Ten reasons to lose weight
1. take pressure off my knee to avoid surgery
2. reduce blood test numbers to get Dr off my back about taking meds
3. keep the pre-diabetes from turning into type 2 (and the meds, again!)
4. be able to shop in the regular size section
5. shop for a new wardrobe that I like instead of what fits & I can tolerate
6. DH - will need to be in good shape if his PD progresses
7. See Eli grow up (and any other grands that come along)
8. travel, be able to walk easily to see sights
9. look good for HS reunion next year.
10. Be happy and proud of myself again. Weight makes me depressed

10 Reasons I Want to Lose Weight: NOT NECESSARILY IN THIS ORDER!

1. I want to be healthy as long as I live.
2. I want to be able to move and do the things I need and want to do.
3. I want to be able to wear cute clothes that look good on me.
4. I want to have more energy.
5. I want to be an example of someone who strives to be healthy for my hubby, my children, my grandchildren, and my great-grandchild
6 I want to be a good example of a Christian and not a glutton.
7. l.want to eat clean and not crave junk foods.
8. I want to feel the way I felt when I was the correct weight.
9. I want to avoid diabetes
10 I want to avoid Alzheimer's (which my mother had) and they are saying now that it is
diabetes of the brain.


I want to lose enough weight and get strong enough to do a PULL UP!
I want to improve my balance and lose so I can ride a bicycle again.
I have a pair of size 9 jeans that I wore 20 years ago (they have a 28" waist and now that they have put in "vanity sizing" that waist measurement could be any size because apparently there is no standard anymore) I will know I am "there" when I can put my body into those jeans, HAHAHAH. And they aren't stretch jeans!
I want to get out of the PLUS SIZED BLOUSES! NO MORE 1X!
I want to step up my activity
I want to keep my momentum going and be proud of my consistency

Today's assignment is to list 10 reasons you want to lose weight. What do you want to change? How do you want to look? How do you want to feel? What things will you be able to do in the future with a slimmer healthier body? And list all the OTHER things that you want to change!

1. To be as healthy as I can be.
2. To be comfortable in my clothes.
3. To be proud of myself for achieving my goal.
4. To have more energy for playing with my Daisy girl.
5. To be more comfortable sitting in the airline during my long trip to Norway this summer.
6. To live long enough to see my grandchildren get married.
7. To finally be able to use the kayak I bought for myself 8 years ago.
8. To join my children in the Thanksgiving Day walk/run (I would be the one walking).
9. To enjoy my traveling more.

Today's assignment is to list 10 reasons you want to lose weight

2. To prevent knee replacement from a fall-less weight = less pressure on knee
3. To fit in clothes I love
4. Feel better about myself
5. Be able to explore the National Parks and other parts of God's creation--climb over rocks, getting into hidden places
6. Help friends who need to lose-shows them we can lose weight regardless of our age
7. To make my family proud
8. So I can sleep better
9. So that I can live a longer life
10 So won't be embarrassed in a swimsuit

What do you want to change: I want to change my sedentary lifestyle/excuses for not exercising.
>How do you want to look: Healthy/Good in my clothes

>What things will you be able to do in the future with a slimmer healthier body? Able to go on the trails, walks, rocks without having to stop and catch my breath or tiring out before finished exploring or getting the great camera shots.

Stop using excuses, my fall, the blood clots, as a reason I "can't" do this or that. Get control of vegging in front of the t.v. and get back out in the "world"

I want to change how I feel about people when they look at me. Are they judging me? Do I judge myself to harshly? I want to be attractive and take pride in my appearance instead living life comfortably which is what I say but is in fact a cop out.

Mostly for my health.
So I can feel better
and look better, too
and love the way I look in my favorite clothes,
and improve my self-esteem and self-confidence,
and be comfortable on the beach, even if it's crowded,
and do all I can to avoid illness and ailments due to obesity and aging,
and have more energy to do fun things,
and to be around and active when the grandchildren come along
and because I love my family and I'm learning to love myself
and because I know what happens when I when I give up, I want to see what happens when I don't give up and reach my goals
and because it's good for my soul, so I'm doing that. :)

2. To improve my self-worth & confidence, rid myself of guilt and shame
3. To inspire others
4. To reduce/remove dependency on medications
5. To fit into cuter clothes
6. To save money - on medical bills, on clothing (I have a lot of cute stuff in smaller sizes and few things that fit me right now, and none that will fit if I gain any more!)
7. To sleep better

9. To never again have to worry about whether or not I am over the weight limit for the ride, the zipline, the stepladder, the chair, etc.

1. To feel more energetic and be able to accomplish more in a day.
2. To be healthier.
3. To look better.
4. To be able to do some exercises that are too hard to do now.
5. I'd like to not have to think so much about losing weight.
6. I'd like to spend less time on losing weight.
7. I'd like to spend more time on something creative.
8. I'd like to get more done around the house.
9. I'd like to get more done in the garden.
10. I'd like to have the feeling of accomplishing a goal I have worked on for a long time.

There are so many fun ways to exercise, don't waste time on the other ones. Enjoy healthy, good food and skip the rest.

10 Reasons I want to lose weight

1. More energy
2. Wear my whole size 4 wardrobe of clothes I wore 4 years ago. They are some really nice pieces.
3. Wear white jeans and not look huge.
4. To take weight off my knees and not need knee replacements like my father.
5. Breathe easier.
6. I have 9 children I need to be around for for quite awhile and don't want to be a burden later. It's not all in my control but I need to do my best with what I can influence.
7. Be an inspiration to my children and boyfriend.
8. Feel good about myself when I look in the mirror.
9. Feel accomplished for meeting my goal.
10. Strength.

My motivation!

1. Keep my focus on my Savior, Jesus Christ, who is always loving and guiding me to better paths when I obey and follow.
2. Be happy with self!
3. Build consistency in my diet and fitness in order to lose weight steadily and feel healthier overall.
4. Find more rest and sleep time to focus and concentrate.
5. Continue tracking all food and fitness.
6. Move in some way every day for at least 30 minutes.
7. Learn to make healthy food choices.
8. Participate in as many challenges as I can with my teammates!
9. Enjoy time with friends.
10. Gain more energy!

10 Reasons I want to lose weight / here and on a blog

1. Lower my Cholesterol so I can get off of meds
2. Lower blood pressure to a point I can cut back on my meds
3. To become more healthy
4. To be able to get around better
5. To get in smaller clothes that fit and look good on me
6. To find exercises I can do and enjoy doing to keep me moving.

I am 65 and I figure if I keep walking I'll be able to keep walking. I want to be fit and healthy to see my grandsons thru college. I also love traveling so I want to be financially fit to keep going on vacation even after I retire.

Here's my "why I want to lose weight" list from last fall when I started my first 5% challenge....
All the items still hold true! These are the reasons I'm still doing the 5% challenges even though I'm at maintenance - to hold true to myself.

1 To be able to hike hills/mountains with less exertion
2 To be able to book hiking trips without wondering if I'll be "in shape"
3 To improve my tennis game- more agile/faster... and less prone to injury
4 To have more energy
5 To improve my self esteem
6 To fit into my favorite clothes every season/every year
7 To look decent in a bathing suit (i'm around water a lot)
8 To like how I look in photos and have great photographic memories (vs. thin years/fat years)
9. To stay healthier(and stronger) and put less stress on my joints
10. To be who I want to be and not let food & my body control me.

10 Reasons Why I Want to Lose Weight:

1. I want to shop for and be able to wear cute clothes.
2. I would like to jog with my 6 year old, she loves it, me not so much...yet lol.
3. I want to look more respectable for my work. I don't want to look overweight and frumpy, I want to radiate something more than the frump I am appearing as now.
4. I want to feel as though I can get ready for my day and look nice each day.
5. I want to be around a long time to see my kids grow up and have grandchildren.
6. I want to be able to keep up with those grandkids.
7. I want to be able to hike and kayak and canoe as much as I want and keep up, even in old age.
8. I would like to help others get healthy and happy.
9. I want to feel good with lots of energy.
10. I want to live with a healthy routine daily.

2. to be comfortable while cruising Hawaii for our 25th anniversary
3. to make sure I have not complications from my recent knee surgery's (I had both replaced, one in April and one in May, five weeks apart - I am still in rehab)
