THE TRUTH ABOUT HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP

The article says that even though the body processes sugar and High Fructose Corn Syrup differently (sugar is slow and HFCS is quick), it doesn't affect how our body makes insulin, leptin, ghrelin, or blood glucose levels! Interesting!

Rushing out the door for a minor surgery but wanted to get this done - no idea how I'll be doing after the procedure.

I rolled a one which moves me to square #17 - Organized something isn't.

I won't be feeling like doing much so I think I'll organize my invoices - ensure all payments are up to date, cull old invoices , file what needs to be filed.

This may not sound like much but I tend to pay my bills, make a note on both my electronic file & the paper doc then stuff the paper doc into a folder...I sometimes have any many as 4-5 old invoices in there. If nothing else, it will make me feel better to see a slimmer folder and know all invoices are up to date.

A normal RHR is between 60 and 100. The lower end is healthier. It tell you how to determine that rate, but my Fitbit shows me mine!

Well, I kinda messed up Friday's dice roll...my 2 should have placed me on the Water icon square - drink 2 extra waters. Fortunately, I had done so (actually 4 cups) so no harm, no foul maybe. Anyway, I really DID need to finish those taxes so maybe the universe was directing my attention !

Saturday's roll was a 3 which brought me to the Spark logo - read an article.

I've always been a big believer in the benefits of routine...and an organization freak, as well.
Over this past year, however, life has conspired to interfere consistently and I essentially lost my routine.
Consequently, I've just floated along feeling lost and every aspect of my life has noticeably suffered. I am in the process of re-establishing a routine...a bit different from before...and this article re-enforces my determination.

This morning's roll is another 3 which is to add 2 freggie servings to my day. Perhaps another instance of the universe exerting some control - I'm supposed to up my green veggie intake to 9-11 each day.
For today's challenge, I think I'll add a small green salad to my breakfast and a Zucchini sandwich to my lunch.

This morning's roll is extremely appropo for me - I rolled a 2 which placed me on the #4 square -complete a task which you've been putting off.

Well, I've procrastinated mightily and have yet to do my taxes. This week, I began pulling together my docs, researching to fill in data holes, etc.

Today, I planned to load the software and make my first run to identify missing items, issues...fingers crossed there are none !!

Dolly - that cracked me up!!!

I rolled a 6 and landed on #8. Fix a freggie snack for today. Didn't really have time for a snack today so I traded out chips with my sandwich I picked up after class with a big dill pickle instead. It was very satisfying.

Rolled a 2, landed on spark- Read a SparkPeople article and post about it on this thread ....I read an article about finding what works for you....realizing that different things work for different people and to use trial and error to find what works for you. Also as we age we need to do more weight training and not as much cardio. I have gotten back to weights finally and it feels good.

Do you like playing Monopoly? We kind of had some fun changing that game to use during April Foolishness month. Introducing the FSC’s Healthopoly Game! You will need 1 dice to play this game. (If you don’t have one, put numbers 1 – 6 into a hat and draw your “dice roll” daily) Here is the game board:



If you have trouble reading it or would like to print it out, it is posted on my SparkPage (HONEYLEA) in the pictures. Click on the picture, copy and paste it to a Word or PPT document and you can enlarge and print the board.

TO PLAY: Start on GO. Each day roll the die to move your way clockwise around the board. Then do what is listed on the space you land on. Here is the list of tasks for the spaces on the boards.

GO: When you pass GO, you earn one splurge item. This could be anything you think is a splurge.

PROPERTIES: All properties are listed with a red number. Match it with the listed numbers below to get your daily challenge.

1. Do 10 Wall Push-ups

2. Have a favorite beverage

3. Crack yourself up! Tell a joke, watch a comedy or just laugh out loud.

4. Complete a task that you have been putting off like cleaning out your purse or wallet or sorting through some old pictures.

5. Do 2 minutes of jumping - jumping jacks, jump rope, etc. If unable, do 2 minutes of seated exercise.

6. Do 10 minutes of meditation.

7. Go to bed at least 30 minutes earlier than usual.

8. Fix a freggie snack for today.

9. Pay yourself a compliment. Say it in the mirror. Write it down and put it where you can see it.

10. Find a new recipe to try this week.

11. Do 10 minutes of strength training today.

12. Track ALL of your food and stay within your calorie range.

13. Shake your booty! Dance to 2 songs.

14. Cut out a soda or caffeinated beverage today.

15. Make dinner an event.

16. Greet everyone with a smile today. It is contagious!

17. Organize something that isn't - your desk, bills, closet, DVDs, etc.

18. Hold the salt. Try to cut down on your normal sodium intake.

19. Stretch. Stretch the stress out of your muscles.

20. Stop eating 2 hours before bedtime.

21. Practice good posture all day.

22. Challenge any FSC member to a throw down challenge.


Add two servings of freggies to your meal plan today

No junk food for at least 3 days

Take a walk.

Do 30 minutes of exercise (doesn’t have to be all at once)

Add two servings of water to your goal today

Read a SparkPeople article and post about it on this thread

Relax. Take at least 30 minutes for yourself. Enjoy!

Add freggies to your meal plan so that you have at least one meatless meal today or tomorrow.
