"My husband says i am still sexy to him," is what you state in your post. Listen to him...HE knows what he is talking about. He loves YOU, and he things you are SEXY!!!!! You are very attractive in your profile picture. I see that you have lost weight! Congratulations! Keep up the good work. We've just got to get your self-esteem boosted a little. When you get up each morning, look into the mirror and tell yourself, "I am beautiful, and I am Sexy!" Repeat that many times during the day. Also add the "I have beautiful blue eyes" when speaking to yourself. Give yourself POSITIVE feedback rather than negative. Best wishes in reaching your goals.

Have you ever considered getting counseling to help you sort out the issues behind your self-image?
There is a lot of pressure in society on women to stay or get unrealistically thin, it's true, but some of us are more susceptable to internalizing those messages than others.
How do you think that your self-image is in general?

I am 5'4" so i am not serverly overweight but its enough to cuz me to have medical problems. I know that my perception of myself can be unrealistic. Growing up (until i as 17) i as real skinny. I think my selfconfidence went down more the more weight u gain. My husband says i am still sexy to him, but i don't feel so. I have watch that show a couple times i have even tried to enter online. I also love the show dropdead diva, especially the episode with the lady who as skinny and was getting fired because she gained to much weight. I know most of my problems is my own bad perception of beauty.

Welcome to SP and welcome to our team. It is great that you have found us. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary:-)

I feel I must say, attractiveness is nothing to do with weight - and looking at your weight ticker, if you are VERY overweight, then you must be real short! Beauty and attractiveness is what comes from within. You can be massively overweight and still look real sexy - have you ever seen the show "How to Look Good Naked? - preferably the Enlish one with Gok Wan, but the American one with Carson Kressley is o.k. If you haven't and it is aired where you are, I suggest you watch a few. ALL of the women have an unrealistic perception of where there body is at and what they look like. The English one is real good because Gok gets the woman to decide where in the line-up of his 10 naked beauties the woman he is helping should be - I don't EVER recall one single woman chosing the correct place - they generally put themselves totally at the wrong end of the line-up - in-other-words, they are actually a lot slimmer looking than they thought! They generally look really stunning in their underwear - or not (if you get the drift). Anyway, I have put a link for you to look at some quick clips - enjoy and you never know - you just might have a r-e-a-l g-o-o-d night if you know what I mean :-)

Welcome to the DWD Team. We're all in this together and can relate well to what you are saying. There is no perfection or guilt in a healthy lifestyle.

The earlier posts have give you some very good suggestions and ideas to follow. I suggest using the Nutrition Tracker to jumpstart your weight loss plan. It will show where your current calories and nutrients come from, and recommends ranges for a healthy weight loss plan.

Glad to meet you.

Hello MAMABLUEEYEZ3...Welcome to SparkPeople and to the Dealing With Depression Team. We are happy that you've reached out to our team for motivation and support. Our team is very friendly and caring, and we are here for you.

First off, I'd like to wish you and your husband a very "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!"

I am not sure exactly what you mean when you say your husband 'expects something?' If you are talking about a store bought gift..well, girl...get him a nice gift. However, if you are talking about a 'fun filled night of intimacy,' (and I hope you are), just remember that your husband loves YOU. Please forget all about 'feeling fat and unattractive' at least for the moment, and have a wonderful time with your husband on your anniversary. Do This For HIM! He will probably appreciate "THAT" more than any old store bought gift.

Now getting back to YOU and how you 'feel so fat and unattractive,' I think all of that will begin to change now that you have joined us here at SparkPeople.

You CAN lose the weight and 'make your relationship come back to the way it used to be when you were smaller.' Many of our members have lost as much as 100 pounds by following the program and some have lost even more than that. Read a few of the success stories located on the Tool Bar above.

The SparkPeople program is about changing our old habits and replacing them with healthier habits. All of the information can be found on the Tool Bar. After exploring around a little, if you have questions, just ask them here. It won't be long before someone will get back to you with the answers.

For now, I hope you will let yourself enjoy the day (and night) with your husband to celebrate your anniversary. You might tell him that you have joined SparkPeople, and let him know that you are getting on the path to leading a healthy lifestyle.

Take care, and keep in touch with the team. We are here for you, and WE CARE!

HUGS
Pam
