My challenge still continues... still trying to clear out the barn!

Now I have a "race" with myself... I work on the inside of each stall for a few minutes... to see which stall gets done first!

Slow and steady to finish the race!

I have one pen that holds the goats they are in it now...BUT then yesterday they were getting out again. I repaired it. Someone had cut the wire, and made a hole in the fence.

I am in eastern Oregon in a town called Nyssa.

I am just right out mad! I almost in tears at the moment...

Today I got the stuff to make cheese, and ice cream :) I get home to discover all my fresh goats milk had been thrown out by my MIL!!! She also threw out all our flour, sugar, and a few packages of steaks! I am letting husband deal with it when he gets home. I am to upset to talk to her right now.

We use electric fence EVERYWHERE! We tried electric fence on our goats and we had one that would just shake it off and go through! The goats were the comical pet at the property so we ended up giving them back from where we got them.

Sounds like you have been VERY productive! emoticon

I have one stall done (the worst) now for the rest..... UGH!

Finally fixed the hot water pipe! NICE! I KNOW YOUR DISCOMFORT! emoticon

I have a mean dog that keeps people away.

I decided I am going to put an electric fence up around the upper pasture and turn the goats out. They can eat the old hay down. I am also going to put the llamas in with them to keep the coyotes away.

I been busy this week. I got the hay area cleaned out FINALLY took me 3 days.
Today, With my Dad's supervision. I fixed the broken hot water pipe. No more heating water up to take a bath yeah! Tomorrow I get to start working on the ponies pen.

Do you think discing the pastures with the old hay - would increase grass growth?

we tried the aunatural way of letting the horses run in the pasture then threw some pasture seed down and kept them off of it for a couple of weeks! Didn't work out soo well.

We are going to try to disc them up next year early spring.

Who cares what the neighbors think? I kinda hope they do think we are nuts! They will leave us alone! emoticon

I moved some hay but that making another mess to clean up at a later time. I am going to disc the old hay into the upper and lower pastures. I think that my neighbors think that I am a little crazy. I never scooped anything with the tractor, and it took me awhile to get the hang of it.

My husband tried using the tractor to "clear out the barn".... yep... he smashed into the stalls on both sides.... and smashed the rails for the overhead door.... yeah.... I'm doing it the manual way around the damage to clear out the barn!

Yeah... hay area and pen area....its' all one big mess right now!

Ahh... keeps for exciting conversation! emoticon

Yes we do have flies need to spray for them! Mother in law had a crazy idea to spray paint a board black then put it behind a water trough. She said the flies would fly into it thinking it was a open door and knock themselves out and fall into the water....

I need to clean my barn out too.

I need to take my cat out there because I saw a mouse this morning!

Currently I am taking a break from my morning work out...milking Dotty.

It was my first time milking her alone her second time in the milk stand. Well she bucked kicked side stepped, showered me in milk by dumping bucket 5-7 times, and then she sit in my lap and was like fine milk me, never mind then she repeat bucking kicking side stepping then back in my lap this went on for about 30 minutes lol. She is feeding 2 babies, and still needs milked! If not she might get mastitis, and she will not like being treated for that!

I need to get the ground clean in the barn! Next adventure! emoticon

Yeah you got him loaded! I have one brat that will only load from one side of the trailer. It is his quirk, and we do as he likes. Better than him rearing up, and throwing a tantrum. Its nasty and windy here, so today I probably mainly focus on indoor stuff!

Lauren It sounds like you have a similar list to my own. I did get everyone trimmed, and winter coats brushed out. I need to organize the tack room, fix the lean to roof, clean out water troughs, clean out the old hay, and make room for new I swear the list never ends.

I have been doing taxes and have been gone from morning till nite... The barn is now a disaster! The horses' manes... look like Bob Marley dredlocks! I haven't ridden them since last year!

MY CHALLENGE... over the next 6 weeks is to:
Clean out the barn - redo the stalls (my DH ran into them with his tractor)
Brush out the horses - winter coats and manes
Clean up the outside the barn grounds - fix fences
RIDE! - take lessons and ride my bunch!

LOTS to do but excited about getting there! emoticon
