Thanks for the info and they do look good for just eating too.

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

Mortgage Lifter is the name given to a cultivar of tomato developed by Willam Estler of Barboursville, West Virginia, in 1922. He registered the name in 1932, several years before "Radiator Charlie" and his "Radiator Charlie's Mortgage Lifter". Robert Howard Estler, last remaining son of William Estler, died in October 2012.

The Mortgage Lifter is known for its mild sweet flavour, and can weigh as much as 2 lbs.

I grow it for fun. It's a great sandwich tomato, few seeds and good flavor, heavy fruit. Giant vine

I lost some because the plant towered out the top of my biggest tomato cage and folded over and went all the way back to the ground (to the back) damaging the vine some. The fruit is very large, fun to share with others. Not one I would grow to can; fresh is best and one plant will do it for me.

later fruit on overhang was smaller; but stilll quite large. Like a Beefsteak. Not in the garden centers here yet but I've inquired and they will be.

Hope that arbor works----it is lovely just as it is---that has to be one enormous producer---I might have to look for one.

Fun site! I've already used toilet paper rolls to root the trimmings from shaping up my wintered over geranium. I like her stuff the bottom with dryer lint idea; with or without clipping and folding in the bottom end. Thanks!

Going to try another Mortgage Lifter Tomato this year. Son and I assembled an arbor, that's another story, to keep it from taking over my garden. Two smaller tomatoes will be trained up the front legs with the MLT up the back and over the top (if it's anything like last year. We'll see. :)
This thing is huge! My 6'10" son easily walks under it. Tomatoes this year; who knows what next?! Just for fun, and tomatoes of course. emoticon
