:
• Insulin is a fat-storing hormone. It increases the activity of LPL, reduces the activity of HSL, and impairs the normal operation of beta receptors. Too much insulin around for too long means more fat overall.
• Cortisol is associated with stress, and more stress-reactive women release more cortisol and have higher amounts of belly fat whether they are thin or overweight. We will talk about this in more detail in a moment.
• Catecholamines (adrenaline and noradrenaline) are released during intense exercise and have a strong fat-burning effect on visceral belly fat (deep stomach fat), and a weaker fat-burning impact on subcutaneous belly fat. This is because subcutaneous belly fat has more anti-fat burning alpha-adrenergic receptors while visceral fat has more fat-burning beta receptors.
• Estrogen is largely responsible for how fat is distributed to women. It makes you more insulin sensitive, which means excess calories are less likely to be stored as belly fat. When enough estrogen is around it is more likely that a calorie deficit results in fat loss than muscle loss. Estrogen balance is critically important.
• Progesterone has an indirect influence on belly fat due to its relationship to cortisol. It opposes the fat-storing action that cortisol has on the belly, meaning that it protects you from belly fat gain even in times of stress.
• The testosterone-to-estrogen ratio is critical for women. Women with higher testosterone levels, like those with PCOS, have thicker waists.

WHY IS SOME FAT STUBBORN?

Unfortunately, some fat (like belly fat) is very difficult to burn. How could this be? To understand stubborn fat we need to cover some basics of biochemistry. This discussion is a bit technical but stick with it. Understanding how to burn off belly fat is worth it.
Fat enters or leaves fat cells mainly due to the activity of two enzymes: lipoprotein lipase (LPL), which acts to store fat, and hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL), which acts to release it. Notice the name of the major fat-releasing enzyme? It’s called “hormone-sensitive lipase” and not “calorie-sensitive lipase”. That’s important. Hormones, not a reduction in calories, stimulate the release of fat.
HSL releases fat due to the signalling of a compound called cyclic AMP. And this is impacted by the activity of hormone receptors in fat tissue called adrenergic receptors (AR).
There are two types of adrenergic receptors: alpha and beta. The alpha receptors slow fat release and beta receptors speed fat release. To keep this straight in your head think “A” for “anti-burn” and “B” for “burn”.
In addition to having a direct impact on fat release, these receptors also impact blood flow. More alpha receptors mean less blood flow to an area, and more beta receptors mean greater blood flow.
Remember, the amount of blood flow is important because fat needs to released from a fat cell and to move through the bloodstream to get to another cell where it will be burned up. Lower blood flow means slower fat loss.
Let’s dig into what all of this means for belly fat specifically.

HOW FAT IS BURNED?

To know how to attack belly fat, you need to know a little bit about how fat is burned in the first place. So let’s review the fat burning process.
In order for fat to be lost from a particular area three things need to occur:
1.Fat needs to be released from a fat cell (this process of fat breakdown and release is called “lipolysis”).
2.Fat needs to be carried to another cell through the bloodstream (poor blood flow to an area means slow fat loss from an area).
3.Fat needs to enter another cell to be burned (this process of fat actually being burned is called “lipid oxidation”).
It is important to note here that just because fat is broken down and released (lipolysis), does not automatically mean it will find its way to another cell and ultimately be burned (lipid oxidation). It could be restored, and this is often the case in people who are very insulin-resistant.

THE LINK BETWEEN ABDOMINAL FAT, HORMONE HEALTH AND APPEARANCE

The other day a patient of mine asked me: “I hear people constantly talking about how women store fat in the lower body, and men store fat in the stomach. But I don’t store fat like the typical woman. I have all this fat around my middle, but my legs are still in pretty good shape. What does this mean? Why do I store fat this way?”
I have been asked a variation of this exact question at almost every talk or lecture I give on female fat loss. Many women are confused about why they are gaining fat around their middle, and they should be. After all, the typical fat distribution for women is to store more in the bust, hips, butt, and thighs and less in the waist.
This is why women have that beautiful hourglass shape. Many are not aware of this, but research shows that across cultures both males and females prefer this particular shape when it comes to the female form. Men and women prefer this shape regardless of size. In fact, the hourglass shape seems to be more important when it comes to attractiveness than thinness.
This brings up an interesting point about body image—something I don’t think is discussed enough in the health and weight loss literature. I happen to think women of all sizes and shapes are beautiful, and we need to talk about this more in health and fitness. Sometimes I think all we are doing is making people neurotic when we talk about body change.
Discussing “fat loss” often gets misinterpreted as saying women “should” look a certain way. Nothing could be further from the truth. Beauty—to me anyway—goes far beyond a particular look or shape. But excess fat, especially around your belly, has health implications that should not be ignored.
This is especially true of visceral abdominal fat—not the stuff that you can pinch, but the fat inside, around your organs and under your abdominal muscles. This type of fat releases inflammatory compounds that have many downstream health consequences and is associated with an increased risk of metabolic diseases like heart disease, type II diabetes, and even cancer. This means burning belly fat can make you healthier, and get you closer to that hourglass shape at the same time. In fact, research has even pinpointed the exact proportions that are preferred by men and women: a waist-to-hip ratio of between 0.7 and 0.8, and a waist-to-chest ratio also between 0.7 and 0.8. Depending on the woman, this would mean the perfect female proportions would be something like 36:26:36 (chest:waist: hips).
Women of all sizes are considered more attractive at these proportions. They could be smaller, larger, taller, or shorter. The relative proportions of the waist to chest and hips dominates the attractiveness factor for females—NOT size.1 An interesting thing about the client I mentioned above is that she is not fat by anyone’s standard. In fact, she is underweight compared to the average. If it were not for the fact that I know her measurements, I would have probably dismissed her observation as another example of poor body image.
Another interesting fact about the waist-to-hip ratio is that when it rises much above 0.8 this is an indication that your hormones are changing. Menopausal women will tell you this firsthand. They may not gain weight, but their proportions change.
This is the influence of estrogen and progesterone. As estrogen/progesterone fall, and testosterone/cortisol/insulin rise, you gain more fat around the middle and less in other areas. You’ll learn why in a moment.
Most importantly, research has shown that a higher waist-to-hip ratio is associated with a greater risk of health problems. This is because a higher waist-to-hip ratio means more visceral belly fat, more inflammation, and all of the negative metabolic consequences that come with it.
So attacking female belly fat is crucial, not just because it will make you look better, but because it will make you healthier. An improved hourglass figure is just a nice side effect

How many of us have morning routines? — a morning meditation, a few yoga poses, a brisk walk around the neighbourhood, or a delicious fruit-infused smoothie. Daily routines are essential to health and happiness, and this is especially true at the beginning of the day.

How about a quick and simple glass of warm lemon water with Himalayan salt or high-quality sea salt? This simple drink can boost your morning health and wellness toward the restoration of health — and it’s so easy to make.

A 10-ounce glass of warm lemon water with Himalayan salt or high-quality sea salt in the morning can increase your immune function, decrease uric acid to fight inflammation, improve digestion, and balance your body. These benefits can be attributed to the vitamin C content of the lemon juice as well as the essential minerals contained in Himalayan salt. This simple morning drink promotes vitality, health and overall wellness.

Let’s take a closer look at 19 of the balancing benefits of water, lemon, and salt, all in one cup.
Lemons are excellent for fighting inflammation. Lemons can help dissolve the uric acid in your joints, and also have been found to help build and repair tendons, ligaments, and bone. This anti-inflammatory property may be especially beneficial for people with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, according to an American College of Physicians study on osteoarthritis, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine (2000).

Aids in proper food and water absorption. A daily glass of lemon water with Himalayan salt or high-quality sea salt may provide a better overall mineral balance, which promotes proper food and water absorption in your body, allowing essential nutrients to get where they need to be.

Balances your body’s acidity (pH). The alkalizing effects of lemon and natural salt are highly useful for managing your body’s delicate pH balance, which is crucial for the optimal functioning of the body’s systems.

Boosts immune function. One lemon serves up 139 percent of your daily value (DV) for vitamin C. Squeezing one lemon into your morning is a natural alternative to that vitamin C supplement you may be taking.

It’s a detox for your cells. The all-natural Himalayan salt mixed with lemon juice and water helps to pull toxins from your cells, reducing cellular toxicity. This may reduce your risk for various chronic diseases, as well as make you feel generally awesome!

Reduces problematic cellulite. Natural salts like Himalayan salt have been used for centuries for skincare. Interestingly, most spa treatments for cellulitis contain some form of salt and/or citrus blend. A few daily gulps of lemon and saltwater in the morning may firm up a few of those unsightly areas.

Clears up the skin and adds a fresh glow. Using natural salt for skin problems, such as psoriasis and eczema, dates back to ancient Roman times. Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius’ doctor, Galen from Pergamum, used sea salt for skin diseases, according to Science Tribune (1999).

warm lemon water

Useful for allergy season. It has been suggested that the combination of lemon and salt, specifically mixed into warm water, acts as a natural antihistamine for allergies. It may be the perfect alternative to those pink pills that leave you feeling drowsy.

Paves the way for better sleep. The natural hormone-balancing properties of lemon and Himalayan salt or high-quality sea salt can be more than useful when it comes to bedtime. Getting the proper amount of sleep is essential for physical health, mental health, productivity, and much more. This hormone-balancing beverage can make an effective nightcap.

Helps controls blood sugar. The fibre content of lemons helps to balance blood glucose levels, which is useful for type 2 diabetes patients and prediabetics alike, according to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine (2000).

Lemons may help detoxify your liver. Vitamin C is essential for producing glutathione, which plays a foundational role in detoxifying the liver. It also has antiseptic properties that are useful for liver function, as well.

Freshens breath! Lemon and Himalayan salt may not be the first things that come to mind when you think of fresh breath. However, the lemon and salt in this simple morning drink help kill the bad breath bacteria that build up while you’re sleeping.

May help you chill out. When you get stressed out, do not be so quick to reach for those prescription pills. You may be able to chill out and return to that state of Zen by boosting your vitamin C levels first thing in the morning.

Useful for reducing blood pressure. Lemons are not all about vitamin C and fibre. They also boast potassium, which is vital for flushing excessive sodium from the body.

Boost your libido! The vitamin C content and hormone-balancing properties of this morning beverage can help lift your mood. This might be all it takes to boost your libido, without the need for that little blue pill.

Gets you hydrated right out of the gate. Many people forget how important hydration is, especially after a seven or eight-hour sleep period with no water. Start your morning off right and get hydrated. The water, salt and zesty lemon will get your day off to the perfect start.

An antioxidant powerhouse is vital for, well, everything! Lemon offers up a wealth of vitamins and minerals, while Himalayan salt boosts your mineral and trace mineral levels even more. The antioxidant and detoxifying properties of lemon saltwater pack a powerful, free radical knockout punch.

May improve your heart health. Lemons and real salt are both exceptional for increasing heart health on their own. However, when you combine the two into one vibrant morning drink, you get even more vital heart-thumping health benefits.

Promotes digestive health. A glass of warm lemon water with Himalayan salt or high-quality sea salt before breakfast, or any meal, helps signal your liver to produce the essential bile needed to clean out harmful gut bacteria. The fibre content and natural salt will also promote digestion.

Are you ready to commit to this simple and health-promoting morning drink? I have been drinking warm lemon water with a little bit of Himalayan salt every morning for months, and I absolutely love it. My energy levels are up, and I feel as cool as a cucumber throughout the day.

Want to join me? Combine 10 ounces of filtered water with one whole lemon, squeezed, and half a teaspoon of Himalayan salt.

Have you ever been in a tense or difficult situation when you suddenly burst into a fit of giggles? Or feel a release or rejuvenated after watching a side-splittingly funny movie?

It turns out there’s some scientific veracity behind the old adage “laughter is the best medicine.”

Laughter is Contagious
The discovery of mirror neurons—what causes you to smile when someone smiles at you—gives credence to the belief that laughter is contagious.

When you’re feeling down finding friends to laugh with can help your brain trigger its own laughter response and foster closeness, both of which contribute to your sense of well-being. Why do you think that sense of humour is such an important trait when looking for a partner? We like the feeling of shared laughter and our body wants as much of this feeling as possible.

Laughter Reduces the Stress Response
When you laugh there’s a contraction of muscles, which increases blood flow and oxygenation. This stimulates the heart and lungs and triggers the release of endorphins that help you to feel more relaxed both physically and emotionally.

Laughter Boosts Immunity
According to one study done at Indiana State School of nursing, mirthful laughter may increase natural killer cell levels, a type of white blood cell that attacks cancer cells.

Laughter Increases Resilience
Resilience is the ability to see failure as a natural progression to success rather than as a negative outcome. People who are resilient are happier and more successful.

The ability to acknowledge mistakes without becoming angry or frustrated plays an important role in developing resilience. Laughing at mistakes allows us to recognize that making errors is a part of being human.

Laughter Combats Depression
Studies support laughter as a great way to get outside the downward spiral to depression. Being unhappy can become a pattern or mindset if we don’t step outside of ourselves occasionally. By being a witness to our situation rather than allowing ourselves to feel the victim we can find the humour in it and see with fresh eyes. Even forced laughter releases a cocktail of hormones, neuropeptides, and dopamine that can start to improve your mood.

Laughter Relieves Pain
People who are laughing don’t experience less pain, however, they report being less bothered by the pain they do experience. It’s not about changing pain levels. The amount of pain remains the same, but your perceived pain levels reduce and your belief that you can cope increases. Laughter by itself isn’t the solution but it can help a person overcome discomfort.

Make humour a priority by reading a funny book, watching a comedy, or listening to your favorite comedian.
Share laughter with friends. Spend more time with people who have fun.
Practice laughter yoga, which Dr. Sethi practices and teaches on occasion.
Remember that life is funny. The ability to laugh at yourself makes you attractive to others and can help relieve your own stress. Focus on finding the laughable moments in your day, and then tell a friend your funny story as a way to increase the power of laughter by sharing.
Know what isn’t funny. Laughing at the expense of others isn’t funny. Be discerning about your humour by laughing with—not at—people.

There's just not enough of it these days. So I thought a good dose of laughter would do us all some good!

Lemon water & sea salt

Many of us have morning routines that are wonderful health practices — a morning meditation, a few yoga poses, a brisk walk around the neighbourhood, or a delicious fruit-infused smoothie. Daily routines are vital to health and happiness, and this is especially true at the start of the day.

How about a quick and simple glass of warm lemon water with Himalayan salt.
This simple drink can boost your morning health and wellness regimen — and it’s so easy to make.
A 10-ounce glass of warm lemon water with 1/2 tsp of Himalayan salt or high-quality sea salt in the morning can increase your immune function, decrease uric acid to fight inflammation, improve digestion, and balance your body. These benefits can be attributed to the vitamin C content of the lemon juice as well as the essential minerals contained in Himalayan salt. This simple morning drink promotes vitality.

Natural salt supports electrochemical reactions in the body, while negative ions assist in healthy heart rhythm. Lemons are rich in vitamin C, which is, “associated with lower endothelial dysfunction in men with no history of cardiovascular disease or diabetes,” according to a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (2006).

(Note: Add your favourite greens powder mix in here too if you desire…it actually tastes even better with the right greens mix.

Dr. Jaime Hope, M.D. sent this to me just yesterday and even though there is so much information available on the internet today I found there to be more truth in this than anything else I've come across.

Tin Man Joints

the #1 complaint I hear from patients in their 40s on up about what MOST ruins their quality of life and their happiness is…

Joint issues!

I’m talking about discomfort in your neck, back, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, hips, knees, ankles and even feet!
Because it really is just like the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz whose creaky joints immobilized him and made him walk like a stiff board.

It really can feel like a personal prison because:

Nothing makes you feel “old” more than not being able to move around like you used to and participate in activities you love.
It steals your freedom to enjoy simple things, like playing with grandchildren and pets and working in the garden.
Getting routine exercise is far more difficult.
Just walking up the stairs and getting out of chairs can be excruciating.
It can disturb sleep, which makes you feel terrible and can lead to serious issues. (If you’ve ever tried to sleep with uncomfortable shoulders you know what I’m talking about!)
It often even hurts relationships because you can’t do many things you once did together, including “getting intimate” like you used to.
And what makes it EVEN HARDER is the fear it’s all just going to keep getting WORSE. Unfortunately, that’s true… IF you do nothing to address the underlying causes.

However, the REALLY GOOD NEWS is there’s finally an easy way to address this underlying cause that most people never realize!

You see, it’s actually a 3-point breakdown that leads to those joint issues…
…And you need to consume the right nutrients that properly support the 3-part solution to this triple breakdown -- which is to RESTORE, PROTECT, and LUBRICATE your joints.

So, what exactly causes “Tin Man Joints” and all the physical and emotional problems it leads to?
Well, all the same, “negatives” that lead to other health problems have a very negative impact on your joints, including:

1. Being overweight.
2. Poor diet.
3. Unhealthy inflammation levels.
4. Age-related hormone changes.
5. Overuse and misuse of joints.

Now, while I do recommend working to improve in these areas, if we wait to “fix” these five issues, well, we all know where that waiting leads.

So, again, the great news is there’s now a 3-part-in-one nutrient solution that can quickly help you restore, protect, and lubricate your joints.

BEFORE we get to that, you need to know the other big problem causing such unnecessary suffering with Tin Man Joints:

Some joint supplements out there are flat-out WORTHLESS.

Worse still, a few bad apples may actually cause HARM.

I know those are bold statements, so here are the 4 specific facts to beware of:

#1. Glucosamine and chondroitin, the most common nutrients in joint supplements, are mediocre at best.

In fact, one well-controlled study showed that supplementation with glucosamine and chondroitin was NO BETTER THAN PLACEBO at reducing joint discomfort.

And what’s more, a meta-analysis -- which is basically a statistical review of all the studies on a given topic -- concluded that glucosamine, chondroitin and the two in combination did not provide joint comfort relief when compared to placebo.

Furthermore, if anyone did want to settle for mediocrity, they’d have to take MEGA does of 8 to 12 large glucosamine and chondroitin capsules daily to get it!

#2. Many people turn to acetaminophen and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), but these are merely masks for some of the symptoms. They don’t address the underlying problems, but their routine use can have very serious consequences. For example, research has shown that ongoing use of NSAIDs has been associated with GI discomfort, the enhanced risk for GI bleeding, hypertension, and more.

#3. A widespread -- and unethical -- practice amongst so many joint supplements is “fairy dusting.” This is when the right ingredient is added to a supplement, but in such an insignificant amount that it won’t help you. Companies do this to trick you into buying the product. Remember, the right quantities of the right ingredients matter in a big way!

#4. Many joint supplements may actually cause HARM because some supplement makers do ZERO independent testings of their products to ensure they’re free of harmful contaminants. Furthermore, many contain GMOs, artificial ingredients, and other JUNK that can irritate your joints.

Now, this all begs the key question: What WILL help you?

Like I said, the VERY good news is that there are specific ingredients that provide powerful support to address the “3-point breakdown” that leads to those Tin Man Joints.

However, to understand why those important ingredients work so well, you need to know how the 3-point breakdown leads to bad joints:

1) The Collagen DECLINE

Collagen is the main protein in your cartilage, the spongy tissue that cushions the ends of your bones where joints meet. It protects your bones from grinding against each other.

Due to various “modern lifestyle” factors like those I described above, this collagen can deteriorate over time.

In fact, by the time people reach their “middle ages,” the body often produces less than HALF the collagen it did in youth!

This means decreased cartilage, which in turn means less cushioning, which in turn means… joint discomfort and stiffness, aka Tin Man Joints!

2) The ATTACK of the Enzymes

When joints are compromised, collagen-degrading enzymes known as MMPs and 5-LOX run rampant, leading to even more rapid collagen and cartilage deterioration. In other words, they make a bad matter worse.

3) The DRY OUT

Hyaluronic acid is the key component of the body’s joint fluid (a.k.a. “synovial fluid”). It helps reduce friction between bones by providing lubrication. Unfortunately, as cartilage deteriorates, so does both the quantity and quality of this joint fluid.

Okay, you now know what causes the 3-point breakdown, and what to avoid because it doesn’t help and may even cause harm.

Now, of course, he's promoting a better/best solution and because my Walter has deteriorating shoulder joints because of the line of work he's been in for almost 20 years I'm willing to try it. But that's me.

He also maintains to BEWARE THESE TOP 5 ISSUES WITH TYPICAL JOINT SUPPLEMENTS & SOLUTIONS
1. Glucosamine & Chondroitin = Mediocre
Far and away, the most common nutrients in joint supplements are glucosamine and chondroitin. Unfortunately, at the very best, these nutrients will yield only mediocre results.

In fact, in a study published in the prestigious The New England Journal of Medicine, researchers found that a full 6 months of supplementation with glucosamine and chondroitin was NO BETTER THAN A PLACEBO when it comes to reducing joint discomfort.

You certainly deserve better than mediocre in terms of results. (And even if anyone did want to settle for mediocrity, they'd have to take a MEGA dose of glucosamine and chondroitin to get it – that means 8 to 12 large capsules daily!)

2. One-Trick Ponies
There are some nutrients out there like curcumin, CBD, and collagen that may help with specific symptoms, such as joint discomfort. However, they don't fully tackle 3-point breakdown problems.

3. The "Dark Side" Masks
Many people turn to options like acetaminophen and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for joint discomfort. These are also just a different kind of mask for some of the symptoms, of course, and do nothing to address the underlying problems.

Meanwhile, the routine use of these drugs can have very serious consequences. For example, according to research published in the American Journal of Medicine and other sources, the ongoing use of NSAIDs has been associated with various negative health outcomes, such as GI discomfort, the enhanced risk for GI bleeding, hypertension, and more.

And then there are the VERY "dark side" masks that some resort to, the highly addictive opioids. As I'm sure you know, the opioid epidemic is now a public health emergency, claiming well over 45,000 lives per year.

4. Fairy Dusting
Here's a widespread – and rather despicable – practise amongst so many joint supplements. The companies that make them know the right ingredients that could actually help you… BUT they only add an insignificant amount just so they can promote that their product contains it! This is called fairy dusting, and in my view, it should be outlawed. Remember, the right quantities of the right ingredients matter in a big way!

5. Potential HARM
The ineffectiveness of typical joint supplements is one thing. The fact that they might be putting your health at risk is quite another. And yet, so many supplement makers do ZERO independent testings of their products to ensure they're free of harmful contaminants. Furthermore, many contain GMOs, artificial ingredients, and other JUNK that you don't want inside your body.

So, there is the information I thought maybe relevant for a lot of you. I'll provide the link so that you can read up on the information for yourselves. There's a lot of sales hyp of course but if you can get through that to the bare bones there's a lot of relevance in what he says. I found it most valuable. But, you decide for yourselves.

How to Eat Your Vegetables Raw (With No Gas or Bloating!)

Many people assume that all raw vegetables are good for them. But raw vegetables are only beneficial as a food source if you can digest them, which is more of a widespread issue than most people realize.

There are some vegetables that you will always want to consume cooked or fermented.

You can use the Veggie Culture Starter to ferment vegetables to enjoy at each meal. Eating cultured vegetables will help you to get even more benefits out of the raw vegetables you eat!

Additionally, some raw vegetables are better than others, so be careful with what you munch and learn to choose the best raw vegetables of the bunch.

Vegetables are nature’s most perfect foods and are also the most abundant foods on earth. They are alkaline-forming and rich with the vitamins and minerals needed to heal your body.

Raw vegetables are said to be enzyme-rich and are therefore widely believed to be an excellent source of enzymes that aid digestion. However, many people’s digestive systems are simply too weak to digest raw vegetables in spite of all their natural enzymes.

So my question to you is:

Are You Digesting Your Raw Vegetables?

Hypothyroidism: America’s silent epidemic

Is your weight gain and exhaustion caused by an underactive thyroid? Sometimes it can be hard to tell.
Today, I’d like to share with you 5 signs that your thyroid is impacting your health.

1. Unexplainable weight gain

You put on weight easily and struggle to lose it - no matter how much exercise you do or how clean you try to eat.

2. Extreme fatigue

Every day you wake up tired and go to sleep tired. You sometimes can’t even get out of bed… and in the afternoon, you can barely function.

3. Brain fog

Focusing on tasks is a real chore - much more so than in the past. It takes a lot out of you just to think about certain things, and concentrating is much harder than it should be.

4. Digestive problems

You’re often bloated, constipated, and have chronic gas. Digestive discomfort is so common for you that you think, “Oh this must just be what everyone feels.” I’m here to tell you - it’s not.

5. Emotional distress

You have mood swings and struggle with bouts of anxiety and depression. Sometimes it seems hopeless that there’s no way out of it.

If you struggle with 1 or more of these symptoms, it may be because of an underactive thyroid.

You see, your thyroid secretes hormones that control your metabolism.

And as you age, your thyroid can be damaged from both stress and toxins found in the standard American diet. So it stops secreting key metabolic hormones, which affects nearly every area of your health.

The most shocking part?

Experts estimate that more than 40% of the population have symptoms of low thyroid function…

The older you get, the more likely you are to suffer from a thyroid disorder…

And women are 500% - 800% more likely than men to have a thyroid disorder.

That is a blessing in this house, too. Jas needed to have a healthier lifestyle. He loves junk food. But for me, doesn't work, so I just have not been bringing it in the house. He doesn't seem to miss it! That's good.

With his back problem, he has to do exercises to strengthen his core. I have been telling this to him for a while. BUT today his male therapist told him, so now he's on a mission. LOL Go figure.

yeah, I've been learning a whole lot more about this body of mine as to why it's doing what it's doing and not doing. Specifically losing the weight I so badly need to lose along with the minor health issues I have. So, I've delved into finding out what makes me tick and am taking a course. Mainly it's all about our metabolism. Come to find out that each of us has a metabolism unique to our individuality and that being Post-Menaupoosal there are certain hormone types or levels.

Well, after doing the questionnaire, it turns out I am a level 6 and that I have a specific diet, vitamins and minerals to take daily and exercises I do according to my metabolic level that turns my body into a fat-burning machine. So, I am following this.
Turns out I was already eating right with doing my smoothie for breakfast in the morning, a huge salad for lunch and a protein, vegetable and starch for dinner. The only thing I had to do is add the starch. It isn't a very big portion either.

The only cardio exercise I need to do every day is one hour walks and every second-day tone.
So this I have been doing. The toning exercises I am doing so far are my wall pushups and squats. I have ordered a bar-bell set of 3, 5 & 8 pounds which I will ad tri-dep and bi-cep exercises once they get here. That's all. That's it!
I've taken my measurements and retake them once a week. This is week three for me and last week I lost a total of 2 inches from my midsection and an inch off of my hips. I don't take my measurements again now until Sunday morning.

And with eating right, and balancing my metabolism yeah my energy levels are even higher, and I'm sleeping better and deeper!

In essence, I have found my "fountain of youth" And, now I'm working on Walter's, which of course he doesn't know about. I already have him taking his specific vitamins and minerals. I have for the past four years because he's a smoker and susceptible to colds and flu every time they come around. He hasn't had a one since. So now it's more about getting him to eat properly. Which shouldn't be a real problem, because he already eats what I make. At least for dinners. So that is what I have been busy with.

So, I've delved into finding out what makes me tick. Mainly it's my metabolism. Come to find out that each of us has a metabolism unique to our individuality.
In doing so, I'm building a lifestyle from a deeper understanding of my own unique metabolism, psychology and personal preferences.

However, when most people think of the metabolism they think it works like this: I know I always have.
Eat less ---- Exercise ---- Lose weight ---- Have a balanced, healthy metabolism.

I'm learning that this is completely backwards. It actually works like this:
Balance the metabolism ---- Automatically eat less with a diet specifically tailored to your metabolism ---- Walk an hour every day ---- Tone every other day ---- Lose weight and get healthy.

See the difference? There is no generic, off-the-shelf diet or health regime that automatically leads to weight loss and optimal health.

That means you don’t find and choose a specific diet or program to follow; Keto, Weight Watchers, South Beach, Eat Right For Your Blood Type, Vegan, The Dash Diet, Jenny Craig, Low Carb, Paleo, The Mediterranean and even Dr. Joel Furhman's Eat To Live. Did I miss any? Not that I'm dissing or belittling any of them. Heck, I've about tried them all myself had success but then regained some if not all of my weight because they each and every one lack that super key that is needed; working with my metabolic specifications. The only one that comes close is Dr. Furhman's Eat To Live. So I was on the right track four years ago.

What I'm learning is to stop being the dieter and learn how to be my own metabolic detective. Having had a complete hysterectomy 7 years ago, throwing me into full-blown Menopause and now being Post Menopausal has unbalanced my hormones.

And, of course, like most women instinctually know that their hormones influence their weight so do I. However, I've learned that it's not the hormones we think.

Yes, it's true that estrogen and progesterone - the hormones most intimately related to our menstrual cycle - are important. But, come to find out they are not the hormones most important for fat-burning or fat-storing.
In fact, estrogen and progesterone account for the smallest part of the female hormones.
It is actually the insulin; the fat-storing hormone, the king of fat loss hormones and cortisol; the stress hormone that are the primary hormones that influence our ability to burn fat!
Next, it is our thyroid; our metabolic manager and adrenals, our metabolic gas pedal.
And then last but not least is our estrogen our growth hormone and progesterone our unrecognized step-sister. Meaning that they need each other because they balance each other. And in that order. Why, because even though they do influence the other hormones, they are not as important as the others.

So, yeah, what I have learned so far has really been an eye-opener.

I've learned that yes estrogen and progesterone do impact fat loss, but not in the way we think they do. Although they are not our primary fat loss hormones. They are important.

Insulin, cortisol, thyroid and our adrenals are also essential. Insulin being the King of fat loss hormones. Estrogen makes us more insulin sensitive.

-- Insulin: The Fat Storer is most strongly influenced by carbohydrates and overconsumption of food, both of which cause a detrimental increase in blood sugar.

-- Cortisol: The Stress Hormone, is secreted from the adrenal glands and actually has a split personality. Acute stressors cause a short-term increase in this hormone. It primes the body for either fight or flight in stressful situations. can also lead to fat gain. Estrogen and Progesterone protect us from that acting as buffers.

-- Thyroid: The Metabolic Manager helps manage the body's metabolic processors, including our fat-burning potential. This hormone is also keenly sensitive to our daily lifestyle choices, including sleep (how long and how deep), nutrition (types and amounts), stress (acute or chronic)
Out thyroid is like a gas pedal on our metabolism. It defines the speed at which it runs. Balanced hormones affect our thyroid positively.

-- Adrenals: The Metabolic Gas Pedal also plays a role in stress and fat gain. Again estrogen and progesterone protect us against it.
Epinephrine and norepinephrine, referred to as catecholamines, along with cortisol get secreted from the adrenal glands any time we are stressed. This happens especially when we exercise. The catecholamines are what tells the body to get ready to burn fat signalling the other hormones like HGH, cortisol, and testosterone to go into fat-burning mode. However, we want these turned on during exercise but turned off during rest.

-- Estrogen is related to fat loss in complex ways. Although it helps with weight loss overall It actually causes fat retention in certain tissues like the butt, hips, thighs and breasts. But, it helps to burn belly fat!

-- Progesterone: Estrogen's Unrecognized Stepsister, doesn't really get the attention it deserves. However, it is a sister to Estrogen in that they need each other. They balance each other.
Estrogen sends the growth signals to the breasts, uterine lining and other areas. Progesterone comes along and says "Whoa, not to much growth all at once."
But Progesterone has other effects on us women as well. Particularly when we are stressed. When Progesterone is out of balance, the first thing we notice is we become more reactive to stress because stress causes drops in Progesterone causing a maladaptive stress response, creating a vicious cycle.
The important takeaway here is to know that Progesterone doesn't impact fat loss directly but indirectly through its effects on cortisol and estrogen.

I know that this may seem all a little complicated but it certainly helped me to understand what was going on in my body and learning to live, eat and exercise in a way that is in tune with my metabolic hormones and turn this not losing weight into a fat-burning body!

Everybody poops

Poop is mostly bacteria — NOT OLD FOOD

Poop is not just a laughing matter. The scientists and doctors who study feces have found that it's the byproduct of a diverse community of bacteria in your gut that impacts your health in all sorts of ways. Paying closer attention to your stool can tell you about the condition of these vital bacteria — and your overall health.

There are many benefits to quitting or limiting sugar such as: an increased immune system, weight reduction, more stable moods, less bad bacteria in our gut, improved sleep and so many more!

Dear Friends,

I want to talk to you today about sugar. I was neve4r really a sweets lover or lover of sugar but still realized that I was consuming too much; desserts mostly. Quitting sugar was one of the best health decisions I have made for myself. I noticed results immediately. Now that I'm many years into my sugar journey, I've come to a place where I can enjoy a piece of cake or a cookie and not have it send me into a spiral. At first, I really needed to stop sugar altogether, but now I can simply curb it and not be pulled back into its web.

It is important to limit sugar as much as possible for many reasons: Sugar depletes our immune system, and too much sugar will cause us to be acidic, which is very health-depleting. Sugar is also very inflammatory, causing widespread inflammation throughout our body (inflammation is connected to every chronic health issue we know). It is also highly addictive, causing us to crave more and more, which sets up a cycle that can be hard to stop. Digestion is affected in a negative way as sugar causes an imbalance of good and bad bacteria, which has many different symptoms: gas, bloating, irritable bowel syndrome-like symptoms. Lastly, sugar is very age-promoting due to the fact that it causes the glycosylation of proteins, which causes wrinkling and sagging of skin.

How do we avoid sugar as it seems to be in everything?!

By staying away from obvious sugary foods (candy, baked goods, most desserts, soda, junk food), highly refined and processed foods, and then by reading labels to identify added sugars in foods. This can be tricky because there are so many names for sugar. In lesson two we review all forms and names of hidden sugars so that you can be totally informed and more easily make the best choices.

Are there any natural healthy sweeteners we can use as a substitute, and how do you address this in the course?

Absolutely! There are plenty of natural healthy sweeteners that can be used to sweeten beverages, desserts, baked goods, and recipes where a little sweetness enhances the dish. My favourite is Truvia but there are others like raw and organic honey, organic applesauce, monk fruit, date sugar, and coconut sugar. Also, using fruit by itself is a great way to naturally sweeten a recipe.

What benefits do we receive by avoiding or limiting sugar in our diets?

There are so, so many, and they are life-changing, to say the least! You can expect to feel more energetic, see a reduction in weight, have better digestion, better sleep, and a stronger immune system. You will also see the benefit of having more steady, consistent energy throughout the day without those peaks and dips, and, of course, your cravings will go away too.

Most people I know get sugar cravings at some point during the day. Why does this happen to our body?

Besides having a diet that's heavy in sugar (eating sugar causes you to crave more sugar), several lifestyle and dietary factors can cause you to crave sugar. If your diet is too carb-heavy, you will crave sugar. Stress and hormone imbalances, nutritional deficiencies such as magnesium, zinc, and B-vitamins can also lead to cravings. If your diet is too salty, you may crave the opposite, which is sweet. Proper sleep and drinking plenty of water will also help curb sugar cravings as well. Finally, gut dysbiosis, which is an imbalance of good and bad gut bacteria, can cause cravings because sugar is food for bad bacteria!

Does avoiding sugar mean cutting out natural sugars in fruit, veggies, and dairy products?

Definitely not! Foods with naturally occurring sugars, like fruits, some veggies, and dairy products are nutrient-dense because they also contain many health-promoting nutrients and break down to sugar at a slower rate. Foods that contain natural sugars when eaten in balance with other healthy foods are always health-promoting. Get your sweet fix with these guys.

Ultralow-glycemic fruits like berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries) are low in sugar and high in antioxidants and fibre, making them the best choice in the fruit category, and organic, unsweetened kefir, a fermented dairy product, is low in sugar, high in protein and good fats, and rich in health-promoting probiotics. Combine the two, and you have a great way to start your day!

Understanding Migraine Symptoms

What Is a Migraine?

Migraine is a complex disorder that can be debilitating for some sufferers who experience severe pain and associated symptoms. A migraine attack can last from several hours to several days. The pain is often described as throbbing, pounding, or pulsating. It is usually confined to one side of the head, although it can shift from one side to the other or affect the whole head. The other symptoms depend on what type of migraine the person is experiencing. The frequency of migraine attacks can vary from two or three a year to two or more a week. When they occur 15 or more days in a month, they are termed chronic migraines.

Sometimes it can be difficult to distinguish a migraine from a severe tension headache. The following chart highlights some differences between the two headache types.

Migraine headache symptoms
Anyone who has experienced a migraine knows they’re painful. These intense headaches can cause:

nausea
vomiting
sensitivity to sounds
sensitivity to smells
sensitivity to light
changes in vision
If you experience sporadic migraines, the headache and symptoms may last only a day or two. If you suffer from chronic migraines symptoms may occur 15 days or more each month.

What causes migraines?
Migraine headaches are a bit of a mystery. Researchers have identified possible causes, but they don’t have a definitive explanation. Potential theories include:

An underlying central nervous disorder may set off a migraine episode when triggered.
Irregularities in the brain’s blood vessel system, or vascular system, may cause migraines.
A genetic predisposition may cause migraines
Abnormalities of brain chemicals and nerve pathways may cause migraine episodes.

What can trigger a migraine
Unfortunately, scientists have yet to identify a cause. The best way to avoid migraines is to avoid what starts them in the first place. Migraine trigger are unique to each person, and it’s not uncommon for a person to have several migraine triggers. The most common migraine triggers include:

Food
Salty foods or aged foods, such as cheese and salami, may cause migraine headaches. Highly processed foods can also trigger a migraine.

Skipping meals
People with a history of migraines shouldn’t skip meals or fast, unless it’s done under a doctor’s supervision.

Drink
Alcohol and caffeine may cause these headaches.

Preservatives and sweeteners
Some artificial sweeteners, such as aspartame, can trigger a migraine. The popular preservative monosodium glutamate (MSG) can, as well. Read labels to avoid them.

Sensory stimulation
Unusually bright lights, loud noises, or strong smells, may set off a migraine headache; flashlights, bright sun, perfume, paint, and cigarette smoke, are all common triggers.

Hormonal changes
Hormone shifts are a common migraine trigger for women. Many women report developing migraine headaches right before or even during their period. Others report hormone-induced migraines during pregnancy or menopause. That’s because estrogen levels change during these time and can trigger a migraine episode.

Hormone medications
Medications, such as birth control and hormone replacement therapies, can trigger or worsen a migraine. However, in some cases, these medicines can actually reduce a woman’s migraine headaches.

Other medications
Vasodilators, such as nitroglycerin, can trigger a migraine.

Stress
Constant mental stress can cause migraines. Home life and work life are two of the most common sources of stress and can damage your mind and body if you can’t control it effectively.

Physical stress
Extreme exercise, physical exertion, and even sexual activity can trigger migraine headaches.

Sleep cycle changes
If you’re not getting regular, routine sleep, you may experience more migraines. Don’t bother trying to “make up” for lost sleep on the weekends, either. Too much sleep is just as likely to cause a headache as too little.

Weather changes
What Mother Nature is doing outside may affect how you feel on the inside. Changes in weather and shifts in barometric pressure can trigger a migraine.

Factors that increase your risk for migraines
Not everyone exposed to migraine triggers will develop a headache. However, some people are more sensitive to them. Several risk factors can help predict who is more prone to having migraine headaches. These risk factors include:

Age
Migraines can first appear at any age. However, most people will experience their first migraine during adolescence. According to the Mayo Clinic, migraines usually improve after age 30.

Family history
If a close family member has migraines, you’re more likely to have them. In fact, 90 percent of migraine patients have a family history of migraines. Parents are the best predictor of your risk. If one or both of your parents have a history of migraines, your risk is higher.

Gender
During childhood, boys experience migraine headaches more than girls. After puberty, however, women are three times more likely to have migraines than men.

What Complaining Does to the Brain and Body

I was actually surprised even shocked when I read this today!

Sometimes, we feel like we just need to vent. After a tough day, ranting to your friends and family can be a relief.

Unfortunately, complaining can do more harm than good. In addition to influencing your friends’ moods, complaining can actually affect your body. Frequent complaining brings physiological changes, such as stress and poor sleep.

Most noticeably, complaining actually changes the way the brain functions.

Our Best Defense

Sooner or later, we all have to put COVID 19 behind us, stop being fearful, and giving in to the fear-mongering of MSM. I've turned off the TV but I'm still seeing too much on FB. I've had to unfollow those that continue passing on fear. Dr. Jack Wolfson has done many webinars keeping us updated and offering lots of tips on building up our immune system. I suggest going back and watching them again if you are continuing to be fearful. Focus on what he has taught us. It's all about building up your immune system, making good choices. At some point, we all need to get back to normal life. When we do, we all need to continue with the supplements that keep our immune systems humming along. It's our best defence. This is the best list for doing so.

I use 1 part ACV, 2 parts olive oil and add spices -- garlic and onion powder, italian dressing. OR sometimes I'll add a good brown mustard and shake it up good.

Wjen I was taking the ACV straight, I put it in warm water.

I don't put it in any food. I drink 2 capfuls in a 16-ounce glass of water every morning before I do anything else.

I love all of these foods and do have a fine cholesterol.

LOVE ACV, also. Use it everyday on my veggies and salad.

Imagine if there was a "swiss army knife" of health that could:
Increase energy
Cut excess pounds
And protect your heart
... or in other words — put you on the path to a more active, longer life.

Well, it turns out there’s a powerful — and unusual — whole-body health trick that could do exactly that…

And best of all, it’s likely sitting in your kitchen right now.

I'm talking about Apple Cider Vinegar.

Apple cider vinegar — or ACV — is commonly associated with zesty marinades and tangy dressings…

But amazingly, it’s also one of the best combinations of fat-burning acids and longevity nutrients out there…

… and hardly anyone knows about it.

So to let you in on the secret, I put together a quick list of my favorite ACV benefits — and the science behind them all, too.

Note: After, I’ll tell you the delicious way I take my ACV.

ACV Kickstarts Energy and Stops Soreness

ACV is perfect for both before and after the gym…

Why? Because it’s chock-full of acetic acid, the “good acid” that helps your muscles turn carbs into sustainable, healthy energy.1 Not a bad way to start a workout.

And when you're done working out, ACV also has vitamins that reduce lactic acid — the culprit behind sore, worn down muscles.2

That’s why for a great pre-workout and recovery... I always “bookend” with ACV.

ACV Helps You Shed Pounds

Remember that energizing “good acid” we were talking about — acetic acid?

Well, studies have shown in addition to giving you an energy boost… acetic acid also increases fat burn.3

I love pouring a little ACV on my salad. For one, it makes a garden salad even healthier… and its natural tangy flavor makes it extra delicious, too. What's not to love?

ACV Boosts Longevity

This is my favorite ACV benefit… because it fights what I call the three “highs” —

High blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar…

… and when you do that, you significantly reduce your risk for heart disease — the #1 killer of Americans.

Now that’s something to cheers to.

ACV is certainly a powerhouse of health benefits. In my book, it's right up there with with water. And it just so happens the two go great together.

That’s why each day, I mix a tablespoon of ACV with 16 ounces of my favorite kind of water — seltzer water.

As a final touch, I’ll spritz a little lime over the top. Its fizzy, flavorful taste reminds me of a soda, but with a twist…

… to see what I’m talking about, you’ll just have to try it.

So whether you want to take your ACV with a sparkling seltzer… a garden salad… or as a “straight shot”… (some people actually love it!)

ACV puts us all on the path to our longest, healthiest lives possible.

Top 5 Foods to Kick High Cholesterol

Heart disease is the world’s leading cause of death.

Having high cholesterol levels, especially “bad” LDL, is linked to an increased risk of heart disease. Low levels of the “good” HDL cholesterol and high triglyceride measures are also linked to increased risk.

While many people resort to harsh drugs to combat cholesterol, those in the know realize that your diet has a powerful effect on cholesterol levels and other cardiovascular risk factors.

Here are 5 of the top foods that can lower cholesterol and improve heart health naturally:
Legumes: Legumes, also known as pulses, are a group of plant foods that includes beans, peas and lentils. Legumes contain a lot of fiber, minerals and protein. Replacing some refined grains and processed meats in your diet with legumes can lower your risk of heart disease.

Avocados: Avocados are an exceptionally nutrient-dense fruit. They're a rich source of monounsaturated fats and fiber — two nutrients that help lower “bad” LDL and raise “good” HDL cholesterol.

Fish: Fatty fish, such as salmon and mackerel, are excellent sources of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3s bolster heart health by increasing “good” HDL cholesterol and lowering inflammation and stroke risk.

Berries: Many fruits contain bioactive compounds that help prevent heart disease and other chronic diseases due to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Eating berries and grapes, which are particularly rich sources of these plant compounds, can help increase “good” HDL and lower “bad” LDL cholesterol.

Turmeric: The medicinal properties of turmeric's active ingredient, curcumin, have been recognized for centuries, and is a very promising natural remedy for inflammation, high cholesterol and heart disease.
One study used turmeric on a group of subjects with metabolic syndrome for 12 weeks. The patients showed a significant improvement in levels of “good” HDL, and a dramatic reduction in “bad” cholesterol, with a notable triglyceride-lowering effect.

Another study on patients with type 2 diabetes showed significant reductions in serum levels of total cholesterol and elevations in HDL cholesterol, re-balancing the overall blood lipid profile.

So turmeric clearly holds major promise in the fight against high cholesterol.

If you're over the age of 40, you have probably noticed that your diet isn't working for you the way it did when you were in your 20's and 30's. Maybe a pasta and bread dinner now result in a bloated belly, and a pound or 2 extra on the scale the next morning? That afternoon cup of joe now keeps you up all night? That late-night snack before bed results in an agonizing bout of heartburn? Or you get tired after lunch, and need coffee or something sweet for a pick-me-up? You're not alone. We're 40, and things just got real!

Turning 40 is a major milestone to be celebrated, and it's also a good time for a dietary assessment. Unfortunately, the days of getting away with gorging on junk food, carb binges, and endless happy hours are over, but even our normal diets seem to affect us differently after 40. Why is this? Plain and simple, your body just doesn't process these foods the way they used to due to changes in your hormones that affect your metabolism and digestion.

Here's a helpful list of the primary changes your body goes through in your 40's due to these hormonal changes:
Metabolism slows down.
Muscle mass decreases.
Body fat increases, especially around the middle area.
Naturally, become more insulin resistant (we can't burn off carbs).
The stress hormone cortisol increases (causing more belly fat).
Digestive enzymes decrease (causing gas, bloating and acid reflux).
Collagen decreases (skin starts to show signs of ageing).
Hair starts to thin and become more brittle.
Forgetful moments increase.
"Shrinkage" may be experienced due to diminished bone density.
It's also important to be aware that the risk of these chronic health conditions increases:
Heart Disease.
Certain cancers.
Autoimmune Disorders.
While, yes, this seems like an alarming and long list, the good news is - by tweaking your diet and lifestyle, you can actually reverse or prevent all these issues.

How To Feel Fabulous In Your 40's... and Beyond!

Your dietary and lifestyle choices make all the difference in how your wellness story will play out. After the age of 40, you can't get away with those fun dietary and lifestyle discretions of the past as easily. That's not to say that you're doomed to eating boring, tasteless food and should have no fun or social life. It just means that if you want to sail through your 40's and beyond feeling and looking your best, you'll need to make some dietary and lifestyle adjustments.

THIS IS WHY!!!!

I found something today, listened to it and found it to be a REAL EYE-OPENER.

Maybe some of you are already aware of this but I certainly wasn't!

AMPK:
THE METABOLIC "MASTER SWITCH"

There is, of course, the product for sale but most importantly and above all, I wanted to get this information to you.

This was a game-changer for me this morning!

Please give it a serious listen.

It is very simple, but I also want to add, a bandana probably isn't the best material for this. Yes, you want something breathable, but you also want something that will help filter the air you breathe in and protect you from anything entering through your mouth and nose.
