I am still on Week Two. I have some mysterious metabolic malady that is going to take some dedicated sleuthing to identify. I go see another doctor in a few week and then, hopefully, get some tests done. In the meantime, I have good days and bad days. I am giving myself all the time that I need to finish a chapter Iíve decided. I want to make sure that I do it justice though Iím also going to encourage myself to move on so that I keep having a feeling of progress. This whole Artistís Way process is just epiphany after epiphany for me. :)

I remember Week 2 being a lot of fun.

Hello! Lisa0517 and I are starting a challenge in October and seeing your post and activity, I wondered if you might not want to joing us. You aren't too far ahead of us, so I thought maybe you might like to follow with us. We are doing 1 chapter a week finishing up right before the new year. Come join us on the thread "Anyone up for a Challenge - 12 weeks, 12 chapters." It might be fun to have a group going through it! ~Mindy

Hmmm. Interesting how many crazymakers I work with. Chapter 2 is helping my with clarity on which people to avoid during this process!

I'm just not getting this chapter finished this week, so I guess I'll have to give myself an extension. This is strange for me because I usually read a lot, but by taking it in chunks, and taking time to think about it, well, it takes longer. I guess that was sort of obvious!

Oh, Rebecca, don't go there with the fantasy; I spent 18 years in therapy because of that.

How about we do #3 on the tasks only we have to list things and actually do them as artist dates?

Four books just now added to ten.
Two weeks stall the growth spurt.
Books grow faster than plants.
Dooryard mud lies unbroken.

Mulch the books or read about
How plants grow well in paper gardens?
Mine is a dooryard small and perfect;
Yet potbound pansies cry for earth.

Split am I between two worlds:
Paper and earth compost my soul.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste
But sometimes too,
A wasteful thing to mind.

I just finished reading Chapter 2. I realize that I need to talk with my doctor, I'm getting distracted very easily and have trouble comprehending things, have to go back and read them a second, and sometimes a third, time. Since I'm trying to go back to school next semester I need to get this taken care of now.

The section that really got me was on Attention. I almost always live in a fantasy world from the time I get up until the time I go to bed. I'm rarely "present" for anything I'm doing, my mind is always elsewhere. I've known about this problem for a long time. It is what got me (superficially) studying Buddhism. The idea of mindfullness and being present at all times is foreign to me. I have a feeling I'm going to go over this section of the chapter many more times.

I looked over the tasks, they don't seem particularly daunting. I'm going to try to do a few every day instead of doing them all at once like last week. We'll see how that goes.

Rebecca
