Well, when Mom and Dad were still hosting there was generally about 50 people.
Since Mom got sick a couple years ago, my oldest sister and her large family began having their own.
WE began hosting the others. So with my 11 in the house (10 excluding the marine, out of state right now.) There will be at least 5 more and maybe the adult kids will invite some friends.
That's for the dinner.

Later, some of my sister's kids (who have their meal at home) will probably come over for games and such.

At the holidays we are big on Scrabble and Blokus. And some play Euchre.

This year is minus Mom, Dad, and my second sister, all of whom have passed away.

Last year, we tried to bring Mom over from the nursing home but she was taken to the hospital instead and Sis #3 had to stay with her all day. I'm hoping to make it a special day for her on Thursday: maybe I'll even let her think she won a game. ;)

Sis #5 just separated from her husband, she wasn't sure if she'd have him come, too, or not. If not, she'll have to leave early to 'share the kids' with him. So sad.

But I am looking forward to the Day.

I don't babysit until Wednesday, so tomorrow will be full of shopping for the food with hubby.

We will have a very small dinner cooked in the crockpot. (chicken & dressing)

Slowly and surely wins the race.

Our daughter who has been a resident in Puerto Rico for the last two years (work related), moved in with us during Hurr. Maria. She will remain until her condo has electricity and water... She has been very helpful and a joy to have with us. She is doing her work here, but also making herself useful...So for Thanksgiving she is planning to cook a lamb roast (just not interested in a big turkey for 3 of us dark meat eaters).

By Thursday we could change and have guests or be guests...noting in stone for us...

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of May 2019. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2019 to be back to below 155.

I have been invited to a friend's for Thanksgiving day. I have been having Thanksgiving with her sister and usually her (she was in Florida for a few years as a doctor resident) since I have no family around and few friends but them.

Yesterday we had a dinner at church. Tried keeping my portions small there.

You are indeed a generous and giving man. That is what it is all about.

My friends husband is in a nursing home so we invited his wife and daughter to join us for the feast. This has been so hard on them but a couple of hours of food and friendship can't hurt.

We will be having a tradition dinner with family - grateful that we are able to all get together and give thanks. It's been a tough year with daughter's divorce and my husband's cancer. This year the gratitude will definitely be magnified. We are also including two friends of my daughter and grandson - a father and son who have no other family to share the day with. So we will total eight for dinner.

Thanksgiving has to wait this year. I'm in retail and have to work not just thanksgiving, but all weekend. DD is head of ICU trauma and has to work Thanksgiving. We will be thankful when we get a chance
