NOMORE: You go, girl!!! Great goal. I got my kick in the pants when I was 56, and my 60's (I'm 66) have really been healthier than my 30's, 40's or 50's! It feels good to be able to do what I need/want to do and definitely, the main goal, maintaining independence!

Good morning ladies, Just to catch up here. Yesterday was a very, very full day for me. Although I'm still being that detective and figuring out the few kinks I seem to have my eating and exercising and moving is on track. I went for my hour walk and then the remainder of the morning was spent doing household; Summer cleaning; pitch and toss and reorganizing 7 rooms. (up at 5 am) The afternoon was spent outdoors overhauling my front and side-front yards; mowing, weeding, raking, shovelling and hauling dirt. I put in my 10,000 steps trust me Actually it was 12,794 by end of the day and I literally flopped into bed! Now that my house is tip top the back yards get it today.

Oh, and I am very happy to report that I have now lost a total of 8 inches! So much so that I can get into my Reg 18 jeans! No more 20W!!!! Sorry, No photos until the end of the month. And now this morning I've had already been for my hour's walk. Just got back in fact.

This is now my daily norm. And Lovin' it!

Rise and Shine 5:00 am

First 2 glasses of water drank One with ACV
One cup of coffee with bone broth and Turmeric

Already into my daily household routine.

7:30 I'm out the door for my morning hour walk.

8:30 I put together my power smoothie for breakfast:

2 cups Almond Breeze, 1 cup mixed berries; strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, cranberries, one small banana, 1 scoop Whey protein and 1 scoop Super Greens. (Digestive Enzymes 2 capsules)

Lunch is a power salad: 2 cups Romaine lettuce, 10 Tim tomatoes cut in half, diced cucumber, diced red onion, 2 grated carrots, 2 diced radishes, 2 ounces mixed nuts and seeds, black olives (in water) and 1/4 cup diced Havarti Jalapeno cheese. (Digestive Enzymes 2 capsules)

3:00 I'm pon my step climber for a half hour.

6:00 Dinner is my serving of protein and a serving of starch. (Digestive Enzymes 2 capsules)

A total number of steps per day usually 10,000 + now. And my 8 glasses of water downed!

I am SO IMPRESSED right now! This is only my 5th-day of Phase 1 of a new program I am doing being postmenopausal and I thought "I'm going to take my measurements because I felt something had already changed. At least around my hips and mid-drift because right now my obsession is to lose the inches off my belly. I've lost 3 full inches off my mid-drift and 1" off my hips! WOOT!!! WOOT!!!! YES!!! FINALLY RESULTS!

Phew, that felt absolutely powerful! After drinking my first glasses of water this was my first 30-minute treadmill this morning! I love my mornings. Not a soul around. Just the rustling of the leaves and my company of redwing blackbirds, robins, crows, magpie and a herd of cows in the neighbouring field. Now, I'm enjoying my breakfast smoothie, have my water metered out for the rest of the day and lunch and dinner already preplanned.

Did you resolve to get healthy in 2020? Sure you have. We all have or we wouldn't be here....yet again, still.

LOVE salmon and chicken in my morning omelets w/lots of veggies!

That advice about avoiding water till at least 1 hr. after eating is a good one! I loved to have water w/my meal but . . . I was getting indigestion. Found out that it dilutes the stomach acid, so it doesn’t do it’s job as effectively. Good reminder.

I’m in!

PHASE 3 (Day 3)Re-Activating Your Digestion

PHASE 2 (Day 2) Anti-Inflammation Nutrition

Phase 2 is all about taking your inflammation down a noticeable notch. Today you will accomplish this by using the following 13 steps.
Follow these steps in this exact order they are listed and keep it simple. Remember there are only 48hours left!
STEP #1 Wake up
STEP #2 Drink 32 oz of purified water with fresh lemon juice

PHASE 1 (Day 1)Reactivating Your Digestion
Phase 1 is all about reactivating your digestion. Today you will accomplish this by using the following 12 steps. Follow these steps in this exact order they are listed and keep it simple. Remember this is only 72 hours!

STEP #1 Wake up
STEP #2 Drink 32 oz of purified water with fresh lemon juice
STEP #3 walk briskly for 30 minutes OR do a short workout
STEP #4 Optional But Recommended)Take 1 Probiotic
STEP #5 -Drink 16Oz of purified water
STEP #6 Prepare your dinner from below in a crockpot
STEP #7 Shower up and go to work OR whatever you do
NOTE: Do not eat any foods until dinner which means you probably wanna bring 64+oz of water with you throughout the day. If you hungry, have another sip of water. Also, please be smart about this, if you get light-headed or completely run out of energy have a piece of fruit so you can feel ok.

NOTE: Make Enough For Leftovers You’ll Eat Them On Day 3Take a crockpot or if you don't have a crockpot you can use a large pan and mix the following together:
-2lbs Boneless Chicken Breast Or Thighs (I prefer thighs)
-1 Stalk Of Celery Chopped (Or your favourite veggies)
-5-8 Carrots Chopped (Or your favourite veggies)
-32-48oz Chicken Stock (Preferably Organic With Minimal Ingredients)
Set on low and leave on for the day. If you're using a regular pan it’s best to have someone home to check on it. After 6-8 hours turn the pot to warm and let cool down so you can eat it for dinner.
STEP #10 -After dinner relax by reading a book or watching a light TV show.
STEP #11 -Please avoid alcohol or sugar after dinner and wait at least 60minutes after dinner before consuming water
STEP #12 -Go to bed early so you can get a good night sleep

YOUR SHOPPING LIST:

Here is a simple shopping list for you that covered everything you will need for the next 3 days. This is enough to cover 1 person, if your having more then 1person then make sure to adjust the list appropriately. If at all possible please make sure these ingredients are minimally processed and organic or even better pasture-raised.

PROTEIN:-2lbs Boneless chicken breast or thighs (I prefer thighs)-6-12oz Organic chicken, grass-fed beef or wild-caught salmon-1 Day wort of protein for breakfast (eggs *provided you do well with them, sausage, smoked salmon, omelet, etc)

VEGGIES:-Green leafy veggies (Spinach, lettuce, kale sprouts etc.)-Your favourite salad toppings; Artichoke hearts, olives, avocado, cabbage, carrots, celery, cucumber, etc. (NO grains, legumes or dairy please)-1 Stalk of celery chopped (Or your favourite soup veggies)-5-8 carrots chopped (Or your favourite soup veggies)

OK, we've all been here before, some of us have never left but struggle with perseverance. Like any pathway to change, success with becoming the healthiest you, you can be, depends on taking full action and sticking with it. So many start and stop. Those who take full action coupled with a combined commitment to success, WIN, PERIOD.

The secret key to success is being smart with goal setting.

Be specific. Knowing exactly what you want starts with having a clear vision.

Set a measurable timeline in reaching your goal.

Make a definite commitment to yourself, to promise 100 percent in achieving that goal.

Be realistic. Be fair and kind to yourself. Don't set yourself up for disappointment by setting unrealistic goals that are impossible to achieve.

Be timely. Goals shouldn't be open-ended. Setting a timeline will give you the motivation to meet this timeline by working harder and staying on track. With setting a finish line, something not in the too far distant future to move closer to every day.

A SMART goal is a rock-solid, no loopholes goal that leaves no room for excuses or deviation, other than your choice not to fully commit in doing your best.

For example,

I _______________ will commit to becoming the healthiest me I can be by following ( your choice of weight loss program) for 30 days. My starting date is ___________
and by being physically active Monday, Wednesday and Friday's; walking (your choice of cardio) for one hour a day starting, __________.

Now, you've set your smart goals and know exactly what you want to achieve over the next 30 days. To help keep these goals at the forefront, top of mind and yourself focused, write them down and stick it above your bed, on your bedroom mirror on the refrigerator, paint a visual picture of how great you're going to look and feel. See your self working toward that goal. See your efforts and diligence, the short-term fulfillment and the long-term results. These constant reminders will help to keep you on track and win over any tactics or excuses you might be tempted to lean on.

Picture the moment when at the end of that 30th day and what you have succeeded in accomplishing. Feel the pride.

The second week in and not doing to badly with diet and water intake. I've been staying within 1200-1300 calories a day and making sure I get my 8-9 glasses of water drank. Because I have a sedentary job where I sit at a desk for 80-90% of the day I've set my goal of steps per day to be 5,000. I have been faithful to it.

I'm still to apprehensive to step on any scales for numbers as of yet or to take my measurements. I think I will wait to do that until the end of each month.

Time to get serious folks. We're mid-way into the winter months when I find the weather and colder temperatures really play havoc. I am looking for all 8 of us but I'll take as many as possible who are concerned about their health. mentally. emotionally and physical; weight and exercising... It is much easier to commit to a short-term challenge with smaller goals. I myself need to really challenge myself heading into and to pull out of a winter funk and keep my butt in gear. I need dedicated Friends who want the same and are willing to join me and meet with me by being totally committed, sticking with it.

1. POSTING as often as possible will help keep you accountable, not just posting your achievements but also your difficulties and obstacles,

2. Post a picture of selfie Day 1 (does not have to include face) can be from the neck down or just your tummy, butt, whatever you are comfortable with You may post a progress picture each week at weigh-in if you like.

3. It starts on Jan 2nd.

This is designed to help keep us motivated and true to our commitment to.

Your Personal Self Challenge and Accountability.

Accountability is so important, without it you will probably end up quitting. This is why It will be a must that everyone will check in as often as possible. If one of us does not post, I'd like everyone participating to spark-mail, that member to encourage and inspire them to keep going.

I am trying to be a healthier me. This last Thursday, I had a couple of procedures done and hopefully that will help or eliminate my "gastro" problems. emoticon

Went to the retina specialist today and got a good report. Everything is improving which helps. Eyesight is so important to all of us. emoticon

Next is the heart doctor. They called and left a message. I haven't seen this one before but have heard good things about him. Not having any problems but haven't had the heart emoticon checked for two or 3 years so it's time.

Guess it will be time to start over again after that.

I'm doing much better on my water emoticon eliminating Dr. Peppers emoticon Down to no more than 2 a day and somedays only 1. emoticon

I am really working to eat healthier, exercise more and make better choices. emoticon

Hope you are having a wonderful day. Mine was pretty good. Went to church and worked from 10 - 2:15. Accomplished a lot. Trying really hard to get things organized and made a great start today. The 14th is when I really hit the ground running. Our Back to Choir party is on Aug. 14th. No work that night...simply eat, socialize and afterwards discussion and decisions on the direction of the choir and jobs for the ones that want to help! Hope that's a good number of people. Watching Astros and they are ahead right now.

Take care of yourself and avoid the stress. I am trying to do the same. I'm really not stressed at work but my energy takes a nosedive when I get home.
