I like the John Foster Dulles quote. I hope I don't have a weight problem next year like the one I have now. That thought makes me happy. I am doing something about it.

Not silly at all, I think it was a really good question!

In general these things make me happy: being out in the nature, animals (I think just being around them), dancing (!), running.

But I don't do these things often at all. I think because I believe I don't deserve them. And maybe because I'm afraid to be happy - like what are the consequences of feeling happy doing these things?

emoticon for posing this question! It forced me to stop and think: what does maake me happy? The #1 thing is being out in nature, especially in the mountains. So then I have to ask myself: why don't I do more of it? The short answer is that I don't have the time or the money (or a reliable car), but I think the deep answer is something much different!

Interesting question. There are some many wonders from family to nature, from the every day things to those that are are rare and unique. Yesterday, I saw two mourning doves perched on the fence. Every year the pair nest under the eaves on the east side of my house. I was happy to see them returned. To me happiness is like beauty, it's all around us if we look for it.

That is a good question. Some days what makes me happy will make me cry the next, maybe tears of joy or of regret that that part of my life is over. Such as looking at videos or pictures of my Dad who passed, or baby pictures. I just got home from the hospital on Friday and I never thought that would make me so happy, but it did.

Remember we are responsible for our own happiness. That became my mantra in 1996.

I love SparkPeople

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

I am responsible for my own happiness.

My name is Bonnie I live in CT DST

I went from 258 to 126 pounds and have maintained it since 12/28/12.

One thing that always makes me happy is to look at videos of my two year old granddaughter. It is impossible not to smile and then the smile enters my heart and soul.

Lost 65 lbs and maintained since 2006.

I don't think this is a silly question at all! What makes me happy: exercise, particularly running, being outside, yoga, reading a good book, a cup of my favorite tea, puttering in the yard, an upbeat song, laughing with friends (yesterday, it was couple of funny youtube things), watching a good show or movie with my husband, a good nights sleep. I exercise almost everyday; I read everyday; have a cup of tea almost every day. If you are asking for prompts when feeling down, I meditate more/more regularly, breathe more. Hope that helps. I think it is different for everyone in terms of self care.

I make sure not to get too busy to take time for myself. Sometimes I spend time on the computer, sometimes read in the bath, sometimes color while I watch a favorite tv show, and with spring coming, take a walk in the sunshine!

Hi friends ! This is Priya here. This question amy seem silly. But I really want to know - do you do anything particular to make yourself happy ? If yes, then what do you do ?
