The silver lining is: your counselor witnessed your attack & now has some more information about you which s/he can use to help you. Did you get a chance to talk about it at all? If not, maybe at the next appointment?

I ended up going to my appointment and I had a major panic attack while I was there. I really did not get much accomplished because it took the bulk of the hour to recover from that.

You could use the appointment tonight to discuss the anxiousness with the counselor. emoticon with Miller about eating the food for comfort. Use distractions to keep from eating. Good luck. emoticon

I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious. I struggle with anxiety, too, and I know how terribly hard it can be. If you can, maybe take a short walk around the building where you work, or if you're at home, just go outside and connect with nature for a bit. Also, try drinking a big glass of water - that might help the cravings for comfort food. Lastly, remind yourself that you can use the therapy appointment this evening to discuss all these anxious feelings and get some good feedback from your therapist.

I wish I knew how to really help. Sending virtual hugs...

So I am having a rough day here. I have a counseling appointment this evening and I am really anxious about it. I have seen this counselor for years and I really trust him, so I am not sure why I am so anxious about this appointment. Every hour that passes, the more anxious I get, and the more I want to turn to food for comfort. This is not a good day at all. I wish I knew what was causing the anxiety in me about this appointment. I have control over what we talk about, so I know I am not forced to talk about things that I am not ready to. emoticon
