Meds, therapy, support, physical outlet, music and hobbies all help. It took me too long to find and accept help.

At first, like the others med and therapy. After a change in my personal status, now I use journalling and holistic methods which seems to be working for me. Find what works for you.

As @CAROLJEAN64 stated, while you are exploring different techniques/options, be kind to yourself, take advantage of baby steps to move forward and build the support system that works for you.

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Meds and Therapy. It pays to have a very supportive and caring Dr you can talk to, as well. I know mine was literally a life-saver.

It also helps a lot of people around are supportive instead of telling you to 'get over it' or, 'it's in your head'

Hugs,
Kris

Meds and therapy for me. I was in my 50s before I even sought professional treatment. Do not wait. You will feel so much better with the help of a therapist.

Meds and therapy made a world of difference for me for several years. Then the meds quit working for me and my psychiatrist recommended TMS...trancranial magnetic stimulation, which luckily my insurance helped cover. It is 5-6 weeks series of 30 minute noninvasive therapy 5 days a week followed by once a week for 4-6 weeks. Iím off meds and doing well, had the therapy about 3 years ago.
In the mean time, be kind to yourself. If you have a task that seems overwhelming and you feel needs to be done, only do a little at time. For example, a sink full of dirty dishes, do the glassware and then relax or do anything that makes you feel okay. The later the silverware and maybe later the plates. I think you get the idea.

Lost 65 lbs and maintained since 2006.

Medication and therapy helped me. My supportive husband has always been there for me.

hi. i survived a depressive episode since last week. thank you very much. And i was able to prevent it from lingering for another weak. double thank you.

I was wondering, there's gotta be a way for a better living, like, i would limit my depression for 3 days, and develop my GRIT for the hard things on life.

MY question is, as someone with depression or anxiety , posibly, how do you cope when you are depressed? how do you work? do chores? do responsibilities? basically be an adult?

how do you live your life?

I am on my 30s and i dont want living the next 30 years like this. i mean i want to be better.
