My 2 cents is make sure you know that they are going to cover you before you go in for surgery, otherwise the insurance co has an out. This is not cheap surgery, so you don't want to get stuck with the bill!

Your insurance sucks don't it? I hope they approve your surgery. I had mine in February and I'm healthy now and much less an insurance risk than I've been in years. They should consider the savings they'll see in the long run. Don't give up! Keep losing even if they do deny you.

Nicole, congrats on going for it. I am just begining my journey. I have my first appt with the RD 9/9 and then the consult with the doc on 9/19. I have already contacted my insurance tho and I have the coverage. Did you call before you started on the journey? I hope they will take care of this for you

I am scheduled for my sleve surgery on September 3rd but
I'm very worried about my insurance approving it.
It's proven to be a kinda problem with other things. I had
my appendix out but they say it was not medically necessary.
has anyone been denied then later been excepted after
An appeal?
