Jamie~ Great job with the 5k walk! Did your soreness go away yet?

Dawn~ Uh oh.. Those cookies are making a come back! Those would be really hard for me to stay away from too because choco chip are one of my faves!

I agree with Dawn that it's great we are all getting back into the groove around the same time. It's nice being able to share it with each of you! I am 100% committed and was super excited to get my workout in tonight. I was tired but you know what..I DID IT ANYWAY!!! I started with Level 2 of the 30 Day Shred thinking that would be EASY for me. Um...it's been about a month without lots of hard, physical exercise...that was NOT easy! I was huffing and puffing and had a really hard time breathing! The good new is that I have more muscle than in the past so I could keep up with most of it but I was totally suffering! I hope tomorrow is better.

My plan is to work out 4 times per week for the next 2 weeks. After that I may ramp it up a day (I hope!). With school it's hard to get everything in so it may stay at 4 for a while longer than I think. I will be packing my lunch for tomorrow as well as probably hitting the gym after class tomorrow. I want to get up and run in the AM but it's already going to be 11:30 before I go to sleep. Yikes!

I also plan to get back into tracking again. I have been slacking on this part and think I need it to stay accountable and close to my goals.

Let's make this week a great one ladies! Whether you ahve started this week or the will be on board next week, let's just get our goals back in action! With each other's support I'm sure we can conquer them one at a time!

Well, I jumped on the scale this morning, expecting to see another gain, because it sure seemed like I gained this week, but the scale said the same thing as last week, so I guess that is a plus? I have gained a total of 4 pounds this past month during my break from tracking. *SIGH* Yes, I KNOW it is my fault and my own responsibilty to keep the weight off, but it REALLY gets harder the older you get. I remember hitting my 30's and seeing NO results from the things I used to do in my 20's to keep the pounds off. You just need to be WAY more dedicated and diligent. That's why I needed a break and fell off the wagon...so much pressure and so much hard work for every single flippin' pound! I will get back on the wagon on Monday with all of you, I promise! But for now...well, my husband has requested more chocolate chip cookies, and I just can't help myself when I make them! I like the dough about as much as the cookies themselves! I will just have to pack them up into portioned bags for hubby to take to work this next week, so they will not be around to tempt me!

My biggest thing will be to TRACK, TRACK, TRACK my food. I will do workouts 3x per week, doing one day of ST/cardio combination, one day of cardio, and one day of ST. I'd like to see how my body reacts to this routine for a while. I think it is a "do-able" goal for me.

I am also REALLY excited that we are all on the same page again with our weight loss!! It will be so nice to compare notes with each other, and I think we all did the best at the beginning of the group when we were all 100% dedicated...so let's get back on track ladies, and tackle those last few pounds!

I did a 5k walk this morning and boy, am I sore. But, it might be just the thing I needed to get myself back into the swing of things. I will probably take tomorrow off, and then get up early on Monday. Time to hit it again!

Well, I have realy been on a McDonalds kick lately. I am not sure why, but I am craving their hash browns in the morning. Time to kick that habit.

Emma is having a temper tantrum right now because she wants to go over to our new neighbor's house and play. Their younger son has hand, foot and mouth and has had a high fever for the past few days. I've told her NO numerous times already for obvious reasons, and she is still having a fit! Aaarrrggghhh!!

Dawn- I am with you on the age thing. It seems that the older I get, the harder it is to loose weight. Not only that, but the more focused and dedicated I need to be. Eating well alone does not yield any results... No nibbling allowed for me, it just means disaster. You know that expression "a moment on your lips a lifetime on your hips"? It certainly applies to me.

Ok, got to go. Emma is really driving me batty today!!!!

How much did you gain this month Dawn?! I'm gonna guess the latter reason is why you may have gained and not the age! I'm sure it gets harder but my gut tells me it's probably more the nibbling. haha I do notice that I do have a harder time losing weight than when I was in my early 20's, we'll say. 10ish years later and it does feel like it has to be more calculated. geez...

Talking about portion control...today I really overdid it! My tummy actually hurts. I ate so much at breakfast and dinner. It was strange. I felt like I didn't care and that I should get it in before Sunday. Dumb, I know, but I did it anyway!

Yes, I am REALLY ready to hit the gym. I want my strong body back and the good energy. I feel like a big smooshy spud right now.

So how does everyone plan to ease back into things? I may do the gym or just start out with one of Jillian's workouts at home. Haven't really decided yet.

Ok, I blame it on being 40 that Amy and Jaya can slack off and still lose, while I have slacked off and gained this past month. AAAARRRRRUUUUGGGGG!

I am both looking forward to...and dreading at the same time getting back into the swing of shedding these last few pounds. I really WANT to do it. I think my problems have been tied to NOT tracking this past month. I have most likely slacked off on portion control and nibbling, and I think that is was has been my nemesis. I am going to see what will happen next week when I get back on board with the tracking, but I'm still gonna keep my exercising at only 3 days a week to start with, to see if I can lose with that schedule. We will see.

Sounds like we are all ready to hit it hard again. Let's remember what it felt like at first when all those pounds started melting away and see if we can recapture that enthusiasm!

Good morning ladies!!!!!!!
Sorry I have been MIA again. I wish this had SMS like facebook and that I could get the posts sent to my phone. I'd be a much more active user!

Happy Birthday Emma!!!!! How wonderful! Did you have a birthday party for her??

Dawn~ Yes! I am scheduled to get back on track next week! I will be starting on Sunday the 12th so I'll be in mode whenever everyone else is ready! I'm excited too because my energy is tanking and I miss my exercise. I actually crave it!

Jaya~Love the new profile pic on FB! And I'm so happy that you are within a pinky's reach of your goal! YOu must feel amazing!

In this past month I have dropped one pound for a total of 26 shed. Woo hoo! 4 more will be my comfort zone and 10 more after that would be my stretch goal. I hope this last month of shaking it up and messing with my metabolism has worked! I expect results! haha

I will check out your new pictures in a minute. I can't wait to see them! :o)

I hope each of you are doing well and having a great week thus far!

Hey Jaya~ Just a funny thought that I had the other day when I went onto FB and I think I was looking at your new profile pic (cute, BTW, with all the kids toys outside in the background!) and I noticed your birthday was on there, and you were BORN when I was a SENIOR in high school!!!! How's THAT for a reality check on our age difference!! And another BTW, just as a privacy thing, I would encourage you to change it to just your birth month and day, and not to include the year. You never know who is out there looking at your information with bad intentions!

Hope your Fantasy Football pics will be good to ya this year again!! Go Favre???!!

Hello ladies, Well I hopped on the scale and it said 152!!! Only 2 lbs. away from goal. I'm loving the cooler weather and I think I've just been more active. YAY! Well I have to go get ready. I just wanted to share the news! I have my Fantasy Football draft today. I'm super excited! I LOVE football and I've won the championship the last 3 years! Did I mention that I've only been doing it for 3 years. Oh and the best part is that my Husband and 2 bro-in-laws are also in the league! I think they all hate me by now! HEHE!

I was just reading posts to catch up! Welcome back Jacqueline!! Glad you are back to a routine!

I put a picture of my view of hte river on my profile. That is exactly what i see when I walk out our back door. Nice, huh?!

Dawn- congrats to Justine on getting her cast off! How exciting!

Well, we have Emma's birthday party tomorrow! I can't believe she is 5 already! Time does fly. She made it through her first 1 1/2 weeks of kindergarten and loves it!

Off to bed now! We had a birthday party to go to today and the kids are exhausted! Unfortunately I stopped for iced coffee on my way home and they gave e caffeinated instead of decaf, and because I react horribly to caffeine, I will probably be awake till all hours of the night! Ugh!!

I am on for Sept 20th! That gives me a good date to look forward to!!

I guess you can tell I'm a tired dork who has not had time to change my calendar! You did catch me looking at August still!! I'd be willing to start either on the 13th or 20th...but it sounds like Jaya would have extra motivation if we started on the 20th, so let's all plan for that. Jaya, you have to be loving this cooler weather!!

JUSTINE GOT HER CAST OFF TODAY!!!! We are all so excited! We gave her a normal bath tonight and it was great for all of us!! We have one final follow up in a week to make sure things are still healing up, and she does not have any problems using the arm. Ha. I can tell you already there is no trouble. The Dr. said she'd probably be sore and we'd have to remind her to stretch it out and use it, but that lasted about 5 minutes. She's back to using it as normal, which I suppose is good!!

I posted my blog on Sparks with pics, and posted more pics on FB today...of Justine's birthday if you are interested.

Hope you are all doing well. So far I am on track for exercising this week, and I am getting better about the food! Slowly!!

Have a great Friday and awesome long weekend, all!! I'll be online as much as usual, we are just staying around here getting this done this weekend!

I would say yes except that the 16th is a Thursday! HAHA! So maybe the 13th or 20th? You must have been looking at August. Biggest Loser comes back on the 21st. That always gets me in the dieting mood! I'm actually doing really well without tracking. If I can get myself to exercise I should be able to lose these last few lbs. Fingers crossed!

Hey Ladies~

Real quick right now, I did get to my picture blog of Justine's Fair Day and Birthday. Check it out when you get a moment.

I did get a great workout in today, plus a stroller walk this morning, because this awful humidity that we have been having has finally left us for a spell! It felt really good to do both, and I feel like it is the start of me getting back on track. I think being lax with tracking has really hurt me these past few weeks. I did not have the heart to weigh in last weekend, but I will this weekend, in anticipation of getting ready to get back on track. Do we want to set Monday, Sept 16th as our goal for all of us to get off our summer butts and shape up our acts and get back to busting through these pounds once again??? Who is with me???!!!
emoticon

Let's work on our mental game this week, and see if we can't get that in check first!! Hope we are all doing great!!

Hey ladies!!! Sorry I have been MIA. I just started back to school and am starting to get a routine again! :) It is funny how without the kids and myself being in school I am lost and without a routine. Uriah and Mishaela are both in school this year!!!!! It is wonderful. Uriah is in Prek and Mishaela in 1st. So it is just Lilly and I in the mornings! It is nice. We got a new dog as well. She is a lab and Pyrenees and she is wonderful!!! She is sick right now (UTI) but hopefully everything will be fine soon so I can go get her fixed. Well, I have homework to get done. Congrats Jamie on the new house!!!

Ladies, it's been a busy weekend for me with going to the Fair and celebrating Justine's 2nd birthday! We had a great time on both events! Justine just LOVED all the rides at the Fair (she's a chip off the old block:). She also had so much fun having people over for her big day, and opening presents! I hope to blog on Wednesday with pics of her and her cake, and riding on the carousel, which was her favorite. Also look for more pics on FB in the next few days.

Needless to say, I have NOT been doing well in the food department the past week! But I have already been much better today, and will be even better tomorrow, since all the cupcakes are out of the house now! I did get in the AWESOME JM BFBM workout again today, and it really kicked my butt!! I loved it, after all my being bad!

We have Justine's 2 year doctor appt tomorrow, and hopefully we will get the cast off on Thursday!! Looking forward to that!!

Hope we are all off to a good start this week. Jamie, glad you are settling in to your new home! It sounds great...you will have to take a pic of your view and post to your page for us!

Hi Ladies,

Well, our unpacking is almost done! Can you believe it??!! We have our bedroom to finish, and the living room to finish and that is about it. Oh, I do have my "craft" closet to do, but that's not a priority now. I would say by next weekend we will be totally settled! Of course, the weather is nice here now and when I get home from work at night, I just want to sit on our deck and enjoy the view of the river... Ahhh!! Today we are taking Emma to an open house at a dance school, and afterward the kids are staying with the in-laws. That will give Justin and I the afternoon to work on the house.

I am glad everyone seems to be doing well. Jaya- I did peg you for a heavy metal chick! My hubbie loves metal- especially Motley Creu, and I have to endure it sometimes, much to my dismay. I am not a huge country fan either. I had to laugh at that one, especially when Dawn said she isn't into country either. I like more classic rock 80's and 90's type of things... I really dislike the music on the radio these days, silly Lady Gaga and the such. And I don't like Brittney Spears either!!

Dawn- glad you are back to a somewhat normal routine with Justine! Happy Birthday to her! Hope you have an awesome day with her, and hope you had fun at the fair yesterday!!! I love fairs- you just have to ignore the kcal content of everything and enjoy the day!

Amy- glad Ramadan is going well. How long does it last? I thought it was a week, but it seems like it's been longer than that. I admire that you are exercising through it, that must be difficult...

Jaya- to answer your question about my work... I work for WIC. I started in July of 98 in HAverhill, Ma and then went to Sanford, Me in July of 2002. I am doing the same thing at this new job, but add on that I am also the breastfeeding coordinator in charge of our peer counselors. When I worked in Sanford, I was also the office manager until a year ago when I was demoted by my mean boss. I love working for WIC and will probably be a lifer there... Of course, some of the clients really wear me down, they think they are entitled to it and that is hard. But for the most part, the clients are awesome...

Anyway, we are heading out to the open house this morning and I better get into the shower and get moving. Hopefully I will be able to get on here more often. Happy 6 month anniversary all!!!

HAHAHA! That's a good one Dawn! Wouldn't that be nice? I guess I was off on your music taste! You and Jamie kind of remind me of my sisters who LOVE country music. I guess that's where I was getting that from! But if you looked at me on a normal day you probably wouldn't guess that I love Metal and hard rock!
Well, my husband's band is playing tomorrow night. I can't wait! I don't know if I ever told you guys about their website. It's primitivesteel.com & if you go on their, click on "VIDEO" and scroll down to their 3rd video. It's called "Enter Sandman". There's a close up of my husband(drummer) in the beginning. If you guys are interested. Speaking of which, my Mom is watching my kids here tomorrow so I better clean up!!! Ugh! It's been a long week!

I got in a good workout yesterday. Today, just loads of working up a sweat cleaning for Justine's birthday party on Saturday. We are going to the State Fair tomorrow, so I will be consuming around 10 million calories. I figure it will be too many to do any damage. My system will simply go into shock and just ignore them all. HaHaHaHa!

Oh, Jaya, you could not be farther from my musical likes!! I can tolerate most types of music, but I do NOT like country or techno!!! I'm pretty much a pop/adult pop/semi alternative type girl, with a little contemporary Christian thrown in there. Of course right now, I pretty much listen to Raffi and Laurie Berkner and The Wiggles!! What can I say, the little one rules the day! But sometimes my music is on in the car when we go someplace, and Justine likes to listen to my music for a little bit, too! Oh, and I do live deep in the heart of the suburbs. We have 44 trees on our lot, and we live right across the street from a lake, so I am with you on this. Visiting the city is fun, but give me my quiet at night! You think The Cities are bad...have you ever been to NYC?? THAT is CRAZY loud at any given time, you would go nuts!!

Amy, you are right, we have been "together" for 6 months now! WOW!!! How cool is that! And yes, NMTZ does have the strength portion thrown in that BFBM does not, so it would be a good change for you. I am up for shooting for the middle of September with you, Amy, for getting our mojo back. I am enjoying the break, but should be ready by then. I went for a walk BY MYSELF this evening, and it felt so good to walk at a good clip outside, and it was a gorgeous evening here!

OK, better get off to bed. Have a great one, ladies!

Jamie~ Yikes! You have so much going on. I'm sure the filthy house didn't help for relaxation reasons. I am glad to hear that hyou had a lot of family able to help. That is a tremendous relief!

Yeah, I can't believe school started again either. And you know what I just realized? I think we have been talking with each other for almost 6 months now! Does that sound right???

Dawn~ So glad things are getting back to normal for you and Justine. And I think you are right about the memories for the future. I'm sure if you whip out photos for her, friends, etc it will spark some interesting convos!

I have the No More Trouble Zones DVD as well but havent' opened it yet. I really like the Fat burner one and was going to NMTZ next. Maybe I should open that one now to try something new. I really need strength.

Jaya~ I seen your pictures on FB and it looks like you had an amazing time. Did you take those pictures? The lighting was all different colors and they looked cool. How many people did you go with??

As far as music, I listen to pretty much anything. I don't really get into heavy metal very much but I'm sure there are a few songs that are the exception. I'm kind of stuck in a time warp and LOVE anything 80's. Early hip hop, british pop, power ballads..you name it! I probably have all the songs memorized, could tell you the names of songs and the bands. Yeah, I'm a nerd! haha I also listen to music from around the world such as French, Arabic, Spanish, Bollywood, whatever! If I like it, I listen to it!

I am getting ready to continue my jiggly belly tradition by eating a sprinkled donut. I am so bad! Of course, I haven't been doing too bad most of the time so I don't feel bad about it. haha Excuses, excuses.

Soo...when do you think we will all get our mojo back to exercise and eat good?! I'm gonna make a commitment to be back into full swing by mid September. Ramadan will be over by then (oh and Jamie, it's going ok. I've been so busy it hasn't been as good as it normally would have been. boo!) and I hope to get up early to get workouts in. I'll start by getting my strength in now and focus on more cardio later.

I hope you each have a great Wednesday and I'll chat with you all soon!

~Amy~

Jamie, I hope you can get settled in soon. You do all that work to pack up and move, when you get there you just want to relax. So how's your new job? Are you doing the same thing or something different? I'm sure you already told us, but I have mom brain and some things don't stay in there!

Dawn, Glad to here that Justine's sleeping through the night. I'm sure that makes things a lot easier. It just "dawned" on me that I was just in the cities and probably not very far from you! I'm not sure how anyone can live there! Do you live right in the cities or on the outskirts? Of course you might not want to say on here. It was nice to see all the buildings, but I'm happy to be surrounded by trees and lakes again!

Well the concert was AMAZING! I'm not sure if you guys would have liked the music though. Dawn and Jamie seem like country fans. Amy maybe, alternative? I could be totally wrong though! HAHA! Well it was a heavy metal concert. My favorite band "MEGADETH" was there. They played my favorite song "a tout le monde" and I swear the lead singer Dave Mustaine looked right at us! I love metal, rock, some alternative and bit of everything I guess. What kind of music do you guys listen to?

Amy, I know what you mean about a jiggly tummy! After having KFC buffet and Domino's among other naughty things... I'm feeling it!

Jamie~ That's a bummer that your new place is filthy dirty!! I would not have been able to sleep one night in a dirty place...especially with kids!! Oh well, you will get there, take it one room and one box at a time. Hopefully you will be there a long time!!

Yes, we are almost back to our normal routine again. Justine is sleeping through the night again, and I have caught up on my sleep, so I have gotten back to exercise. Total time for the cast is 3 weeks, and we are about halfway through. I am a little bummed that this Saturday is her 2nd birthday, and she will have the cast on for it. But I guess it will be a story for the future! We are having cake and ice cream on Sat night here for her relatives, and we are going to the State Fair this Friday to celebrate as our tradition for her. I can't wait!

I got back to Jillian's No More Trouble Zones today, and it is such a good workout! It really hits all those flabby parts we women get! I need to get better about all the little snacky things that find their way into my mouth...since I am not tracking right now, I know that (along with lack of exercise last week) is why I gained weight last week. *SIGH*.

I have more to say, but I have got to run right now. More later or tomorrow!

Have a great one, all!!

~Dawn

Hi Ladies,

Well, I have been MIA because this was move weekend. We are in our house now, but it's filthy dirty and unpacked still. We have a lot done, but still a lot of boxes sitting around. This morning when I was leaving for work, I had to dig out my shoes. But it will get done eventually. I have only unpacked 1 box tonight because I am pretty tired... Luckily we had a ton of help from family, and that was awesome!!

Amy- hope the holiday was ______ I am not sure what word to use- nice, enjoyable, refreshing, full of revelations. Insert whatever word you would typically use... :) I am sure once you get back to a routine, you will be able to resume your exercise. I can't believe you are back to school already. Anatomy is a lot of fun, you will enjoy it.

Dawn- how is Justine doing with her new cast? How long will she need it? Hope you are able to get back into your routine again once she adjusts to the cast. How are you sleeping? Is she sleeping at night again?

Jaya- I saw your FB page that you had a ton of fun at the concert!!! Woohoo!!!

Anyway, guess I should open a few more boxes... It's too stressful having things all over the place with home for them yet... Need to get organized- my type A brain won't be able to handle it for long...

Jamie

Hi ladies,
Looks like we have been busy again. I'm the last post..that is rare!

I am happy to report that I am free of visitors for the first time in two weeks! I'm kind of looking forward to getting back into the "routine" of things. I go back to work tomorrow and start my anatomy class. Hopefully I can get some exercise in this week as well. My tummy feels jiggly (still!).

I'm about to sit down to a nice meal with the family with one of the yummy Spark Recipes. I'm surprisingly awake as I was fortunate enough to take a TWO hour nap. Yes, I said TWO hours. I haven't had that long of an uninterrupted nap, let alone a nap at all, in a long time!!! Now I have the energy to dig in to my meal!

Have a great night ladies and I hope to catch up with you all soon!

Jaya~ Have fun at the concert! Let us know how it goes. I bet you are going to have a great time!

Dawn~ Great job at getting in some exercise! I bet it felt great! I know what you mean about feeling like a "blob." I have been getting in walking but lacking on strength and hard cardio. I feel a bit jiggly in my belly. I did a little strength today but will have to get some more in so I don't lose any muscle. I'm glad to hear that Justine's bone is healing well. That is great news!

Jamie~ OMG! That just gave me the shivers thinking about that story?! Where did that boy learn that from? I know that kids are curious, and it could have been totally random, but it's still disturbing and makes me wonder. I would have said something too because that's something that needs to be discussed with the child. Too bad the mother wasn't appreciative of the feedback. Geez..

Ladies, this week has been another busy one. I feel like I have been driving a lot and going from place to place. With all the visitors we've been going many places. Tonight we relaxed at the house most of the night which was really nice. I needed a break. As far as exercise, I've been doing lots of walking but not much of anything else. I did some strength today and it felt good. I need to get more in since I feel a bit jiggly. I was naughty tonight and went to Red Robin. I haven't been there in forever! My sister and I got two different burgers and split them. It was her first time there so we split the Whiskey River BBQ Burger and the Chicken Teriyaki Burger. Mmm....I don't even want to look up the calories in those!!!!

Justine got her soft cast off yesterday, and the permanent hot pink cast is on. It went well, and xrays showed the bone was healing well, thankfully. She is adjusting today to the new cast, and is a bit whiny. Should be better over the weekend.

I finally got in some good exercise yesterday, too! We got in a stroller walk in the morning, and I did an hour of circuit training while she napped. It felt REALLY good! It's amazing that I could actually MISS the exercise, as I have only gotten in a few short walks in the past week.
emoticon

We had a nice playdate at our house this morning with a mom and her 2 kids from my new mom's group that I joined. It was fun to have them over and Justine played and shared well. But it was a little boy her age, and she just kept wanting to hug him, and he was OK with it at first, but by the time they left he had enough of the hugging!! I must try this with another little GIRL her age who is more like-minded with the friendly-affection!! It's really cute, so I don't want to discourage it!
emoticon

Jaya~ Have fun at the concert this weekend and I hope your van makes the trip in good shape!!

Jamie~ Good luck on the move, and sounds like good riddance old neighbors and old job!! I'm pretty sure that if Justine came home with a story like that, I would be bailing my husband out of jail for maiming someone, either the kid himself or the parents!! That is nothing to take lightly, and especially if it is a first incident, you really have to believe your child. How would she know that is a bad thing otherwise? I hope the new job and new neighborhood are a wonderful fresh new start for you!!

Have a great weekend, all!!

Hi Ladies,

Sorry it's been all week since I've been on here... It's been crazy, with starting work and being at my in-laws all week... And of course it started with a nasty spat with my neighbor. I don't like her, so it's no big loss... Basically Emma told me that her son pulled down her underwear and kissed her vagina. Her son is 6. I know she is a very combative and confrontational person, so I had contemplated not saying anything because I won't ever see her again. But Emma's story never changed. So, I was talking to another neighbor and she told me to present it as "Emma told me a strange story and I was hoping you could talk to Mason and see if he could shed some light on it all". But, as soon as I brought it up, she started yelling at me... Which is pretty much how I expected it to go. But, instead of just leaving it at that, she then emailed me on FB, firstwas over apogizing, the blasting me again and then saying it was over with us- even though there was nothing to begin with. I wrote her back a very short message and said "put yourself in my shoes", that I wouldn't respond again and that I hope to never see her again. She wrote back and told me my profile picture just showed that Emma wasn't good enough for me anymore and that I favored Emma, and that it was only a matter of time before I was reported. I didn't respond. I know she wanted the last word, and by not reponding, she got it. But, I am being a bigger person. I didn't attack her like she did me, probably because I couldn't get a word in...

ANyway, tomorrow is moving day and our house is a wreck this morning. Justin brought most things downstairs and our living room and dining room are full or boxes and furniture...

It seems like everyone is hanging in there... Dawn- I hope Justine's new cast is better! I will be anxious to hear how she adjusts to it..

GOt to go, Leah is climbing all over me!

Dawn, that's awesome that your family helps you out like that. It sounds a lot like my family! When I had my son I came home to a freezer full of homemade dinners my sister Jessica made for us. It was awesome! Well hopefully she won't mind her new cast as much. I saw the picture of her on FB. Poor baby! It sounds like you need an exercise jar too! LOL!

Jamie, how's everything been in your neck of the woods? I saw you had a spat with your neighbor the other day. Maybe a new job and location is just what you need!

Amy, you must really appreciate the small things, like a cold glass of water. But that's part of the point, right? Don't worry about excercise too much. I don't think any of us are doing great with that. As far as my jar's go... I only have a few in each jar. I have ideas but I need to figure out how long it takes to do some of the S.T. I don't just want to do crunches for 10 mins. I'm still trying to figure it out.

Well I hope everyone's having a good week. We're going to a concert in the cities on Saturday. So I don't know if I'll get on here again till Sunday. We have to change the oil and detail our car tomorrow. Hopefully it'll make the trip!

Justine will get her soft cast off tomorrow (Thurs) and we hope she will have the permanent cast on for just 2 weeks. Fingers crossed!

So far this week from lack of sleep, I have only gotten in 2 walks for exercise. I feel gross...I NEED to get more in this week or I will feel like a big ole blob! I can guarantee I will not be losing any weight this week!

But nevertheless today was good for me. My aunt volunteered to help out extra this week due to Justine being in the cast, so my mom (her sister) came over and brought my aunt. Grammy watched Justine and my aunt and I made FOUR different dinners and put them in small batches in the freezer, so I have about 9 dinners I can just pull out of the freezer and heat up for these next few weeks when Justine needs to be watched extra carefully. It was awesome to have the kitchen help!

Hope your days are going good, too!

Hello ladies,
Yes! Dawn, it does appear that ie are all a bit inactive this week. So much going on! For myself, I haven't even been on FB that much. I feel like I'm out of touch! haha

My father and sister are visiting from out of town this week. In addition, my sister's best friend moved here to go to school so the past week I've been playing the role of tour guide/welcomer. I want her to feel comfortable and help her get settled so I've been taking her places and showing them around our beautiful state! We've done a lot and had a good time but I'm starting to feel it! Today I'm taking it easy and am going to stay in town and go to the zoo. It's too nice to stay in all day! No humidity, sunshine, and cool breezes. Beautiful!

As far as Ramadan, it's been going well so far. I haven't been getting any formal exercise in yet simply because I've had visitors (did I mention my mom was here the week before??) and haven't had time to get it in. I have been doing a TON of walking each day so that has been my primary exercise these past two weeks.

Jamie~ You asked about what I can consume. Pretty much no intake and that includes drinks. It's not that bad as long as I get it in before fasting begins. So how have you celebrated your last day of work???? What happened that day???

Jaya~ Thanks for the greetings! That was so kind of you! And yes, you did get it right! I love your idea about the exercise jar. That's kind of fun to keep it fresh. What have you put in there thus far?
How is your tooth doing? I remember getting mine out (all 4 at once impacted) and it was funny after I woke up. I was a teen and the guy in the room with me also was. We came out of our anesthesia and couldn't talk because of all the gauzes in our mouths. We just were out of it and giggling about anything and everything. It was so funny!

Dawn~ Oh my gosh! I am so sorry to hear about what happened to Justine! How is she doing today? How long does she keep the cast on? I know the feeling you were talking about when you felt like a "bad mom." I know you know that isn't true (you are a wonderful mommy!) but that feeling has a way of imposing on us when we can't always save our babies. Accidents are going to happen and the good thing is that kids are pretty resiliant. They shed a few tears but once the mama loving comes in that makes it feel a whole lot better! Then..they just keep moving on, playing, and jumping! They're good at that!

I hope each of you are having a great start of the day. I'm gonna go get some dishes and tidying done and then I'm headed to the zoo. Take care ladies! I'll check in soon!

~Amy~

Hi Ladies~

Didn't get in my exercise DVD today because I needed a nap...Justine had another off night last night with the heavy cast. My husband says the permanent one she will get on Thursday will be lighter, made of fiberglass, so that will be great! We did get in a stroller walk, because the heat and humidity has finally broken here since Sunday, and it has been absolutely perfect outside ever since! Even a little bit breezy, which I love!!

My aunt volunteered to help out a bit this week with the extra attention Justine needs with her cast, so I took her up on it and she will come over on Wed with my mom, and she will help me make some dinners that I can put in the freezer for quick meals in the future. It is tough to find the time to make a meal when I really have to watch Justine extra careful this week especially. That will be awesome!! Looking forward to that for sure.

Hope all your days are going great! Amy, we haven't heard from you for quite a while, I hope all is going well for you?

Have a relaxing night, ladies!

Thanks for your prayers, ladies! Last night was OK, she only got up 4 times...what am I saying...it was awful!! She usually sleeps the whole night. Hopefully she will get more used to the cast as the days go by and sleeping will be easier for her.

Right now I am off to take a quick nap before I get my hair cut. Justine and Daddy are having some bonding time together right now. She is doing well today, thankfully, quite the trooper!

Jamie, you must feel 10 lbs lighter waking up this morning without that witch hanging over your head! When is the actual move date for you to the new house?

Jaya~ Take it easy on you today. I hope they got it all out! Did you have it done at the dentist, or from an oral surgeon? I remember my oral surgery to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed, as they were still impacted (still within the gums). I woke up from the anesthesia, and one of my shoes was off my foot all the way across the room. And they were lace up tennis shoes. I still wonder to this day what happened to me that my shoe came off during surgery!! I'll never know!

OK, naptime for Dawn...oh, I'm somehow down another half pound this week. Truly boggles the mind!

Dawn, how is Justine doing today? Poor baby! Luckily you did break her fall or it could have been much worse. I'll be praying for a quick and painless recovery. I agree with Jamie that you shouldn't beat yourself up about it. Just focus on being there for her recovery. But I'm sure I don't need to tell you that!

Jamie, CONGRATS! emoticon emoticon
Time for a fresh start! We all need one of those from time to time. The same job and location for a long time can put us in a rut.

Well I'm taking it easy today. I got a wisdom tooth pulled yesterday. Definitely not a pleasant experience. The worst part is it feels like there's still a small piece in there. I sure hope not! Well... 1 down, 3 to go! yikes!

Oh Dawn! I am so sorry that Justine broke her arm! You can not blame yourself for the fall though, kids fall all the time. Emma had to have her 4 front teeth restored, and when we went in for her pre-op physical I told our Pedi that I felt horribly guilty. His response was "get over it, there are plenty of things in her life that you will feel guilty about, this is small". It made me feel much better. So, my point is... Stop beating yourself up because there are so many other things that will happen to her. (I am not saying "get over it" like my doc did though...) And she is young and resilient. It might be a tough couple of day, but she will bounce back really quickly!!

How awesome for you, Jamie!! I'm sure walking out that door today was the BEST feeling!!
emoticon emoticon

My day today was awful...Justine fell at the park this morning, and she ended up fracturing a bone in her arm....we spent all day at doctors and she is now sleeping in bed with her new cast. She will wear this soft cast and sling for a week to give her arm a chance to expand and contract, as it is a little swollen. Then she goes back in for more x-rays and they will put a permanent cast on her for hopefully just another 2 weeks. Yeah. This means Justine will spend her 2nd birthday with a cast on. I just feel like the worst mom ever! I was right there, and I caught her fall at the end, but obviously not enough to prevent all this damage and suffering. She is not a happy camper! I spent most of the day holding her, and my back is killing me. I don't know if we will sleep much tonight, either, but I pray we will.

Prayers for a full and speedy recovery for my poor baby, please, everyone.

Hope your days were better than mine.

Ramadan Kareem & Mubarak! Happy Ramadan Amy!

I hope I spelled that right!

Dawn, you just had to mention Sweet Martha's Cookies! LOL! I had my Mom buy me a bucket last year when she went. They're definitely better when you first get them all warm! YUM! Spendy though!

Well as far as getting my diploma and doing something that I really love. What I always wanted to do was have kids. That's what I really love. Career wise I never really put much thought into it. I love to read and write and maybe I'll look into writing a book or working for a newspaper or something. When the kids are much older I'll probably just find a job that pays the bills. I still plan on getting my diploma. Just for the accomplishment and officially closing that chapter of my life that's unfinished.

Well I think that I found an exercise regime that will work for me. I got the idea from Prevention. They said to write down some exercises/dvds on pieces of paper and put them in a jar. When your workouts are getting dull you pull one out and do it. I'm going to tweak it a bit and write down exercises that only take about 10-15 mins. I'll have a cardio jar and a S.T. jar. When I get a few minutes I'll pull one out and do it. I want to work up to doing it 3x a day. But for now I'm going to do at least 1 a day. NO EXCUSES! If you guys can think of any ideas for me to write down let me know!

Hope everyone's having a great week!

Jaya- you can tell those bankers to go take a long walk off a short pier!! I wish I had the guts to deal with less $$ and stay at home, but I am too afraid to do that! You are doing the best for your kids by making that decision, and even if your living situation is less than ideal, you are making sacrifices for your family now that will lead to rewards later. Maybe some day you will go back to school and get your HS diploma, and go on to do something you really love- but until that day comes you are putting your family first and making them your priority and for that no banker has the right to judge!!

Well, I finally got a good nights sleep last night, and I am still exhausted. After that stomach bug on Saturday, I came down with a cold, so it's been 3 nights of little sleep. I've wanted to sleep, but Leah has also been pretty needy because she had a touch of this cold too. Last night I got home and I was exhausted, didn't feel good and was just plain cranky. It didn't make for a pretty combination. After bath time, I took the girls upstairs and I told Emma "I am tired, I don't feel good and I am very cranky. This is your only warning. If you are wild, and don't listen, you will go immediately to time out for the rest of the night." Luckily she got the message... Of course, that didn't stop her from waking me up at 9:30 when she climbed into bed with me, started rubbing my back and chanting "I love you Mommy, I really love you". It was very sweat, definately, but I just wanted to sleep!!!

Ladies- all your talk of fair food is making me anxious for fair season around here... It's very interesting to hear what you all eat at fairs, because it's very different from what we have around here. I like the pizza there, and the french fries. We actually have a routine- start with a slice of pizza, then have french fries, then chicken on a stick (it's sooooo good), or a huge turkey leg, or sausage/peppers/onions. On the way out we always get fried dough. I got really sick a few years back from the sausage at a fair- and I mean vomiting/diarrhea/sleeping on the bathroom floor for a week- and have been very reluctant to eat sausage at fairs since then, although I have started to eat it again but am picky about what vendor I get it at... It's so much fun going to the fair with the kids, Emma loved the animals last year. This year I am anxious to see how Leah is with the animals, my guess is that she will love it!!!

Dawn- can you tell me your exercise routine again and what videos you are using? I was reading your post yesterday and thinking to myself that you've got a good routine going. And it seem like a routine that is attainable and sustainable, so I thought I would try it.

Amy- If we don't hear from you this week, we will know why. Good luck on figuring out when you will get your exercise in! I will be anxious to know how you do. Are you allowed water during the fasting period, or not? I think you told us at some point, but I can't remember. I, too, and pretty uneducated in any religions outside my own Catholic upbringing- am just starting to learn about the Episcopalian religion only because my father-in-law is a minister for that denomination and I will probably start taking the girls to their church once we move...

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!! Finish the week strong!

Jamie

Really Jaya...tell that banker to go somewhere with that attitude! You are doing the best thing as a mother! His/her priorities are not yours so who is that person to judge, you know?!

The fair was good Dawn! I LOVE those foot long corn dogs too!!!! They are a staple for me. mmmmmmm....

Well ladies, Ramadan starts tomorrow and I am happy. It'll be interesting to see how and if I can get a little exercise in. I've been and will be pretty busy these next few weeks so I know it will be a real challenge for me. God willing, I can still get a little in.

Have a great evening ladies! I have a few things to do and I'm going to relax with my mom lady.
Good night!

Amy~ Oh Fair time!!! Our state fair is in a few weeks, the 12 days before Labor Day each year. My husband and I were really bummed 2 years ago when Justine was born during fair time and we did not get to make it to the fair. Then, we realized that we have the makings of a tradition on our hands, because Justine's birthday will ALWAYS fall during fair time, so we have that as our b-day tradition for her! Last year she had a good time. This year should be even better! We have our discount tickets and Blue Ribbon Deals booklet and the date is set for our big day...just can't wait for it to be here! My fair favorites are Pork Chop on a Stick, Wild Rice Burger, french fries, Sweet Martha's Cookies, and the day would not be complete without a trip to the Empire Commons Dairy Building for a Strawberry Milkshake! Guys, I do NOT eat artificial strawberry anything throughout the year, but I absolutely LOVE this milkshake!! Ironically I do not like cheese curds, and most of the deep fried stuff just looks gross to me. Although it is the only time of year I have a Foot Long Corn Dog, too! OK, I just had lunch and now I am starving again!! Thank goodness this is just ONE day of the year. We could go more, but that would just be murder on the system, as there is not too much healthy fare at The Fair!!

I got to post my blog with Ryder's picture a little bit ago, so visit it and see the cute little tot you prayed for, and thank you!

Jaya~ You go tell those bankers where they can shove their attitide!! You are absolutely doing the best thing for your kids by being home with them at this time in their life. They learn so much each day from you, and no one can love them like their momma, so suck it up and do what you know is right. If there is a house out there for you, it will show up. Meantime, keep playing the lottery!!

And I had a mental picture of myself doing Jillian's workout yesterday (Banish Fat) in a TRAILER, and it makes me laugh hysterically!! CANNOT imagine it, so I do hear you on how that kinda stinks to be working out in a trailer. Do what you can.

Well, I must get a few more things done while Justine is sleeping. The nights are still staying better for her, she slept the whole night thru last night, so that was AWESOME for the whole household!! Her cold gets better each day, thankfully.

Stay stong, ladies!! Do your best, and if you cheat, then at least enjoy the cheat and don't beat yourself up about it!!! Just get back on that horse and start up again being good!

Amy, I saw your pics on facebook. I was drooling! I haven't had fair food for a long time. I'm a huge sucker for cheese curds and funnel cake. YUM! Hopefully you won't suffer too much from it!

Dawn, I'm glad your workout's working out! Hehe! I'm such a dork! I would love to build up to 3x a week! I'm so bad when it comes to working out! Not to make excuses but not having a room or basement that I can excape to makes it really hard. Not to mention jumping around in a trailer doesn't feel as stable as a house! I just need to get back to strength training 3x week. The kids won't let me do a dvd so it seems to be the best option.

Jamie, I know what you mean about house prices. I'm lucky to live in this area and STILL we can't afford a house. I take that back... we can afford a trailer or very small house that's in town. But that doesn't make sense to buy if we can rent the trailer on my parents 20 acres. Plus 2 bankers now have made comments about me staying at home with my kids. The way they say it makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong. But that's BS! Because if I got a job it would all go towards daycare for my 3 kids and gas to go to and from. So I'd be working, paying someone to watch my kids, and nothing to show for it! Maybe if I could get a high enough paying job. But in this economy, my location, and no diploma, I'd probably be bagging groceries or waiting tables.

Sorry that kind of turned into a rant! LOL! Feel free to tell me if I'm wrong. It's always nice to see it from someone elses point of view.

~Jaya~

Oops! I didn't do a test post and a few popped up after my post.

Dawn~ I have done that Blast Fat DVD and LOVE it! I have that one, the shred and the trouble zone one. I haven't opened the trouble zones cause I like this fat one! It really is no joke!!!!!

Jamie~ I hear you about house prices. Our county is one of the more expensive in the state. I think average cost of homes are $250k. I look at places like San Antonio and the same homes are in the $100s. It's so different!

Hi ladies!
Sorry I have been MIA. I haven't been online as much as I've been busy.

Dawn~ Oh no! I hope Justine is feeling better. The poor girl! She needs some much needed relief. HOw is she doing now?
Sorry to hear about the troubles with fridge. That actually sounds very scary! I've never heard of that happening before. Yikes!

Jaya~ Yes! We have been a busy bunch. Summer has a way of keeping us all on our toes. How are things your way?

Jamie~ Yikes! Sounds like you were not well either. HOw are you now?

Ladies, I did so well earlier in the week and then the weekend came. I have been eating fair food two days plus naughty Taco Bell (Hell) that I feel like a bloated sea monkey! haha Today I ate so much greasy, whipped food that I'm lucky I didn't go into coronary bypass. Of course, it was pretty tasty! haha

Have a great night ladies! I'll check in again soon!

Jamie~ Congrats on getting to your last week at your stinkin' job!!! Good riddance and off to bigger and better things!!!

Jaya~ Your trailer sounds a bit too cozy for me!! I do hope you can find something at some point.

Well, thank God that the last 2 nights we have all slept well!! I think I got up once each night with Justine, and got her right back to sleep with just a little rocking and comfort. Her cold is getting better, as she seems to have turned the corner over the weekend. She is just now waking up from her nap so I need to make this quick, but...

I just finished my first workout of Jillian's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism...and this workout is NO JOKE!! I have not gotten my heart rate up this high exercising EVER!! It was over my limit on my HRM!! The workout was a total of 54 mins with warmup and cooldown, and I burned 420 calories. Pretty good!! I am liking my new routine with 6 different workouts, doing them 3x a week for a full 2 week cycle of different exercises. This is what I need right now to keep it going, but still give myself a bit of a break. I am really liking not tracking all my food. Last week worked out well for me, lost almost 2 pounds. We'll see how this week goes. My husband keeps saying that it is just simply doing something different that keeps your body guessing that keeps the weight off or going down. I also like that I have a few days a week that I can do something else besides exercise while Justine is napping!!! More ME time!!

OK, gotta cruise. I got a picture of little Ryder today, so I will post a blog later today or tomorrow with his picture. He's a cutie and continues to improve each day!!

Jaya- we crossed paths!! It always amazes me what house costs are in other parts of the country, because they are so high in NH... We still pay less in rent than we would a mortgage, so we will continue to rent... I like that anyway, since I don't have to worry about all the home repairs... hehe

Sounds like you are doing well, even though you aren't fully concentrating on weight loss. Keep it up!
